David A. LeBlanc, 63, of Nottingham, passed away on June 9, 2016 atBrigham and Women’s Hospital in Bos-ton with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Manchester on August22, 1952, the son of Donald and Simone(Lemire) LeBlanc. He graduated fromManchester High School West and wasalso a graduate of NH Technical Col-lege and New Hampshire College (nowSNHU). David A. LeBlancBosco. He had also been a member ofthe NH Army National Guard.

Family members include his wife of 43years, Cheryl (Roy) LeBlanc; two sons,Lee LeBlanc and his wife Maureen ofMiddletown, CT, and Michael LeBlancand his wife Kelly of Tucson, AZ; fourgrandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, Felix, and Theodore; a brother, Peter LeBlancof Nottingham; two sisters, EmilyLeBlanc of Rye, and Elise Gauvin ofPenn Yan, NY; and nephews, nieces, andcousins.

I met David only a few years ago whenI had some things he was willing tohandle for me on EBay.

Right away, I knew I had a friend and Icould trust his opinions and judgment. Some people simply come across as aperson you wished you had met longago. Certainly, David struck me thatway.

I think we had fun discussing lots ofthings about cars initially, and then I re-alized David had a huge field of generalknowledge. He was a talented man withvery broad interests and know how, which he generously shared.

I shall miss him and his cheerful pres-ence.

David was always very nice and wel-coming to Marianne and me. We haddriven over from Vermont last year tothe Show of Dreams car show. Hewanted to show me his Austin Healeyand as we were headed over to his car,his name got called as a winner. He gotthe wine glasses he won and came backover to us. I remarked, nice glasses, sohe gave them to us, just like that! Wewere very impressed and now when weuse them, it means even more. Provingwhat a very nice guy he was. We misshim.

I met Dave after attending a couple carshows , and more particularly, relatedto his success at getting Bronze recog-nition at the “concourse level” at theAustin Healey Conclave in Quebecback a few years. We both being pride-ful Austin Healey owners there was aninstant good friendship and alwayssomething to talk about with the Healeymarque cars or any other British clas-sics. He was quite proud of his restora-tion effort and well should have beenhaving done most of it himself. Wealways seemed to both be attracted toattending British Invasion in Stowe, VTand sat and chatted often. Dave was anavid club member of AHCA and BCNHwhere we often talked. His passing wastoo early in life. We will all miss youDave.Don Margeson

A couple ofweeks later and I have yet to write some-thing, I guess I’d call it writers block. Howcan I possibly put into words how veryspecial David was? He may have been

It has been very gratifying to see asteady increase both in “Memberships”and in the number of Members that at-tend both the Regular Monthly Meet-ings and the events that we schedulewith the express purpose of getting to-gether to enjoy our cars and the fellow-ship of other “car people.” Three orfour years ago we averaged between25 and 30 Members at Monthly Meet-ings, last year attendance was between40 and 45, recently we have been hov-ering at around 65 in Manchester – withanother 20 getting in on the fun with theLakes Region and North “Council”meetings at the Common Man up in Ply-mouth, and now last week we had 20people gather at the Orchard StreetChop Shop in Dover for the first of-ficial meeting of the BCNH Sea-coast Council. (See Meeting Datesand Places on the front page of this is-sue.) Altogether, that means that about100 people are now able to get in onthe fun that the Manchester based grouphas been having for years.

And having the three regional Councilsallows us to do some experimenting thatwe haven’t been able to do in the past. The Lakes Region and North Coun-cil has decided to try doing a mid-week evening drive instead of hold-ing a “regular” monthly meeting –

at least for the next month or two.We don’t know if this will work – or not– but now we have the luxury of beingable to give it a try.

Back to “Memberships” – we are nowofficially at an all-time high of 258 Mem-berships – which is up by 46 from lastyear, a 21% increase. Considering thatmost “Memberships” are actuallycouples, that means that our total groupis now closer to 450-500.

