Thank You

Many thanks to all of you who helped with the East Wake football meal last Friday

afternoon. We fed almost 70 kids, and they enjoyed every bite. The kids and the

coaches were extremely appreciative of the meal you provided for them, and for your

kindness in supporting them in this way. It could not have happened without all of

your help.

Thank you!

Announcements

The church office will be closed Monday, September 1st, in observance of Labor Day. New Bible Study - “If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink” (Proverbs 25:21). Forgiveness is not always easy. At times, it feels more painful than the wound suffered, to forgive the one that inflicted it. And yet, there can be no peace without forgiveness. When carried too long, residual anger becomes crippling, consuming time, energy, and ultimately, our relationships. Forgiveness is letting go of the weight that holds us down, finding freedom to truly live. It is a gift we give to ourselves, more than the other person. This September, join us on Wednesday nights as we discuss the challenges that come with learning to forgive, asking forgiveness, and finding peace through letting go. Properties Committee Meeting - Thursday, September 4th at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room. Annual Volunteer Recognition Award Service - Sunday, September 7th with a Covered Dish Luncheon in the Family Life Center to follow. Bring your favorite dish or two to share. Deacon’s Meeting - Monday, September 8th at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room. Angelic Minister’s Meeting - Tuesday, September 9th at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room. Wednesday Night Fellowship Meal Kickoff- September 10th from 5:30 - 6:30 pm (Arrival anytime between 5:30 and 6:30 pm) The menu is: BBQ Chicken, Buttered Potatoes, String Beans, Bread, Homemade Desserts and Beverages (Cheese Pizza always available) The cost is: adults (10-up) $5.00, children (4-9) $2.00 and children 3 and under free. Maximum family cost is $20.00. Reservations/cancellations must be made by noon on Monday, September 8th. Call the church office to make reservations or complete the Wednesday Night section on the “Welcome Guest” slip and drop it in the offering plate. Make sure to write your name on the slip. Personnel Committee Meeting - Thursday, September 11th at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room. Operation Christmas Child - KBC is collecting items for the Samaritan’s Purse shoebox ministry every month. For the month of September we are collecting accessories: T-Shirts/Socks, Ball Caps/Sunglasses, Hair Bows/Clips, Toy Jewelry/Watches, Flashlights/Batteries. The collection boxes are at the bottom of the stairs in the Education Building and in the hallway at the back of the Sanctuary. Thank you for your contributions! Backpack Buddies - Thank you ALL for the ongoing food donations you provide for Backpack Buddies. The weekend meals are going to children at Knightdale Elementary School who might otherwise have little or no food from Friday until they return to school Monday morning. We need lots of kid-friendly non-perishable food items to maintain this ministry (a grocery list can be found in the vestibule for you to take home). Currently we have an urgent need of all items on the grocery list. The food collection bins are located in the Education Building and the vestibule of the Sanctuary. Thank you again for supporting this ministry. Food Pantry Sunday - Today is Food Pantry Sunday, so don’t forget your food pantry donations! Supporting our local Food Pantry is an on-going mission project of the Angelic Ministers. This ministry works best when everyone donates to the food pantry and then the Angelic Ministers will make arrangements to have the food delivered to the local pantry. Food collection barrels are located

in the education building for you to place your food donations. Our local food pantry is very specific in what they give out, so please make sure you purchase only what is on the list (a grocery list can be found in the vestibule for you to take home), and please be mindful of expiration dates. They will not accept expired foods. Prayer Vigil - We are having a 16 hour prayer vigil on Saturday, September 13th beginning at 7:00 am and ending at 11:00 pm. You will never be alone in the Sanctuary. A deacon or pastor will be present at all times. Sign up sheets are available in the Fellowship Hall for you to sign up for a time slot for you and your family to come to the church and pray. There are boxes throughout the church buildings where you can add your prayer requests to the list of general concerns we as a church have. There will be a church-wide covered dish breakfast Sunday, September 14th at 8:30 am. Bring your favorites to the fellowship hall and share in a good breakfast and a time of fellowship. Drinks will be provided by the church. Bible study will follow in your own classrooms. If you don’t have a class, we will share with you what options are available. Hope to see a packed room! The Fall Senior Adult Rally is Tuesday, September 30th at Fuquay-Varina Baptist Church. “The Social Security Boys” and “The Singing Salesman” will be providing entertainment. The menu is: Chopped Barbeque, Fried Chicken, Slaw, Boiled Potatoes, Brunswick Stew, Hush Puppies and Corn Sticks, Desserts, Tea and Lemonade. The cost is $12.00, so sign up by September 14th for some fun, food, fellowship and inspiration. Sign up sheets are in your Sunday School classrooms. Please turn your money into the office by Monday, September 15th - make your check payable to Raleigh Baptist Association. Youth News - Pastor Joe is using an app as another means of sending info. Sign up by texting the words “Join Knightdale” to 704-935-2683. You will be asked to text back your name, but that’s it and it’s free. You should begin receiving texts about upcoming youth events. Sign up today!

Knightdale Community Day September 13th

Knightdale Station Park

11:00 AM - 6:00 PM

There will be food, local acts, inflatables, vendors, and rides. Emily Minor will be there

between 1:30-2:45 PM.

Knightdale Baptist Church will have a booth along with an inflatable at the Knightdale

Community Day. Now is a good time to showcase our services and programs such as Up-

ward, VBS, and Preschool. You can help by volunteering your time that day or by making

a donation to help offset the cost of renting the inflatable. If you would like to help or

need more information, please see Robin Farrington.
