About this XPS to PDF tool

XPS (XML Paper Specification) and its successor OXPS were Microsoft's fixed-layout document formats, produced for years by the “Microsoft XPS Document Writer” printer in Windows. Microsoft retired the XPS Viewer, and most non-Windows devices have never opened these files at all — yet archives are full of XPS invoices, statements and print jobs.

Why won't my XPS file open?

Windows removed the XPS Viewer from newer installs and other platforms never supported the format. Converting to PDF is the reliable fix.

What's the difference between XPS and OXPS?

OXPS is the standardised OpenXPS version (Windows 8 onwards). Windows' own viewer famously won't open OXPS in older versions. This tool accepts both.