So, if you are one of the 500, but notone of the 100 coming to Monthly Meet-ing, then let me invite you to give theMeetings a try. Although the Meetingsin all three locations officially start at7:00, most people arrive between 6:00and 6:30 - both so they can get some-thing to eat and so they can socializebefore the meeting starts.

These are not “Business Meetings.”The primary purpose of our meetingsis to meet. Once the meeting does startwe spend most of our time talking aboutwhat we did together during the previ-ous month and what “opportunities” wehave to getting for together during thecoming months.

Now I know that all of the scheduling isalready very well covered in the News-letter and on the website (thank youVERY MUCH Calendar Girl SueMacDuff) but hearing the stories of whatfun other members have had brings thoseevents to life – and helps members that

have not attended specific events in thepast to decide which ones they may wantto attend in coming months.

And that brings up a point that is worthrepeating (again.) “The Club” doesn’tplan these events, the Members do. TheClub may have “officers” – but there isno “staff.” Things happen becauseMembers make them happen. Andthere is certainly A LOT happening atBCNH.

Jerry & Inge Griffin have scheduledthree Drives this year that we have neverdone before, and Bob & Judy Schenkhave agreed to pick up on the NH Wa-terfall Tour. I’m looking forward tothat one. It really should make a beauti-ful day.

One thing we have not done enough –and that I believe we need to do – isto plan at least some events that appealto potential younger members. “Look-ing around the room” it’s not hard to seethat the average age of our current mem-bership is well north of 50. If we wantour “hobby” to continue, we really doneed to bring along the next generation.

We already have such an event sched-uled. At this year’s Show of Dreamsmember Pinch Polenchar will workwith a group of Boy Scouts/CubScouts to implement the JuniorJudges Program put together by theHagerty Insurance Company – see

Let me suggest that we each considerbringing along a son/daughter (or grand-son/granddaughter) for at least oneBCNH outing this summer. Maybe a fewof them may find that they enjoy this asmuch as we do. And please be thinkingabout other activities that might appealto that next generation. We need them!!

I also encourage you to check out theEvents calendar on the www.BCNH.orgwebsite to see all of the other “opportu-nities” that there are to get together withfellow BCNHers – and members of othercar clubs – to enjoy your car(s) and theirfellowship.

As we have said so many times before, the reason this club has so many inter-esting things to do is because its mem-bers do so many interesting things. Please help us to keep that interest levelhigh.

The Members that have the most fun arethe ones that are there to get in on it.So Saith Prime Minister Bob

Manchester MeetingMinutes

The July meeting was called to order at7:02 pm by Prime Minister Bob. Themeeting minutes for June and thetreasurer’s report were accepted as readin the last newsletter. We had 58 mem-bers in attendance and one new mem-ber.

Sandy Wingate is from Pittsfield and hasa checkered past as far as British carsgo starting with a mini Moke. He cur-rently has several TR6’s in pieces and a1959 MGA.

Bob then proceeded to pick on PearlColby who managed to make the meet-ing this month all the way fromManchester. She has a 1959 VauxhallVictor which was in the parking lot alongwith a bunch of other British cars.

We started by reviewing the activitiesfrom last month. No one at the meet-ing made it to the British by the Sea carshow, we all chickened out because ofthe weather report. There were manyof us on the Lupine ride. One activitythat was well attended was the Queen’sbirthday which included a cut throatgame of croquet and too much food, thank you Elliot and Jaimee for havingus. We apologize for drooling over yourcars and garages. A few attended theraces at Thompson Speedway withtheir cars and were rewarded with aparade lap around the course. We alsohad 45 people attend the Sunapee Din-ner Cruise – we had a beautiful ride onthe lake.

We were rained on at the Castle in theClouds show. The British class waswell attended wellies and all. Therewere also several members who par-ticipated in the July 4th parade inAmherst. It was a busy month!

