This year, we’ll join together for a Sunday like all the others, but still different. A Sunday where we’ll acknowledge that longing within our souls, a return, of sorts. We’ll gather for worship, a meal, and the warm fellowship of relationships old and new. And as we do all of this, you’ll know that wherever that love is present, you’re home. — Trent Sessoms Volume 16, Issue 10 a monthly newsletter of Knightdale Baptist Church

Please note: If for some reason you are not available to help on the day that you volunteered to work, we ask that you please don’t forget to find a replacement for yourself so

there is adequate coverage during the worship service. Also, if you have a change in the schedule for the children’s nursery or children’s church, please contact the monthly coordinator so that the change can be made prior to the printing of the worship bulletin. However, any permanent

changes in the schedule should continue to be handled by the lead coordinator.

Thank you for all your help.

Yam Jam/Fall Festival

exact time and field location

closer to October 26th!

Fall Festival (5-7pm) is an annual, family-focused event for our community

and we need YOUR help to make it a reality! This year we want to highlight KBC as

a place for Family, Friends, and Home in our

community through a meal, trick-or-treating, face-painting, bounce house and

games! Below are some ways to get involved.

Contact Rebecca West or a member of the Children and Youth Committee to sign-up

we will be collecting donations for hotdogs, buns, chips, soda and of

The Children and Youth

Committee is hosting 2 amazing community events

in 1 day! Join us Saturday, October 26th in the morning for YAM JAM and

in the afternoon for Fall Festival at KBC!

YAM JAM is a church-wide annual event to feed the

hungry. “Gleaning is the traditional biblical practice of gathering crops that

would otherwise be left in the fields to rot, or be

plowed under after harvest. The Gleaning Network coordinates volunteers,

growers, and distribution agencies to salvage this food for the needy.” Grab

some work clothes and bring a friend to participate

in this ministry opportunity and be on the lookout for more details regarding the

course, CANDY closer to

the event. More details to come!

Host a Trunk for trick-or-treating! We need at least 16 trunks to participate.

What is Trunk-or-Treat? It is a great way to host trick-or-treating in a

convenient and safe space right in the

parking lot! Everyone will decorate the trunk of their car and the kids

go from car to car playing games and

getting candy! Serve as a greeter/floater

to welcome our community

to KBC. In collaboration with the Outreach committee, we will have

information about KBC programs and upcoming

events to share with our community.

Outreach – Reaching OUT To

Welcome Others IN!

Are you planning an event or program through the end of 2019? Share it with your Outreach

committee so that we can help spread the word with our community! We are compiling a list of all KBC activities for October, November, and December.

Even if the details are not finalized, we can find a way to promote it! Do you have skills in design,

marketing or advertising? We can use your help too!

Please contact Jose Martinez or Rebecca West before October 6th to be included in our

first list of activities!

Fish Fry Dinner Coming Soon

The Spring Bazaar Committee has decided to have a fish fry fundraiser on Friday, November 1st from 11:00 AM—6:00 PM. It will be catered by Fitzgerald’s catering. Tickets will cost $10.00 each. We will need to provide desserts for people who eat in the Family Life Center. We are also setting up a craft table/booth to sell Christmas items that we have left over from the Spring Bazaar. Since we have accumulated an abundance of yard sale items upstairs we will also have a yard sale that Friday. Stay alert—You may be asked to bake desserts, or work in the drive-thru. We will need help on Thursday night, October 31st, to set up tables and chairs. Breakdown and clean up will happen on Friday night after 6:00 PM. Our goal is to sell at least 500 plates. Tickets will be available starting sometime in the middle of September.

Thanks—The Bazaar Committee

2019 Homecoming

Harvest Day Offering

This year Harvest funds will go towards resealing and striping the lower and

upper parking lots, and re-placing the A/C on the 2nd Floor of the Education

Building. You are asked to give prayerfully and gener-

ously so we might show our care for the place we call home.

Education Building

and FLC Digital Locks If you are the last person to leave one of these buildings, please double check behind you to make sure the lights are turned off, and the door is shut (the pin should be in so the door will shut) and locked. You can lock the door by simply pressing the word Schlage on the keypad. Also, if you remove the outlet covers in the FLC, please re-member to put them back when you are finished using the out-let. We need to protect our pre-school children from putting their fingers in the outlets. Thank you!

Yard Sale

Thank you for

your donations to

the yard sale. Things are being priced

as they come in and are available for

purchase (unless they are in the receiving area and have not been priced yet).

Please pay Patty for any purchases. Items are located in the Education

Building, upstairs in Room 21. If you have any

questions, contact Eddie Tart at 919-210-9651.
