Pacific Grove: A 39-year-old male Carmel Valley residentunder investigation for multiple charges came to PGPD to beinterviewed. The male was placed under arrest for felony sec-ond-degree robbery and making terrorist threats, and misde-meanor spousal battery, willful cruelty to a child and a probationviolation. Total bail was set at $66,000, and he was transferredto Monterey County Jail.

stay away from three businesses in the commercial district inCarmel or she could be arrested for trespassing.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Officer responded to Del Mar on areport of dogs being sold by a person in a truck. Officer madecontact with subjects and found they had underage puppies andwere attempting to sell them. Educational animal care given anda warning was issued. Information forwarded to city where dogowners reside.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Person reported finding a dog in theroad on San Carlos. Officer took custody of the dog, andthrough the dog’s chip, found the owner. The owner and hisfiancee have been warned for the dog at large two times sinceMarch 28. The fiancee came to retrieve the dog, and she wasissued a citation and paid the required kennel fees.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Fire engine and ambulance dispatchedto Lobos for a female in her 80s with difficulty breathing.Patient assessed, provided oxygen and transported to CHOMPby ambulance.

Pacific Grove: A 22-year-old male was contacted on DavidAvenue during a traffic enforcement stop. He was found to beintoxicated and was arrested. Subject was booked at PGPD andheld till sober.

Pacific Grove: A juvenile, age 16, reportedly ran away fromhome on Arkwright Court.

Pacific Grove: Vacant commercial building on Ocean Viewbroken into by unknown suspects. Estimated $45,000 damagedone to interior.

Pacific Grove: Dispatched to a 911 hangup where the hus-band told dispatch the wife is bipolar and upset. Upon arrival,husband answered the door and said his wife was in the backroom. She was lying on a couch and had been crying. She wasextremely upset that her husband has “too much stuff,” and shecannot cope with the clutter. She demanded the officer look inthe closet to see how many books he has. She said she wanted tohave a dumpster come so she could throw his stuff away. Shewas emotional. She declined medical. Just called 911 out offrustration. Husband said wife is bipolar and suffers fromseizures and lupus. He showed the large amount of meds shetakes daily. He said in the past she has swung at him, but he saidit is because she is mentally ill. He has never been injured. Nocharges.

Pacific Grove: Woman reported her daughter had legallyparked her car on the corner of Patterson and Benito. Unknownsubject took offense to the parking spot’s being used and placeda pornographic picture with an offensive note on the windshieldof the car. This case is for documentation purposes only.

Pacific Grove: A child’s jacket, sunglasses and a bellydancer’s scarf were found at Good Old Days.

Carmel Valley: Victim called to report a residential burglarythat occurred in November 2010. Multiple jewelry items weretaken from inside the residence on Fawn Court.

Carmel area: Unknown suspect(s) stole three credit cardsfrom victim’s wallet at Carmel Middle School in the parking lot.

Suspect(s) used one of the stolen credit cards to make a purchaseat a local restaurant.

Carmel Valley: The driver of a vehicle stopped at CarmelValley Road and Laureles Grade for vehicle code violations. Hedisplayed objective signs of being under the influence of alco-hol. Suspect was subsequently evaluated and arrested by CHPfor DUI.

SUNDAY, APRIL 10

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Vehicle found blocking the roadway onSan Carlos Street. Traffic stop conducted, and the 40-year-oldmale driver was found to be DUI. Driver was arrested andreleased on citation to his sober mother.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Dog found unattended on Scenic Roadin the City of Carmel. Dog was kenneled at CPD. Dog returnedto owner at 2010 hours after being educated on CMC dog-relat-ed laws.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: At 2332 hours, a computer-generatedmale voice “spoof ” caller sent a business owner (located outsidethe city) a message stating his business had been broken into. Nofurther phone calls were received. A business check was con-ducted, and the building on Sixth Avenue was found to besecure.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Fire engine dispatched to the policedepartment for a hazardous condition. Arrived on scene to detecta slight odor which was described as burnt plastic. The odorrapidly dissipated.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Ambulance and fire engine dispatchedto San Carlos Street for a baby with difficulty breathing. Patienttransported Code 3 to CHOMP.

Pacific Grove: Mermaid Avenue resident wanted to crimi-nally document that he was “defamed” by being wrongfullyaccused of urinating in front of a business by the business owner.He was advised he could file a civil complaint in civil court. Hethen changed his story and later reported that the business ownerthreatened to “beat the s**t out of him” if he came to the busi-ness owner’s business. He was fearful to return home. He wasadvised to return home. Area check yielded nothing of interest.Crime unfounded.

