TESLIA - Eugene, June 28, 1941 - June 13, 2015, aged 73 years, was born to Sam and Frances Teslia (Rushinowski) at the family farm South of Buchanan. As a young boy he attended Devils Lake School. In 1959 he met Iris (Spelay) of Whitesand area and they were married May 10, 1964. They resided in Regina, where Eugene worked with Wapal Construction and was a bouncer at Earle’s Hotel bar. Shortly after, their preemie miracle baby, Susan was born on May 25, 1964. Eugene’s ambitions directed him to seek employment with Regina ambulance where he was an ambulance attendant. He worked his way up to an orderly and moved his family to Toronto, ON. There he furthered himself in the hospital up to an operating room technician where he worked in the Operating Room on specialty area of hearts and eyes. Eugene’s longing for being home directed them to move back to Saskatchewan were he took on the role of an orderly in the Yorkton Union hospital. His desire to take on other challenges saw Eugene move to Kamsack, where he was a sales- man at MacLeod’s, then moved back to Regina, where their second daughter, Connie was born. After that Eugene and Iris moved to Thompson, MB, where he was employed in the mines. Eugene and Iris decided to work for themselves and bought a restaurant in Wapella, SK. A few years later took on a business opportunity to purchase a restaurant in Melville. Eugene and Iris thereafter moved to Springside where Eugene went further into his passion of the culinary and went to cooking school in Moose Jaw, SK. He worked at the base in Orcadia for a period of time. Eugene received a great opportunity with the Coop Creamery in Yorkton, where he drove delivery truck to many communities. Eugene was a driven soul who wanted to make a difference in his family’s life and became involved in politics in the 70’s. This produced further opportunities for Eugene in further career challenges that would bring him back to his roots for the love of the farm. Eugene became a crop adjuster and travelled all over Saskatchewan working with the farmers. Thereafter his further ambitions in politics led him to be appointed to the highway traffic board. In 1987 Eugene experienced the sudden loss of his wife Iris. Thereafter, although hard on him, he found strength to move forward in life. After his term of appointment was completed Eugene spent his retirement keeping himself busy as a Commissioner in Yorkton. In 1995 Eugene met Bev Murray of Swan River, MB. They were married on December 29, 2001. Eugene and Bev resided in Swan River and loved to travel and garden and greatly enjoyed the gatherings with families and friends as and when they occurred. In May 2011, Eugene suffered a stroke which he needed extended care for and forever more tragically changed his life, which led to his residing at the Swan Valley Lodge till his passing. Eugene was passionate of gathering with his family and friends to share the common enjoyment of traditions and being together. It did not have to be any special occasion for him to create a gathering. The many pancake breakfasts he would host at the cabin at Good Spirit Lake, the many sausage making gatherings, the many special occasions that he would call everyone up to come to was a sentiment of how important it was to him to be surrounded by the love of family and friends. Eugenes hobbies could be seen through the love for cooking and hunting and making sausage and boating and building and farming crops on his homestead. To add to his many attributes Eugene was a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he was proud of his faith and brotherhood he shared with the other Knights. In his later years with his limited mobility he enjoyed watching curling and baseball. Given that his wife Bev was an avid curler, she educated him in understanding of the game. Eugene’s determination and strong will brought him through the toughest of times and he was respected by many for this quality. He was a giving soul that would embrace you with much love. He would always lend an ear to listen when others were in need and he was always helping those that needed guidance to walk them through their troubles. Eugene was always striving to do the best for himself and his family and to give his family a quality life and have his family be proud of him. Truly an admirable quality. Eugene passed peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Swan Valley Lodge. He would have been 74 on June 28. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him. In Memoriam

JAKUBOWSKI – In loving memory of David

(October 3, 1942 - June 29, 2012)

Your presence we miss,Your memory we treasureLoving you alwaysForgetting you never.Lovingly remembered by wife, Darlene and family

Little did we know that morning God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide. And though we cannot see you, you are always by our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

PLAN NUMBER 1-3-663 A T T R A C T I V E

FAMILY HOMEAn unfinished base-

ment is included in the plans for this attractive family home, designed so the two-vehicle garage, laundry room and a covered entry are set at an angle from the main building and form a par-tial courtyard.

The front door is protected by a porch, always welcome in bad weather, and leads into a spacious foyer. A coat closet is ahead and to the left, opposite the stair-way to the basement. To the right are two display

cases, ideal for collect-ibles.

Directly ahead, through a squared arch-way, the great room fea-tures a fireplace and sliding doors to the part-ly-covered sundeck. The dining area is tucked into a niche with large win-dows that also look out to the sundeck.

The kitchen is separat-ed from the dining area and great room by a work island. Natural light will come in through the win-dow above the double sink, and the L-shaped counter configuration will save steps for the cook. A roomy walk-

in pantry will provide always-welcome extra storage space.