The first official seacoast council meet-ing will be held this month. Instead of ameeting in Plymouth the Lakes andMountain region will be having a driveon the night of the meeting.

Sue and Denice reviewed the upcom-ing calendar. If you plan to attendStowe and take advantage of the re-duced rate at the Commodore’s Inn youneed to book now!

We then reviewed the Show of Dreamsupdate – there are 129 cars pre-regis-tered, we have 20 vendors and we havejunior judges from the cub scouts com-ing to the show. Bob Stanley modeledthe T-shirt and was oohed and aahed.

The not 50-50 raffle to benefit the porta

potty fund was won by Chuck Connors. We collected $180 towards the potty, make sure you come to the show and useit.

A small man in stature but as everyoneknows he was larger than life.

It goes without saying that he was gener-ous with his time, passion and knowledgeof antique cars. Beyond that there wasan “other” wisdom about him that waspalpable. It was easy to sense that thisman did not sweat the small stuff. Hewas a man that truly “lived” life becausehe knew how delicate life was.

My husband Elliot bought his AustinHealey in August of 2011, and joinedBCNH soon after. He was excited to at-tend his first BCNH social event at a Pizzaplace in Dover, I can’t remember if it waslate 2011 or early 2012. In any case, Ihad to work so I did not get there untillater in the evening. When I finally gotthere I found Elliot sitting with a lovelycouple; he introduced me to Cheryl andDavid. There was something very famil-iar about David. He reminded me that Ihad met him many years earlier at New

Hampshire Oncology following his stemcell transplant. Small world. David andCheryl welcomed us into the BCNHfamily and we became fast friends. Icall recall Cheryl’s story about whenthey had to board their bird “Simon”for a year while David recovered fromstem-cell transplant. Cheryl droppedthe bird off and explained to “Simon”that this would only betemporary…”Simon” apparently hadsome choice words for her…which Iwill not repeat.

David, had come to the house manytimes to help Elliot “fiddle” with hisHealey. In 2012 David, Elliot and Pe-ter Borrone caravanned to British ByThe Sea, David’s car deservedly wonthe class. The pride David had for hiscar was obvious. This was not a carbought “as is” to put into car shows. This car was a full restoration. Years ofDavid’s blood sweat and tears werededicated to this car, to getting it right. So in the summer of 2013, Elliot and Ias well as David and his brother Petertrailered the cars to Charlevoix Que-bec Canada for the Austin Healey Con-clave. He entered his car in Concoursclass and after several hours of tedious, meticulous judging his black and redbaby earned a bronze. While David andElliot were attending some gear-headmeeting, his brother Peter and I had adrink and a bite to eat. It was then thatPeter explained why he had come tothe show. He explained how that carhad kept David focused and “alive” withthe goal of entering it into this show.Peter admitted he was thrilled the cargot bronze instead of silver or gold be-cause it gave David something to strivefor.

David LeBlanc Tributes continued from page 3

As the Healey was the embodiment ofhis will to live, the MG was the personi-fication of his relationship with Cheryl.A symbol of their marriage. The littleMG was there from the beginning, andnurtured through time, children, homes, and careers. The car in and of itself is

On Wednesday, July 13th, twenty fourmembers packed the Fireside Room atthe Orchard Street Chop Shop in Do-ver NH for the Seacoast Council monthlymeeting. Seasoned and new membersstarted arriving at 6:00 p.m., beveragesof choice appeared and lively discussionsensued.

Council Minister Bob Morneau was un-able to attend due to a scheduling con-flict. Although the meals hadn’t yet ar-rived, PM Bob Mitchell gaveled themeeting to order at 7:00 p.m. He an-nounced that Bob Morneau had agreedonly reluctantly to take on the positionof Minister and was still hoping thatsomeone else would step forward. PMBob hoped that someone in the areawould agree to assume the role. The ideaof having Co-Ministers was also aired;at that point Rob Gardner agreed to beMinister, hoping that a Co- could befound in case of scheduling conflicts. BenMorong had previously volunteered assecretary.

