Kaohsiung, Taiwan's second largest city, is located in the south of the island. It has the biggest port in Taiwan. Hence, it is known as the Harbor Capital. When you arrive at Kaohsiung, you will visit Fo Guang Shan Buddha Memorial Centre. At there you can check out the 50 meters high landmark “Fo Guang Big Buddha.” Your next stop is British Consulate At Takow. It is located in 30 meters high hill and next to the cliff and port. In the late afternoon, you will visit one of most beautiful subway stations in the world “The Dome of Light.” Your first day tour will end at Liuhe Night Market. You can taste famous seafood congee, papaya milk and many other Taiwanese local delicacies! On the second day, we will leave for Kenting. Kenting is one of the popular and enchanting Taiwan destinations among foreign travelers. You will have two full days to have fun in Kenting. Because of its tropical climate, Kenting really is a paradise of leisure and fun in summer season. Visitors can experience a variety of beach activities and plenty of land activities as well. One more place you will not miss is Kenting street market. At the night market, you may find many stores and vendors selling souvenirs and accessories, food stalls and restaurants serving a wide array of traditional Taiwanese snacks. On the last day, you will travel back to Kaohsiung and take High Speed Rail again back to Taipei. Tour ends when you arrive at Taipei and own arrangement afterwards.

Fo Guang Shan Buddha Memorial Centre

The British Consulate At Takow Located on a hilltop overlooking Sizihwan, the Former British Consulate was built in 1865 with red-bricked archways, displaying unique, old British colonial style architecture. This 145 year old building is now the most antique western building preserved in Taiwan which is also listed as the second-class historic spot. The baroque styled building was designed by a British engineer and built by Chinese craftsmen.

The Fo Guang Shan is established in 1967, it is the largest Buddhist organization in Taiwan. When the founder Master Hsing Yun held the Bodhgaya International Full Ordination in India, a Tibetan lama Kunga Dorje Rinpoche gave the last remaining tooth relics of Gautama Buddha . Because the Fo Guan Shan promote cultural exchange about Buddhism lone time, he hoped the tooth relics can preservation forever. It symbolize the everlasting presence of the Buddha dharma. The center is opened in 2011, and the area is over 100 hectares. The landmark “Fo Guang Big Buddha” is 50 meters high. It is the highest seated bronze-made in the world. You can appreciate Buddhist art work, knowledge and learn life education during the visit.

Highlights The Dome of Light The dome of light is located in upper part of the MRT Formosa Boulevard Station. It is the biggest public art installation in the world. The artwork is made by Maestro Narcissus Quagliata, an international artist. The area is 660 square meters divided into 4 creative theme: water, earth, light and fire. The amazing art piece spans a 30-meter diameter, as visitors walk around, views of story of human life, transitioning from the section that represents water, the womb of life, to earth, which embodies the act of growing and prospering are to be seen. There are also sections on light and fire, the latter representing on the one hand destruction and on the latter rebirth. The main message that pervades the dome, however, is one of love and tolerance.

Liuhe Tourist Night Market

In daytime, the Liuhe 2nd road is only a straight, wide road, but it turn into a night market in the evening! Over 170 vendors, the Liuhe Night Market is the most famous night market in Southern Taiwan. You can eat mackerel thick soup, seafood congee, roast meat, Dongshan duck head, parity price steak…….and other Taiwanese famous food!

Hengchun Old Town

In 1874, the Japanese punitive expedition to Taiwan (Mudan incident), the Viceroy of Liangjiang, Shen Baozhen and Qing dynasty decided to establishing the town with brick wall to reinforce management. The town is established in 1879, the facility include government office, fort, well and many temple. the walls are 13 meters high and 2600 meters long. In 20th century, the brick wall was destroy by wars, typhoon and Earthquake several times. Finally, the old town only remain 4 gates and was designated a national monument.

Kenting National Park

The Kenting National Park is the first national park in the Taiwan, covering the southernmost area of the Taiwan island along Bashi channel. The attraction is one of the most favorite resort places in Taiwan, many people do water and land activities in summer. The Houbihu is the biggest fishing harbor in Kenting, and is a great place for water activities, such as snorkeling, airship and banana boat. You also can eat seafood in a local restaurant. The Kenting is a southern part of Hengchun township; The middle part is downtown, the eastern part and Manjhou township inland are surrounded by the mountain, the land activities are popular, such as sand crawling and water crossing in jeep and mini F1 kart racing. The Eluanbi Lighthouse is established in 1883, it is located on the southernmost point of Taiwan, with a height of 18 meters and circumference of 110 meters, a strong optical power of light that can reach 20 miles at most, some people said it is “The Light of East Asia”. In the evening, thousands of locals and foreigner come to Kenting street night market, you can eat a sausage, hot dog, sweet potato ball and other food. Here also have souvenir store, restaurant, bar, you can experience exotic atmosphere.
