To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.

To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business and professional standards.

To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive and serviceable citizenship.

To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service and to build better communities.

To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.

We had a very short lived

coup d'tat this week. Mad-

ame President Victoria

Davidson was held up in

traffic and was not able to

start our

meeting, Immediate Past

Past President David Mal-

kin took charge and start-

ed the meeting at 6:40

PM. Our normal ritu-

als were observed. A very

surprised Susan Jacklin

delivered the invoca-

tion. She said she was not

prepared as she was not

aware that she was sched-

uled to do so. She quickly

came up with some nice

inspirational words. IPPP

David Malkin requested

LTG Mahmood Bashir to

fill in for Robert Barba,

and to lead us in the

Pledge of Allegiance. LTG

Mahmood Bashir was

happy to oblige. Our

"Song Master" Dave Wal-

lach led us in the singing

of the patriotic song. His

choice "Country ti's of

thee". Madame President

Victoria Davidson arrived,

thanked David Malkin for

get things going, and took

over the running of the

meeting. She requested

LTG Mahmood Bashir to

introduce Daniel Stowell

aka "Disney Dan" as a

guest for the last time as a

guest, as he was to be

inducted as our newest

member later in the

meeting .Dave Wallach

was requested to intro-

duce our guest Paul

White. Susan was request-

ed to introduce our family

member Kathy Young, the

"Energizer Bunny". Kathy

now enjoys the pleasure

of being our esteemed

guest, as she resigned her

membership to devote

time to her family and

some personal things. Last

but not least Charlie Huff

was requested to intro-

duce our guest speaker

Julian Chung. Julian later

gave a very informative

and hands on talk on

"Needle less Acupunc-

ture" Dave Wallach lead

us in our "Welcome Song".

Madame President next

acknowledged a few birth-

days, Dave Wallach

(01/19) Robert Barba

(02/05), and Chris Wallach

(02/10), and all in attend-

ance chimed in the singing

of "Happy Birthday" Next

order of business was In-

ducting Daniel Stowell as

our newest member. LTG

Mahmood Bsshir was

honored to perform the

task, and welcome Daniel

to our family. Daniel's

sponsor is Paul White, and

his mentor Dave Wallach.

Daniel is very interested in

joining the Community

Services Committee, and

expressed his desire to get

involved right away and

continue serving just as he

had been at LPI

Club. Daniel also in-

formed us that he is a

product of Kiwanis, as he

was a member of Key Club

when in high school.

Members in attendance

who welcomed Daniel as

our newest member were

Madame President Victo-

ria Davidson, Charlie Huff,

Grace Chan, David Mal-

kin, Dave Wallach, Lon

Salgren, LTG Mahmood

Bashir, Susan Jacklin,

Izzeldin Osman, Ray Jan,

and John Carmi-

chael. Dave Wallach col-

lected the food items for

Del Haven, while Madame

President circulated the

donation cans for RFL,

ELIMINATE, and Children's

Hospital. Lon Salgren sold

the Opportunity Drawing

Tickets. Our guest JuIian

pulled the winning ticket,

John Carmichael was the

lucky winner and he did

pull the blue marble this

time, taking home

$260.00 Kiwanis dollars

($26.00). Madame Presi-

dent also presented Dan-

iel Stowell a $10.00 Star-

bucks gift card which we

owed him for winning the

50/50 a few weeks back.

Madame President de-

clared everyone friendly,

so there were no fines, or

contributions to our

coffers. The "No Fines"

badge was up for grabs,

but Madame President

Victoria Davidson de-

ferred the bidding till next

week. So the badge re-

mains with , yes complete

the sentence, with LTG

Mahmood Bashir for an-

other week. In this report-

ers opinion this weeks

meeting was exceptionally

enjoyable. Everyone was

in a great jovial mood. We

told jokes, we laughed, we

enjoyed each others com-

pany and camaraderie.

We need to have some

fun, and more of it. We

missed all of our members

not in attendance. Hope

to see all of you next

week.

The Kiwanis Club of Hacienda Heights meets 7:00 am on the 1st, 2nd & 4th Wednesday of every month at IHOP, 18261 Gale Ave, City of Industry. And 3rd Wednesday, 6 pm, at Casa Blanca, 15922 Gale Ave, Hacienda Heights.

Story by David Malkin This week’s speaker was Julian Chung from LifeWave. Julian gave an interactive presentation regarding one of LifeWave’s programs, HEALTH, acupuncture with-out needles. LifeWave is composed of three compo-nents: 1. HEALTH: LifeWave’s health technologies offer

freedom from pain, stimulant-free energy, restful sleep, dramatic anti-aging benefits, reduced expo-sure to cell phone radiation and natural nutrition that has people feeling results within minutes.