PM Bob had arranged that we’d meetat the Chop Shop for our July and Au-gust meetings, but stressed that a meet-ing place, date and time were not set instone but yet to be determined by theSeacoast Council.

Next were introductions around theroom, as members stood to announcenames, home towns and vehicles, andrelate their stories of how they caughtthe British car bug.

Bob and Diana Stanley discussed ourupcoming Show of Dreams (Saturday,July 23rd), passed out posters and regis-tration forms, and invited one and all tothe final planning committee meeting attheir home in Barnstead on Saturday the16th at 4 p.m.

Another event happens the next day: on

Sunday the 24th the Porsche Club ofAmerica car show at Porsche ofStratham, NH, a benefit for Make-A-Wish of New Hampshire, will include aBritish car class.

We reviewed the prior month’s activities, the upcoming month’s activities, andthose further out that would need advanceplanning and/or reservations.

PM Bob suggested that any member mayrequest and he will provide a copy of theclub membership roster (for private use,NOT for public distribution) so that mem-bers may communicate with others in theirarea for impromptu rides, get-togethers,etc.

We agreed to meet again at the ChopShop on August 10th, and the meetingadjourned at 8:20.Respectfully submitted,Ben Morong,Seacoast Council Secretary

Barnstormers Play“Sylvia”

Six BCNH members, Leo and ShirleySpencer, Karen and Don Irving andChuck and Diane Connors, met at Jake’sSeafood Restaurant in Center Ossipeefor dinner. After dinner we drove overto the Barnstormers Theater inTamworth.

Leo and Shirley Spencer are seasonticket holders and picked up tickets forall of us at a reduced price. We had todrive at breakneck speed to get thereon time. We parked and ran inside. Theplay “Sylvia” was hysterical.

After the show we went to our cars andfound that Leo had left his lights on andthey were about 0.05 candle power.Leo, kiddingly, yelled at Shirley andasked why she left the lights on. Shirleytold us that she thinks Leo married herjust to have someone to blame. Wepushed his car down the hill but the bat-tery was too low to jump start the car.Leo called his brother and he came overwith a jump box and he was on his way.

Dave LeBlanc will also be missed. Thebest memory I have of Dave is his winat Stowe when he took home the Bestof Show trophy. He was surprisedand very pleased to have won. He de-served to win, he was so meticulousabout his beautiful Austin Healey. I re-member him telling me some of the de-tails of how he searched for and foundnew old stock for parts that he needed. He was also very careful to make sure

On June 24 Daine and I went to the Th-ompson Motor Speedway to watch EarlTucker race but his car had some issuesso he did not come down. I and otherBritish cars did get to take three laps (witha pace car) and it was fun.

beautiful but the story behind that car istruly special and one to envy. My heartaches for Cheryl. What a wonderful, kind soul. Her loss is so great and mywords so small. Elliot and I are luckyenough to live close to the Leblancs. Wewere fortunate enough to spend severalevenings out on their back deck drink-ing beer and talking all things dogs andcars.

Elliot and I may not have known theLeblancs as long as most but in the shorttime we did, it felt like we had beenfriends forever. The love between themis something you don’t come acrossevery day. Each car event is lacking alittle joy. “Walter White” wherever youare…you left a void that can never befilled. Rest well my friend, until we allmeet again.

Castle in the CloudsCar Show

The Castle in the Clouds car show wasjust that and more, with rain, sun, andsome great looking cars. The show wasorganized by Marty and Elliot Groverwho are members of BCNH and on theboard for the Castle in the Clouds. Theturnout was quite small because of theinclement weather. We did, however, have a good turnout by our club mem-bers. The skies opened up at around2:00 pm and most everyone made ahasty departure before the awards weregiven out.