Pacific Grove: Contacted two subjects on school grounds onForest Avenue who were not students and had no lawful reasonto be there after hours. Investigative search of vehicle led to dis-covery of illegal drugs. Subject was cited at the scene for thepossession, and drugs were seized as evidence. Nothing further.

Pacific Grove: Dispatched to a past-tense theft of a walletfrom an open purse. Victim left her shopping cart unattendedand discovered her wallet missing while shopping in the store.No suspect leads.

Pebble Beach: Victim on El Bosque reported someone bur-glarized her home sometime during the last three months.

Carmel area: It was determined the subject on Outlook

Drive was under the influence of a controlled substance. Subjectwas arrested and transported to Monterey County Jail.

Carmel area: Female subject was the driver of a vehiclestopped at Highway 1 and Carmel Valley Road for vehicle vio-lations. Subject was contacted and displayed objective signs ofbeing under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance.She was subsequently evaluated and arrested for DUI by CHP.

Ortiz said he had worked with his clientsto create more green space on the propertyand modify other aspects, but George Pappasdid not want a wood house, as commission-ers had requested.

“His goal is to be sitting in the living

room looking out at the patio or studio or inthe yard, looking back at the house, lookingat plaster,” he explained. “He does not likewood.”

The Pappases reluctantly accepted theidea of having wood on the upper level of thehouse and plaster on the ground floor, Ortizsaid. They also acquiesced on some of theskylights, grapestake fencing instead of awall, less hardscape and other changes inorder to accommodate commissioners’requests.

“Thank you,” Reimers told Ortiz. “Youresponded really fantastically.”

Commissioners approved the plans afterdeciding to remove one more skylight andmake a few other changes.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: A motorist was con-tacted on Carpenter Street for a vehicle codeviolation and was found to be unlicensed. The46-year-old male driver did not have identifica-tion on his person and was arrested and trans-ported to the Carmel Police Department andultimately released with the issuance of a cita-tion. The vehicle was towed and stored with a30-day hold placed on the vehicle.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: City of Carmel wasthe victim of vandalism to property on SantaRita.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Contact made with adog owner on Ridgewood whose dog had beenobserved chasing passing cars. Informationobtained; warning given.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: A citizen reported aloose dog wandering in a courtyard on DoloresStreet. Officer responded and secured the dogon a leash and made an area check for theowner; none found, and dog transported to theCarmel Police Department kennel. Ownerinformation found via the microchip which hadoutdated information. The dog was laterreturned to owner with a warning.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: CPDassisted two citizens on SantaFe with a civil matter concern-ing property belonging to theirchild.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Asubject who had an outstand-ing warrant was contacted onSan Carlos Street. The 40-year-old male was also foundto be in possession ofmethamphetamine and amethamphetamine pipe. Hewas booked into county jail.

Pacific Grove: A 45-year-old male was a driver involvedin a collision with two parkedvehicles on PresidioBoulevard. No injuries. Arecords check indicated thesuspect’s driver’s license wassuspended. Suspect wasarrested, booked and releasedwith a citation to appear.

Pacific Grove: Attemptedto contact four juveniles in thewoods near the high schoolduring school hours. Observeda bottle of alcohol near juve-niles. Juveniles foot bailed

into the woods. Three were taken into custodyafter foot chase for truancy and possession oftobacco. The fourth juvenile was later identi-fied and taken into custody. All juveniles werecited for the offenses and suspended fromschool for running from police while beinggiven the order to stop.

Carmel area: A female hiker injured herankle while hiking approximately 1.5 miles upthe Soberanes Creek Trail. The sheriff’s searchand rescue team, Cal Fire and AMR respondedto the incident. The female was located, treatedand brought back out to the trailhead onHighway 1. She refused medical treatment andleft with her friends in their own vehicle.

Carmel area: A man stated to law enforce-ment he was not in possession of his wife’s wal-let and keys and did not know where they were.During a consent search of his vehicle at theBarnyard shopping center, her wallet and someof her keys were located. The man admitted tolying about not having the items.

Carmel area: Driver of a vehicle stopped atCarmel Valley Road and Carmel RanchoBoulevard for vehicle code violations wasfound to be driving on a suspended license.

Carmel area: An elderly woman onOutlook Terrace with significant medicalissues died of undetermined causes. TheMonterey County Sheriff’s Coroner’s divisionwas notified. This case was documented by thecoroner’s division.
