BRING YOUR CREDITS (AND PASSION) TO THE HILLTOP.ST. EDWARD’S ACCEPTS:

• Up to 66 hours of community college credit

• Up to 90 hours of university credit

• Grade C– or better in all coursework

30 of the last 50 hours of your degree and at least half of the coursework required for your major must be taken at St. Edward’s.

TRANSFER CREDIT FOR GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Take a 54-hour block of general education requirements established for all students at St. Edward’s, regardless of major. Below is a list of equivalent courses that may be taken in part or in full at another college or university to meet our core curriculum requirements.

CULTURAL FOUNDATIONS (18 HOURS) St. Edward’s Equivalents Literature and Human Experience (3) Literature course (in English)

Understanding and A course in the history, appreciation or criticism of art, Appreciating the Arts (3) music, film or theater

The American Experience (3) Choose two: U.S. History I and II or Minorities in the United States I and II

American Dilemmas (3) No equivalents. Must be taken at St. Edward’s.

Contemporary World Issues (3) No equivalents. Must be taken at St. Edward’s.

FOUNDATIONS FOR VALUES AND DECISIONS (15 HOURS) St. Edward’s Equivalents

Ethics (3) Any ethics course; some majors require an ethics course in the major discipline to satisfy the requirement

Religious Studies/Philosophy (3) Any course in Religious Studies or Philosophy except an ethics course.

GENEROUS SCHOLARSHIPS, FINANCIAL AID AND SUPPORTWith scholarships, grants and loans, St. Edward’s is committed to making college an affordable investment for you. When you’re accepted to St. Edward’s, you’re assigned a personal advisor in the Office of Student Financial Services who will help you plan how to finance your education.

Here’s what we awarded our students last year:

• $72 million Total scholarships and grants awarded

• $19,370 Average transfer award (not including loans and campus jobs)

• 81% Transfer students who received scholarships and grants

Traditional U.S. transfer students are automatically reviewed for scholarships during the application process. These scholarships are awarded annually for up to three years. Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, successful full-time enrollment and 30 hours of college credit at the time of application qualify for consideration.

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS• Transfer Scholarships: $9,000 to $11,000 per year• Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: an additional $2,500 per year

Additional scholarship opportunities are available to students who establish a strong GPA at St. Edward’s.

APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AIDApplying for assistance early increases your chance of receiving funds. Start by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Then we’ll review your file for federal and state grants, university grants, campus jobs and student loans. Apply at fafsa.ed.gov and be sure to list the St. Edward’s federal school code, 003621, in the school release section.

Spring semester enrollment: Fill out the FAFSA by Oct. 15, 2015 Fall semester enrollment: Fill out the FAFSA by March 1, 2016

Our financial aid offer for your first year at St. Edward’s becomes your base offer for subsequent years. Normally, you can receive a similar grant package for up to three additional years if you file an updated FAFSA and meet other university requirements.

START YOUR TRANSFER PLANS — THE SOONER, THE BETTERTransfer admission decisions can be made up to one year before transferring. We encourage you to apply at the beginning of the last semester you plan to attend another college. This allows time to review your application and educational goals, provide a degree audit, and to apply for financial assistance if needed.

We consider you for admission based on your complete academic history, including cumulative grade point average and percentage of college-level courses successfully completed. We also look for completion of at least one full-time semester of 12–15 hours with a 2.5 or higher semester GPA.
