HOW BIG IS

YOUR DREAM?

THE PATHS YOU TAKE ARE ENDLESS,

THE PATHS YOU TAKE ARE ENDLESS,

ONE THING’S FOR SURE: YOU KNOW YOU WANT YOUR LIFE TO HAVE MEANING. You want to use your skills … and leverage your gifts. You want to understand your potential … and fulfill it.You want to encounter your world … and change it.You want to push your limits … and excel in whatever you choose to do.

WE GET THAT. AND ST. EDWARD’S IS THE PLACE

CREATE IT AT ST. EDWARD’S.

DARE TO DREAM BIG.

At St. Edward’s, you dig deep for answers to questions about ethics, philosophy or science. You examine issues from all angles, especially ones you disagree with. Here, curiosity is rewarded, and open minds fit right in. Rooted in our Holy Cross, Catholic tradition, your education stands for academic challenge, diversity, collaboration and service to others. Your time here prepares you to be a well-rounded thinker, to solve problems and communicate effectively, and to see the world from different points of view. You speak up for what matters to you — and take action.

DIVE INTO YOUR DISCIPLINE. Conduct advanced research or creative work in your major that prepares you for graduate school and your career. Collaborate with faculty members or work independently on the type of research larger universities usually reserve for graduate students. Publish and present your work regionally and nationally.

GET HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE — BEFORE GRADUATION.Apply your classroom learning in the workplace and build your résumé. Land internships in Austin, across the country or abroad with organizations such as:

• Center for Child Protection • Deloitte • Federal Bureau of Investigation • South by Southwest Conferences

& Festivals (SXSW) • Texas Parks and Wildlife • The White House

JOIN NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED SCHOLARS.St. Edward’s has been a top producer of Fulbright U.S. Students six years in a row. Since 2004, 37 Fulbrights have been awarded to our students. Funded by the State Department, the Fulbright Program provides students — chosen for their academic merit and leadership potential — with the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research abroad. With these awards, our graduates have studied and taught English in 18 countries.

Our students talk about lightbulb moments they’ve experienced on the hilltop — the kind that clarify their values and dreams. What will yours be?

LET YOUR CURIOSITY LEAD THE WAY.

AUSTIN: ONE OF THE BEST

Cities don’t come much cooler than Austin — not to mention more packed with internship, volunteer and career opportunities. Austin is home to the South by Southwest® Conferences & Festivals — two action-packed weeks of the best in music, film and interactive media. And its title as “Live Music Capital of the World” is one that the city takes seriously. Case in point: more than 200 venues are booked for gigs nightly. Once you’ve soaked up the music, go outside and soak up the sun. With 300 days of sunshine each year, the weather is perfect for enjoying the outdoors, including Austin’s 200 parks and three lakes.

MAKE THIS PLACE YOUR OWN.It doesn’t take long for the hilltop to become your home. You live in a freshman residence hall a few minutes’ walk from class and keep a busy course schedule. But there’s time for fun, too. In between classes, you grab a snack or meal at one of the university’s two dining halls and three coffee shops. You squeeze in a workout at the fitness center, or a swim in the 25-meter indoor pool, or meet up with your intramural team for an evening game. You make friends through student clubs (there are more than 125 to choose from). And, of course, campus traditions like Homecoming and Midnight Breakfast make their way onto your schedule. It’s all just another full day on the hilltop.
