He was deeply committed to his faith and Hyas Baptist Church and served in many positions of leadership over the years. His home was noted for its hospitality. Many itinerant evangelists used it as their base when preaching in the area. He led Church group Bible studies at their home as well as teaching a Sunday School class at the Church. Peter was predeceased by his wife of seventy-three years, Mary; daughter, Beverly; granddaughter, Kim and son-in-law, Ches Patzer. He is survived by three children, David (Sharon), Sharon (Len) Church and Barbara Patzer; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He will remain with us in our memories and will be greatly missed. The scriptures were read by son, David Bellows as well as Peter’s grandchildren. Words of tribute and eulogy were shared by Peter’s family. He moved on as a teenager to Fife Lake, SK and on the death of his father when David was just 16, he took on the responsibility of helping his mother to manage the Fife Lake Hotel. From there he moved on to Winnipeg, MB where while employed with the T. Eaton Company, he met and married the woman who he always told “I love you with all my heart” , right to the very end. Many wonderful years were spent in Winnipeg and at the cottage in Lake Forest Estates, Gimli, MB. It was during these years that an accident left him with multiple surgeries and resulted in his requiring orthopedic boots and canes to walk. Then the family moved back to Yorkton, SK, enjoying small town life, where he particularly enjoyed his Crib game at the Legion and being that booming voice cheering on his sons hockey team. But, when his cardiac problems arose, he moved on to Calgary, AB where the health care he needed was more readily available. David lived life to the fullest, he had no regrets. His presence filled a room and his laughter and smile was un-mistakable. He faced many challenging health issues over the years and always remained positive and accepting of the outcomes. His years of pain and suffering are now over. He was a mountain of a man with a kind, gentle and generous heart. He will be remembered and dearly missed by those whose lives he has touched. Always those canes and boots and his passion for playing cards, especially crib. He was so very proud of all his children’s accomplishments and so very proud to have had the opportunity to have lived to see and enjoy his beautiful grandchildren. He always said what a lucky man he was to have his family. As per David’s wishes immediate cremation has taken place with a private family gathering. As his grandson Reg said, “Grandpa has grown his Angel Wings” . A small graveside gathering will occur Saturday, April 23, 11:00 am, in Yorkton SK, Yorkton Cemetery, Legion Plot, where some of David’s ashes will be laid to rest with his father, as per David’s wishes. BELLOWS - Peter Bellows. April 1, 1915 - April 5, 2016. Shortly after celebrating his one hundred and first birthday Peter went peacefully to be with his Lord, in the early hours of April 5, 2016 at the Yorkton Regional Nursing Home. Peter was born near Hyas, SK the son of Ewdokim and Yellena Bellows the seventh in a family of twelve. He attended school in Hyas and began farming thereafter. He married Mary Kachman in 1937 and they settled into their own farm where they remained until 2010. During those years they raised four children and enjoyed many activities with their nine grandchildren. They moved from the farm when Mary needed significant care because of her declining health. Peter and Mary lived and farmed in the Hyas

vicinity for seventy years. He enjoyed the challenge that farming provided especially when it came to repairing equipment that broke down. He demonstrated his faith year by year as he entrusted the fruits of his labours to the Lord. He was thankful for whatever the harvest provided whether it be bountiful or sparse. Peter enjoyed the freedom and challenges that farming offered. Over his years on the farm he saw many changes in farming practices. His initial years of cultivation were carried out with a team of horses. Working together with his brothers they were able to transition to the mechanized age of steel wheel tractors. This greatly reduced the manpower requirements for sowing and harvesting the grain crop. The next change came with the purchase of a rubber tired Massey Harris 44 diesel tractor in 1949. He was in the modern age of farming. Farming provided him with the opportunity of putting his mechanical skills to the test. He enjoyed the challenge of repairing a broken down piece of equipment, rigging up a device to do a specific job or over- hauling a motor on the tractor or car. No problem was too difficult to attempt to resolve. He enjoyed the simple things of farm life, like the look of black summer fallow, the smell of new cut hay and the golden glow of a combined field of grain. They all gave him a sense of satisfaction. A Celebration of Peter’s life was held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ebenezer, SK with Pastor Kendall Buhler officiating. The opening hymn was “Blessed Assurance”. The scriptures were read by son, David Bellows as well as Peter’s grandchildren. Words of tribute and eulogy were shared by Peter’s family. Special music included a solo by Amanda Buhler of “Where I Belong” and the closing hymn, “Because He Lives” sung by the Bellows family. Card of Thanks

