What we do

Vdocuments.site is a small, focused tool site. We build free online converters and viewers for document, email and ebook formats that modern software has quietly stopped supporting — or never supported in the first place. If you've ever received a winmail.dat attachment you couldn't open, found an old family scan saved as DjVu, or been sent an Apple Pages document on a Windows PC, you are exactly who this site is for.

Every tool runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript: the file is read on your device, converted on your device, and the result is downloaded from your device. That design has three consequences we think matter:

Who runs the site

Vdocuments.site is an independent project, maintained by a small team of developers who got tired of paying subscription fees to open a single attachment. We fund the site through lightweight advertising so the tools can stay free for everyone.

If a tool failed on your file, telling us the file format, its size, and the program that created it helps us fix it fastest. Please don't email us the file itself if it contains personal information.

1. Your files

All converters and viewers on Vdocuments.site run entirely in your web browser. When you select a file, it is read and processed on your own device using JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on our servers, and we have no technical ability to view, copy or recover them. When you close the tab, nothing of your file remains anywhere.

2. Information we collect

We do not require accounts or sign-ups. We do not collect names, email addresses or documents through the tools. If you contact us by email, we receive the details you choose to include in that email and use them only to reply to you.

3. Cookies and analytics

Vdocuments.site may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics (such as page-view counts) to understand which tools are popular and where the site breaks. These statistics do not include the contents of any file you process. If advertising is shown, advertising partners may set cookies to measure ad performance and limit repetition; you can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time, and the tools will continue to work.

4. Third-party services

The site loads a small number of third-party resources (such as font and library files from content-delivery networks). Those providers receive the standard technical information any web request carries, such as your IP address and browser type, under their own privacy policies. Your document files are never sent to them.

5. Children's privacy

The site is a general-purpose document utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Your rights

Because we hold essentially no personal data about tool users, there is usually nothing to access or delete. If you have emailed us and would like that correspondence deleted, contact us and we will remove it.

4. No warranty

File conversion is inherently imperfect: formatting, fonts, images or embedded objects may be altered or lost, and some files (for example DRM-protected ebooks or corrupted files) cannot be converted at all.
