About this MHT to PDF tool

MHT (MHTML) bundles a web page and all its images into a single MIME file — it was Internet Explorer's “Web Archive, single file” save format, and Word and some email workflows produced them too. With IE retired, MHT files are increasingly orphaned: Chrome and Edge open some, most other apps open none.

MHT is really a multipart email-style container, and this tool parses it exactly that way in your browser: it extracts and renders the archived page so you can read it as intended, then produces a PDF you can keep or share.

How to use it

  1. Drop your .mht or .mhtml file onto this page and press Convert.
  2. Preview the archived page exactly as it was saved.
  3. Download the PDF version for permanent, portable archiving.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between MHT and HTML?
A saved HTML page is a folder of separate files; an MHT file packs the page, images and styles into one self-contained file, encoded like an email with attachments.
Which programs created MHT files?
Mainly Internet Explorer (“Save as → Web Archive, single file”), plus Microsoft Word and some versions of Opera and Edge.
Can I just rename .mht to .pdf?
No — the formats are unrelated. The file has to be parsed and re-rendered, which is what this converter does.
Are the page's images included?
Yes — images embedded in the MHT archive are decoded and shown in the preview, and included when the PDF is generated from the rendered page text and structure.