Shirley Splaine did stay, her J6 was un-der a canopy, and she won the FeaturedClass Award.

Because the club is growing quitequickly, it has been suggested that weadd a segment to the newsletter thatwould include photos of new and long-standing members along with their carsso as to place a name with a face and/or car. You could also include the yearyou joined the club or a short piece onhow you became a British car owner.

It was also suggested that because weare an “eating and drinking club with acar problem,” that we should add aRecipe of the Month segment to thenewsletter to share all our favorite reci-pes with one another. It can be an ap-petizer, main dish, desert, mixed drink, etc. A photo of the dish would also beappreciated.

These new segments can only hap-pen with your help! Please submit allphotos, recipes and stories to ChuckConnors [email protected]. To startthese two segments off, I have includedone of our favorite recipes and a photoof Diane and I with our 1958 BugeyeSprite.

I would also like to take this opportu-nity to thank all of you who have helpedto make this newsletter happen eachmonth by submitting your stories andarticles, suggestions, and especiallythose who proof read the newslettereach month. Please keep up the goodwork!

July 21, 2016Eight members of BCNH met up at theCommon man parking lot in Plymouth,NH. In lieu of the monthly meeting wedecided to take the show on the roadand just hop in our cars and go for aride. Members Pete & Linda Wirth, Karl& Kellie Braconier, Shirley Splaine &Russ Poirer and Peter Brown & SusanDakin left, some opting for the twistingcurves through Rumney and Grotonwhile others took a slightly shorter routeto the BINN (Bridgewater Inn).

After chatting for a bit we headed outtowards fairgrounds road and pickedup Route 25 to the rotary and headedsouth on Route 3A to the foot ofNewfound Lake via the north end andwest side of the lake. It was a reallybeautiful night for a top down cruise aswe wound our way around the ledgesand followed the lakes shoreline. Fol-lowing West Shore road around the lakewe came full circle back to Route 3Aand headed north to the BridgewaterInn where we met up with anothercouple, Nancy & Alain Rousset whodrove over in their 68 Jag XKE.

We had a nice dinner and really got achance to chat about our cars and themany trips and trials and tribulations thatcome with being a British car owner.

Sorry to say we did not have a chanceto take pictures of the crew as westarted from different points and whenwe ended up at the Bridgewater Inn ourappetites kicked in and we did not hangaround the parking lot for a photo op.

We tried this out for the first time in placeof the monthly meeting and think thatthe people who did join the ride anddinner had a very pleasant evening! Please let us know if you are interestedin joining us for a similar venue in lieu of

our Northern Council August Meeting.Plan is to resume regular meetings forSeptember. Please [email protected] or call (603) 744-8444.Respectfully submitted,Karl & Kellie B

As I'm preparing the MGB for our tripto Nova Scotia for the British MotoringFestival, I'm reminded of the times Fredand Sylvia accompanied us in Fred'sMGA.

If I remember correctly, Fred was theoriginal owner of the A, or at least he'downed it for a long time. At any rate, itwas well maintained and never causedany trouble on our trips. Nor did Fredor Sylvia. Great traveling companionsand Charlotte and I will miss him. Norman Michaels

Fred Newton Scott Goodrich, 83, ofBarnstead, passed away Monday, June13, 2016, at his home in Alton Bay.

Fred was born in Providence, R.I., onFebruary. 16, 1933. He was the fourthchild and second son of Robert M andMarion Scott Goodrich. He was agraduate of Moses Brown School andwent on to the University of Rhode Is-land for his BSEE and Pepperdine Uni-versity for his MBA. He is survived byhis wife, Sylvia; his children, son, ScottGoodrich of Hancock and daughters,Jeannette Mahlen and Keri Tate of Se-attle, Washington.; five grandchildrenand four great-grandchildren as well asmany extended family members. His sis-ter, Grace Goodrich Ward of Cincin-nati, also survives him. His siblings,Robert M. Goodrich Jr. of Rochester,N.Y., and Marilyn Goodrich Guentherof Syosset, NY, preceded him in death.

