Ephesians 4:22-24 instructs us to ll the place sin once occupied in our hearts andminds with attitudes and actions that are pleasing to God. As we begin a new schoolyear and as fall is fast approaching, I believe it is important that we pay close attentionto the habits in our lives. Christian virtue is more than just abstaining from sin. Itinvolves conscious choices and active behavior. Consider an empty plastic bottle.Squeeze the air out of it, and it will rell as soon as you stop squeezing. However,if you ll the bottle with water, the air stays out because it has been replaced withsomething else. The same principle applies to our spiritual lives. Trying to quit a badhabit will not succeed unless it is replaced by a good habit instead. If you want to makea habit out of attending church then begin to think of all the positive virtues that youhave gained by being in a small group Bible Study, by worshiping with other believers, and by being challenged and motivated to go into the world with the attitude and actionsof Jesus. Make church attendance your new good habit. There is so much oered foryour spiritual lives through Sunday mornings, Sunday nights, Wednesday nights, and every day of the week.

There are so many things in which I am grateful. I am grateful that Keeton Blakeneyhas agreed to be our new Communications Director along with his responsibilities asStudent Minister. I am grateful for the renewed activity from the land sale that we havebeen praying for so long. I am grateful for the miraculous work of God's spirit in thehearts of many lives as they commit themselves to Christ, to live sacricially for Him.I am grateful for the many people who work with the church and serve the church in away that produces spiritual and numerical growth. I am grateful for you.

In His Love,

Pastor Andy

Hopefully, you’ve noticed some images around the church campus lately posing the question, “What is M2O?” Well, now is the time to discover just what M2O is. Recently at yearly planning the sta sat down together to brainstorm some new ways to energize and equip the Taylor Road Baptist Church body to be the hands and feet of Christ in the greater Montgomery area. M2O was the exciting result of this discussion. Briey stated, M2O is Montgomery Missions Opportunities, “Water for the thirsty.” It will become a new way for us to look at the eective ministry of our church in light of The Great Commission. During the month of September you will have many opportunities to learn about how M2O will help our church be the hands and feet of Christ in our communities. We are asking you not only to come willing to listen and help but also to come willing to provide ideas, dreams and plans for reaching our cities, state, nation and world with the power of the Gospel. The goal of M2O is to energize and equip the body of Christ to do the work of Christ. It will help to unify the already thriving ministries of the Church while also bringing some new opportunities to reach our communities. For instance, under the vision of M2O, outreach will become a more natural and organic process to reach our communities with the Gospel. We are asking volunteers (many of those already involved in our current outreach) to sign up as “wells” for our thirsty communities. From now on, when we receive information about people looking for a church home that information will be forwarded directly to the volunteers in that guest’s neighborhood. This will enable the volunteers to connect with people who are already in their community. Thereby seeking to create a more natural bond between members of a community-- a bond that will more easily bring the transforming power of Christ to our neighbors and communities. Another opportunity within the vision of M2O is to help church members nd mission focused outlets for their abilities through the creation of Mobs (or work groups). These Mobs will be teams of lawn cutters, painters, handymen/women, tutors, etc. that will be notied of opportunities to help meet physical needs within our com-munities (inside and outside of the church body) and will be able to respond to those needs with meaningful acts of love. These are just a few of the local missions ideas linked to M2O, but M2O will also help to connect church members with mission opportunities around our nation and the world. We, as the sta at Taylor Road Baptist Church, are anxiously anticipating the ways that God will impact this world with His Gospel through His church. Be prepared to get involved and please share any ideas you have for Montgomery Missions Opportunities by emailing them to [email protected].

I’m so very thankful for those that made the Night of Praise on August 19 so successful. Our Adult Choir, Accompaniment and Media Teams made it an incredible experience. Night of Praise 2 – “Songs of Heaven” will happen on October 14 at 6:30p.m. in the Worship Center.

The Music Ministry of Taylor Road Baptist Church will be running full speed ahead this fall semester with the graded music program. Classes start September 9.

Please remember to be lifting up these teachers in prayer:

5yrs – 6yrs: April Dozier (lead instructor), Jason Till (instructor)

1st – 3rd grade: Tracy Johnson (lead instructor), Betty Gallops (instructor)

4th – 6th grade: Jessica Gamble (lead instructor), Duane Kinsaul (instructor)

Each of the classes will be starting on time and the teachers will be expressing their gratitude to all the parents who pick up their young musicians in a timely manner. Also, the teachers will be enlisting parents to assist with snacks and other functions that help the children learn.

Taylor Road Baptist Church Youth Praise Band will continue to lead their Wednesday evening worship time in the Student Center.

The TRBC Bell ringers will meet each Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m. in room B 202. They are adding some new players this semester and have already started rehearsing some seasonal tunes.

Also, the Adult Choir which rehearses regularly on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. is looking for new recruits and the Adult Choir Christmas Retreat will be September 8th from 9a.m. – Noon. The Christmas program for 2012 will be ideal for those singers who may be able to make a shorter commitment rather than be active for the entire church year.
