Speaker of the Week - Trevor Ramos!Club Meeting, August 5, 2015!Story by David Malkin"!Trevor Ramos is a financial aid specialist and the author of How To Get Free Money For College. I need to thank Trevor for being understanding of a difficult environment to give a presentation with about 20 other customers in the same room as our meeting celebrating a birthday. Needless to say, the noise level was very high, even during his presentation. Trevor was very accommodating and even tried to involve the birthday part customers into his presentation."!

His parent, two teachers, who later divorced, raised Trevor. They did not save money for his college education. When he went to college he needed to figure out a way to pay for it. He was awarded $178,000 in financial aid by Boston University despite being told by counselors and coaches that community college was his best option. "!After his own personal achievements, he decided to devote his life and career to helping parents and student learn the truth about the college planning process and what it takes to et accepted to the college of your choice and receive thousands of dollars. In the past five years he has helped over 200 families get their students accepted by the top colleges in America for pennies on the dollar by helping those students get free money grants and scholarships, over 9 million dollars."!If you want Trevor Ramos to speak to your group or school he can be reached at, or on the following web site:"

THE KIWANISCOPESpeaker of the Week - Brad Wheelis!Club Meeting, August 12, 2015!Story by David Malkin"!This week’s speaker was Brad Wheelis, the author of The Perception Myth, A guide to Challenging Your Personal Myths and Discovering Your Inner Greatness. Due to the number of members present, Brad had a “round table’ discussion in stead of the formal presentation from the podium. "!The following is taken from Brad Whellis web site and book:"!Brad Wheelis is dedicated to helping people succeed in all aspects of their lives."!A former correspondent for ABC News, Brad’s political coverage earned him the prestigious national Edward R. Murrow award."!Brad grew up believing he was damaged goods. He had severe eye problems and suffered from a deformed chest. He overcame the body image issues and thrived in an environment where people are judged on appearance."!Brad inspires people to challenge their personal misperceptions and take action to accomplish their goals. He does both individual and corporate coaching."!Brad is the author of the book, The Perception Myth: A Guide To Challenging Your Personal Myths And Discovering Your Inner Greatness. (Skyhorse Publishing)"!Mr. Wheelis remained for an extended period of time for a question and answer period where those in attendance discussed various issues with the author. THE KIWANISCOPE!

During Kiwanis International’s centennial year, we’ve been celebrating the power of 100. But now that number represents more than just a look back at our past. Today, it became a big step forward."!Kiwanis International is pleased to announce that The Eliminate Project: Kiwanis eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus has reached US$100 million in cash and pledges."!That means the Kiwanis family has saved or protected more than 55 million lives since 2010. And it leaves us just US$10 million away from our fundraising goal of US$110 million."!Five years ago, we made a commitment. Now we’re on the verge of making history. When that moment comes ... how will you be remembered in Kiwanis history?"!Make sure you’re part of it! Give today. Then share our big news—and this big opportunity—with family, friends and others.