Fred enjoyed traveling with his wife,Sylvia, and cherished his time with theirfamilies. He was an active outdoorsmanand continued to alpine ski, golf and sailup until his death. He was an avid NewEngland sports fan and nearly alwayshad some sporting event on TV. He wasa member of the British Car Club andenjoyed numerous hobbies includingrestoring cars (especially his MG’s),woodworking, rowing, and tinkeringwith any mechanical or electrical devicethat needed attention. Fred was also apilot and had a plane in his youngeryears. He proudly served in the U.S.Army in Germany post World War II.Fred was an integral member of the teamthat designed and installed the radarsystems on the USS Enterprise.

Fred was an engineer at his core. Heworked for Hughes Aircraft for manyyears and later RCA and MITRE Corp.He was also a successful businessmanand co-founded Cellular Specialties, Inc.

with his son Scott. He was very proudthat the company grew to employ nearly200 people. The ideals and contributionshe made touched the lives of many andhe will be remembered for his kindness, earnestness and his dry sense of humor.

Fred Goodrich

is good friend of neighbor of mine. I likedFred first time met him! I met him whileskiing at Gunstock. He was with Sylvia. He skied well as does she and the men-tion of classic cars cemented the meet-ing of Fred. He was a talented gentle-man with a soft style about him and hadmany talents; restoring cars, a craftsmanin his workshop, traveled extensively forbusiness and pleasure, an electrical en-gineer I believe with a stellar career es-pecially in entrepreneurship with inven-tions of communication and other elec-trical devices and systems that provedsuccessful. Whenever I was at a carshow or BCNH meeting I always had achance to chat with both he and Sylvia. He was low key and not boastful of hissuccess in life. He loved life and his pass-ing was unexpected. God Bless you Fred.

The first time I met Fred & Sylvia wasat a British Marque Triathlon at JiminyPeak. I assume they were membersbefore that but they certainly joined inthe fun that weekend. We did not winthe Triathlon that year but we made agood attempt. The year we did win theTriathlon , Fred and Sylvia were in theirJaguar F-Type. I remember when hebought the F-Type – he brought it tothe Queen’s Birthday party at Paul andDoris’s house in Milford and quietly an-nounced he had purchased a new car. We all went to the front yard to take apeek and there it was – the first F-Typein the club and everyone offered to beadopted. We miss your smiling face.Norma Karle

We first met Fred at the 20th British In-vasion, our first trip. When we all wentout to dinner that first night we got pairedup with Fred and Sylvia for dinner be-cause the restaurant could not place usall together.

Dinner was, as always when the clubattacks a restaurant, slow to arrive sowe had plenty of time to get to speakwith them concerning all the things peoplediscuss when they first meet, life, family, jobs and of course cars. As many of youknow, Fred's history was fantastic tohear about. It is amazing all the thingshe was able to accomplish and the placeshe had been.

The conversation took an interesting turnwhen he talked about his more recentbusiness, Cellular Specialties, because Irecognized the name as my brother inlaw had recently joined Fred's company.I quickly took a picture of Fred and sentit to my brother-in-law stating that "I mayhave just got you fired!" It is funny howdifferent lives can be connected.

We ended up having a great weekend atStowe and the four of us left a little earlyto drive down Rt 100 back to NH. I didall I could do to exceed the speed limitthe entire trip and loose Fred during thatdrive but he stayed right with me in theMGA. We enjoyed his company formany years after that and he will be sorelymissed.Wayne and Cindy MacLeay

I met Fred through his wife Sylvia, who

To the citizens of the UnitedStates of America from Her

Sovereign MajestyQueen Elizabeth II:

(Not meant for those lacking a senseof humor, and or those that refuse toread a note in its entirety beforemaking a comment)

In light of your immediate failure to fi-nancially manage yourselves and also inrecent years your tendency to elect in-competent Presidents of the USA andtherefore not able to govern yourselves,we hereby give notice of the revocationof your independence, effective imme-diately. (You should look up ‘revocation’in the Oxford English Dictionary.)