The laundry room is conveniently close to the kitchen and across the corridor from a powder room. Nearby is an entry-way with a handy closet, adjacent to the double garage, which includes another doorway on the opposite side.

In the sleeping wing, the master bedroom is located at the back of the home for privacy, and includes a walk-in clos-et as well as a spacious ensuite with double basins and a soaker tub, as well as a shower stall.

The second and third bedrooms share a three-piece bath. The third bedroom overlooks the front garden and enjoys an extra-deep sill that would make a cosy win-dow seat.

Ceilings on the main floor all measure nine feet.

Exterior finishes include stucco, painted pilasters with cut-stone bases, and board-and-batten accents in the gables. Decorative garage doors and paint-ed trim add a touch of elegance.

This home measures 78 feet, six inches wide by 72 feet, nine inches deep.

Plans for design 1-3-663 are available for $795 (set of 5), $900(set of 8) and $984 for a super set of 10. B.C. residents add 7% Prov. Sales Tax. Also add $35.00 for Priority courier charges within B.C. or $65.00 outside of B.C. Please add 5% G.S.T. or 13% H.S.T. (where applicable) to both the plan price and postage charges.

Our NEW 47TH Edition of the Home Plan Catalogue containing over 400 plans is avail-able for $15.50 (includes taxes, postage and han-dling). Make all cheque and money orders pay-able to “JENISH HOUSE DESIGN LTD” and mail to:

Charity Golf Classic a successThe 16th Annual

Charity Golf Classic was a huge success with golf-ers raising $75,230 in pledges. The funds will purchase equipment for 11 healthcare facilities in the Sunrise Health Region.

“We were very fortun-ate to have a great day of sunshine and a gentle breeze. I don’t think we could have had a better day,” said Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation. “The golfers this year did a great job of raising money and we owe them a very sincere thank you for their efforts to raise funds to improve health-care in our commun-ities.”

“We have to thank our presenting sponsors who did a great job organiz-ing the tournament this year,” continued Mr. Fisher. “The Presenting Sponsors donate $3,000 each, but they also help organize the Charity Golf Classic in addition to their financial dona-tion.” The presenting sponsors are: Mosaic, SaskTel, Louis Dreyfus Commodities and the Credit Unions of East Central Saskatchewan.

“We like how the proceeds of the tour-nament go to medical facilities throughout the health region, where many of your clients, customers and employ-ees live” said Darryl Flunder, Procurement Manager for Louis Dreyfus Commodities.

“Healthcare is a good cause, eventually every-one will use the health-care system, and when we need it we want good facilities and equip-ment.”

47 businesses covered the costs of the golf tour-nament through spon-sorships, and another 56 businesses donated prizes. The large num-ber of sponsorships and donated prizes keep the cost of the golf tourna-ment low allowing 100% of the monies raised by golfers to be used to buy equipment.

There is tremendous support from individuals throughout the region for the tournament as well. This year golfers collected 1,543 pledges. That’s a huge number of people making dona-tions, and it shows how much work the golfers do to raise funds for health-care. This tournament is the perfect example of how a lot of $20, $50 and $100 donations mixed in with a few large dona-tions can add up to a lot of money.

The main prizes in the Charity Golf Classic are for fundraising. First prize this year was a $3,000 Travel Voucher from CAA Travel.

The top fundraisers this year are:

1. Ken Chyz, who raised $5,424 and won the $3,000 travel voucher;

2. Bernie Trischuk, who raised $4,665, and won a $1,000 travel vouch-er with CAA; and,

3. Brandy Mitschke, who raised $4,000 and won a $500 travel vouch-er with CAA.

“The Charity Golf Classic has been going for 16 years, and in that time $1,175,230 has been raised and used to improve our local health-care,” said Mr. Fisher.

Top Fundraising Team:

Ken Chyz, Bernie Trischuk, Dale Maccala, and Lorne Brown who raised a total of $11,320

Principal for a dayThree students at M.C. Knoll had an opportunity to run the show as (l-r) Addison Herman from Grade 1 assumed the role of vice-principal, kindergarten student Isobel Poloyko was prin-cipal and Grade 4 Tori Danylko became superintendent for the day. The students had the oppor-tunity to learn what each person does in their role during the day, as well as solve problems, con-duct official business and even discipline one student. Danylko also toured other schools in the division as part of her day as superintendent. The three stu-dents admit that the roles are hard work, but enjoyed being in charge for the day. They won the roles with M.C. Knoll’s Survivor fundraiser, which raised money to build a school in Haiti for Free the Children. Regular prin-cipal Tamara Hall says that she’s impressed by the leadership she sees in the students, even at their young age.