2. WEALTH: LifeWave offers a Triple Action Oppor-tunity that includes exclusive products and a turn-key business system.

3. GIVING BACK: LifeWave, mission is to help others live longer, healthier lives.

Julian focused her presentation on HEALTH. Within the HEALTH component Julian presented the following paths, or patches, to wellness:

1. Energy Enhancer 2. IceWave 3. Silent Nights 4. Y-Age Glutathione 5. Y-Age Carnosine 6. Y-Age Aeon 7. SP6 Complete

LifeWave products include different patches that are focused on one of the seven (7) paths to wellness. Each patch is placed on specific prescribed parts of the body to correct imbalances, “Software For the Human

Body”. The patch can be placed directly on the skin or on top of clothing. Each type of patch is color-coded. During the meeting Julian demonstrated the use of LifeWave patches on two of our members who volun-teered: Izzeldine and Victoria. Both of the members were having some issues with pain. After the patches were applied the both felt there was a decrease in their pain symptoms. Hydration is an important ele-ment to maximize the effectiveness of the patches. Therefore, during the demonstration both of our members were encouraged to during water. If you are interested in either LifeWave HEALTH (patches); or WEALTH (becoming a distributor of LifeWave products); or GIVING BACK contact:

Story by David Malkin This week we were honored to have the owner of DLL Business Solutions, also known as DLL Technologies, who is also the President of the Kiwanis Club of Durate, Mirna de Lira Lopez. Several of our club members attended Mirna’s unique installation dinner, Thirty for Thirty. Mirna turned thirty at the time of her dinner and she split the profit from the dinner with thirty non-profits of which our club was one of them. DLL Business Solutions is made up of three divisions: DLL Biz, DLL Home and DLL Community. DLL Community is in the development stage. Mirna’s presentation focused on DLL Biz. DLL Biz tailors technology solutions for organizations using the latest products while creating a simplified and secure infrastructure. As a leading technology support firm in the community they become part of the corpo-rate team. DLL assess the IT Landscape including: Budget, Projects, Hardware, Software, Network Infrastruc-ture, Business Functions and Business Continuity. From this assessment DLL will create a managed IT Service plan tailored to the business needs including web design, antivirus, back up, data recovery, security, cloud ser-vices, and VoIP, software integration and phone. DLL Business Solutions tech support can be delivered on site, in shop, or remotely by phone or email. Mirna received support for her education through the generous help of the local Lions Club. Since then she has always wanted to give back and one reason she is a Kiwanian. This is where DLL Community will be in-volved. DLL Community is being developed to enable Mirna to take her success to help those less fortunate in the community. By Lon Salgren We had a good turnout for out monthly service project Adopt-a-Highway. Kiwanis members in attendance were Dave Wallach, Mahmood Bashir, Susan Jackiln, Kathy Young, Martha Lacomba, Anna Wu and Lon Salgren. Los Altos KIWIN'S included the Chang Clan (Jessica, Jason and Jonathan). Los Altos was also represented by Ken Horscht of the Eco Club. Los Altos Key Clubber's included Judy Chen and Jasper Lin. Glen A Wilson Key Clubber's were Andrew Wong, Min Wong, Bailey Lu, Crystal Espinosa, Sebastian Delgado, Ken Lin, Felicia Kuo and Mandy La. We assembled into 4 groups. Mahmood drove a group to Country-wood and worked westward. I drova a group to Azusa and covered from Azusa to Countrywood. Dave Wallach headed East from the base camp with a group and Marth Lacomba headed west from base camp. The combined count for cigarette butts collected this month was 1,892. For the second month in a row we managed to collect the trash from

the streets less than a day before it began to rain, so those nearly two thousand cigarette butts were kept out of our storm drains and off the beach! One incident to report during the trash collecting by my group. We were collecting trash and waiting to cross a driveway. An Asian lady was watching us. Just then a van tossed a wadded-up burger wrapper hitting her on her leg. Did you see that, how rude she exclaimed. I agreed and picked up the trash. Normally we are greeted by passing traffic with a friendly honk of thanks and encouragement. This was exactly the opposite. Thanks to everyone that helped on this community service project.

West Covina Interclub January 30, 2015

By Brad Manning, West Covina Club (Article from West Covina Newsletter) Anna Wu, our ELIMINATE Chair spoke to us today about the need complete Kiwanis’ mission of eliminating Ma-ternal Neo-Natal Tetnus in women and children world-wide. This is the 5th year of our 5 year project and we near our goal. Anna focused on the personal rather than the educational aspect of this deadly disease that affects new borns in primarily 3rd world countries. A child born with Tetnus is born in such pain that they cannot be held be-cause the touch of the mother is too painful. They live for only a few days without any chance of survival and to think less than $2.00 can save this child. That is what it takes to give this mother a couple of shots to prevent this horrible condition. Anna equated this to her own life. Her daughter, Kyra was born Lactose Intolerant and until she was diagnosed, Anna couldn’t figure out why she was crying and getting sick. In fact, she was causing this hurt in her daughter and the thought of her doing this to her own daughter was very upsetting. When she actual-ly heard about ELIMINATE after this experience, it resonated with her and she volunteered to be the Division Chair. Her passion comes through her presentation. “What would you do to save your child’s life?” The answer is universally everything, but when you ask “What would you do to save someone else’ child?” the answer vary greatlym but isn’t this a moral obligation? These children are someone’s child and they don’t have the resources or the knowledge of such a preventive measure. Only $1.80 saves a child. “How many children can you save to-day?” Anna is selling T-Shirts for $15.00 + $5.00 per line of lettering if wanted. The profits of these sales go to the ELIMINATE Project and she has hundreds left to sell in sizes S-M-L-XL. She can’t order larger shirts for those of us endowed with a healthy appetite until these are sold. Please help if you can, and if you’d like give us your pay-ment and we’ll make sure she receives it.