Her Sovereign Majesty Queen ElizabethII will resume monarchical duties overall states, commonwealths, and territo-ries (except Kansas , which she does notfancy).

Your new Prime Minister, DavidCameron, will appoint a Governor forAmerica without the need for furtherelections.

Congress and the Senate will be dis-banded. A questionnaire may be circu-lated sometime next year to determinewhether any of you noticed.

To aid in the transition to a British Crowndependency, the following rules are in-troduced with immediate effect:

1. The letter ‘U’ will be reinstated in

words such as ‘colour,’ ‘favour,’ ‘labour’ad ‘neighbour.’ Likewise, you will learnto spell ‘doughnut’ without skipping halfte letters, and the suffix ‘-ize’ will be re-placed by the suffix ‘-ise.’Generally, youwill be expected to raise your vocabu-lary to acceptable levels. (look up ‘vo-cabulary’). (I love that one)

2. July 4th will no longer be celebratedas a holiday.

3. You will learn to resolve personal is-sues without using guns, lawyers, ortherapists. The fact that you need somany lawyers and therapists shows thatyou’re not quite ready to be indepen-dent. Guns should only be used forshooting grouse. If you can’t sort thingsout without suing someone or speakingto a therapist, then you’re not ready toshoot grouse.

4. Therefore, you will no longer be al-lowed to own or carry anything moredangerous than a vegetable peeler.

5. All intersections will be replaced withroundabouts, and you will start drivingon the left side with immediate effect. Atthe same time, you will go metric withimmediate effect and without the benefitof conversion tables.

6. The former USA will adopt UK priceson petrol (which you have been callinggasoline) of roughly $10/US gallon. Getused to it.)

7.You will learn to make real chips. Those things you call French fries are notreal chips, and those things you insist oncalling potato chips are properly calledcrisps. Real chips are thick cut, fried inanimal fat, and dressed not with catsupbut with vinegar.

8. The cold, tasteless stuff you insist oncalling beer is not actually beer at all.Henceforth, only proper British Bitter willbe referred to as beer, and Europeanbrews of known and accepted prov-enance will be referred to as Lager. NewZealand beer is also acceptable, as New

Zealand is pound for pound the greatestsporting nation on earth and it can onlybe due to the beer.

9. Hollywood will be required occasion-ally to cast English actors as good guys.Hollywood will also be required to castEnglish actors to play English characters.Watching Andie Macdowell attemptEnglish dialogue in Four Weddings anda Funeral was an experience akin to hav-ing one’s ears removed with a cheesegrater.

10. You will cease playing Americanfootball. There are only two kinds ofproper football; one you call soccer, andrugby (dominated by the NewZealanders). Those of you brave enoughwill, in time, be allowed to play rugby(which has some similarities to Ameri-can football, but does not involve stop-ping for a rest every twenty seconds orwearing full Kevlar body armour like abunch of nancies).

11. Further, you will stop playing base-ball. It is not reasonable to host an eventcalled the World Series for a game whichis not played outside of America . Sinceonly 2.1% of you are aware there is aworld beyond your borders, your erroris understandable. You will learn cricket, and we will let you face the Australians(World dominators) first to take the stingout of their deliveries.

12. You must tell us who killed JFK. It’sbeen driving us mad.

13. An internal revenue agent (i.e. taxcollector) from Her Majesty’s Govern-ment will be with you shortly to ensurethe acquisition of all monies due (back-dated to 1776).

14. Daily Tea Time begins promptly at 4p.m. with proper cups, with saucers, andnever mugs, with high quality biscuits(cookies) and cakes; plus strawberries(with cream) when in season.

God Save the Queen!
