“Tackle the Debt” is a fall program that has been designed by the Building Finance Team to attempt to lower the principal on the current loan from $7,180,000 to below $7 Million by December 31, 2010. Please watch for mail from Taylor Road. You will be receiving information and invitations to “Tackle the Debt.”

Our rst point of focus will be PRAYER! You are invited to a Prayer Rally in the Worship Center on Wednesday night, August 4, at 6:30 P.M. There will be scripture readings, special times of prayer, and praise. As a time of consecration the Lord’s Supper will be included in this rally.

The Alabama Baptist Newspaper had an editorial in a December issue about hunger and the lack of food: “Nationally 17 million households fall into the categories of low and very low food security. Low food security means people do not get enough nutrition and calories to sustain health. Very low food security means people go to bed hungry.”

It is our month to collect food for the Helping Hands Ministry. Grocery sacks will be distributed on Sunday, August 1. We will begin collecting food on Sunday, August 8, and collect until the end of August. Please bring your lled bags to the lobby of the Education Building.

Because we are so blessed, I hope you and your family will consider sharing with those in need.

What an amazing summer! Saddle Ridge Ranch is in the books, and did we ever have a great time! Vacation Bible School always reminds us of what an awesome church family we have. We are deeply grateful to every person who sacriced their week to come and make Vacation Bible School a success. We appreciate your prayers (the real key to success in any endeavor). And we are grateful for the generous giving of Taylor Road that allows so many children from the area to have a great time while learning about God and His love for them.

Thank you, and we love you! David and Ruth Givens

Playworld Systems chose Taylor Road Baptist Church’s playground as the 2011 preschool playground of the year. In June, members of the company’s art and photo departments spent a day at TRBC conducting a photo shoot. Selected for its unique design, color and the location, the playground will appear in the company’s January 2011 catalogue. Thanks, again, to all the people who made this possible. Who knew?

It's that time of the year! We are saddened to see our graduates leave and go o to school, but we are also very excited to see our new 7th graders join us. Promotion Sunday is August the 15. We would love to welcome the new 7th graders to Refuge on Wednesday nights beginning August 11.

We have a student newsletter that is emailed on the rst of the month. If you are not on the list to receive this email, please email me in the student ministry oce to be added or on the contact page of the www.TaylorRoadStudents.org web site. This email gives times and locations of upcoming events, as well as any information that has changed recently. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Our students had an amazing week in East Chicago, Indiana. We joined students from all over the nation in repairing and rehabilitating homes, parks, and churches. Our students worked hard. We saw 23 people come to Christ during our work week. To God be the Glory. We were so excited to be a part of a World Changers week that made such an impact.

Parents, what if there was a place where your children could have fun, develop their musical gifts, play games, learn about worship, and learn basic music theory – all for FREE???

There is! Our children’s choir program is oered each Sunday at 5:30 p.m., and it oers all this and more. Your kids will be learning and having fun in a loving environment. And with fall just around the corner, it won’t be long before we begin working on the kids’ favorite - our Christmas musical!

If your children aren’t in choir, why not start bringing them now? Sunday, August 15 begins our new year – there’s no better time for them to join!