The family of the late Ernest Ratke wishes to thank all those who expressed condolences and offered support and prayer over the past weeks. Your gifts of food, cards, flowers, and time spent visiting during this difficult time are much appreciated. A special thanks for the prayers offered at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Thank you also to Dr. Osime and Dr. Obiora for your most excellent care.

The family of the late Justin Wolfe would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for the love and support shown to our family during this very difficult time. Thank you to everyone that phoned and texted condolences, gifts of food, sent flowers, cards or made memorial donations. Thank you to Bailey’s funeral Home for their professionalism, guidance and support. Special thanks to Crystal Bailey for officiating Justin’s memorial service. A very special thank you to Adam McCannell for the touching tribute to Justin. Thank you to everyone that attended the memorial service at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. Thank you to the staff at Yorkton Memorial Gardens for coffee and dainties at the reception following the service. Special thanks to all of Justin’s “associates” for spending the evening with our family after the service. You are all a wonderful group of young adults. PLAN NUMBER 7-3-945

FAMILY HOME WITH WOODWORK

The archway over the front entrance, a deep front porch, the curved extension of the highest gable and the decorative woodwork that frames the mullioned windows, all lend this three-bed-room family home an air of Victorian charm.

A covered porch leads through the front door into a large foyer. A den is on the right, adjacent to a two-piece powder room. A coat closet is sit-uated near the entrance to the great room.

Fitted into a bayed-out space near the back of the house, the great room boasts a dramatic vaulted ceiling, as well as a fireplace. Flowing seamlessly from this room is the dining room, occupying its own bayed-out area, which has access to a covered deck, the perfect spot for year-round barbecuing.

The kitchen is sepa-rated from the other family rooms only by a raised eating bar and island, ensuring the cook will never feel isolated. The L-shaped counter configuration promises more than adequate

work space, and a pantry provides extra storage. A window over the kitchen sink overlooks the back garden.

From the kitchen, a doorway leads to a spa-cious laundry room, with a coat closet located near the entrance to the dou-ble garage, where there is enough room for a size-able workshop. Part of the garage has an extra-high ceiling, ideal for an RV or other over-height vehicle.

Up the U-shaped stair-way, a railed vestibule area allows a glimpse of the great room below. The master suite, over-

looking the back garden, features a large walk-in closet. The en-suite, in a bayed-out area, offers a touch of luxury in the form of a shower stall and a soaker tub, plus double basins.

The second and third bedrooms share a bath-room, also with double basins. The third bed-room features a window with an extra-deep sill.

Exterior finishes include wooden shingles, painted trim, decorative wooden detailing and stone accents.

This home measures 45 feet, four inches wide and 57 feet deep, for a total of 2,230 square feet of living space.

Plans for design 7-3-945 are available for $835 (set of 5), $900(set of 8) and $952 for a super set of 10. B.C. residents add 7% Prov. Sales Tax. Also add $35.00 for Priority courier charges within B.C. or $65.00 outside of B.C. Please add 5% G.S.T. or 13% H.S.T. (where applicable) to both the plan price and postage charges.

Our NEW 48TH Edition of the Home Plan Catalogue containing over 400 plans is avail-able for $15.50 (includes taxes, postage and han-dling). Make all cheque and money orders pay-able to “JENISH HOUSE DESIGN LTD” and mail to:
