MELBA MARTINEZ, MMNTArtistic Director and Co-Sound Designer, is honored to be working with Scott Thompson and Richard Byron and is deeply gratified by the immensity of their contribution to Austin arts, to the training and ·. education of many artists in the community and specifically to the way in which they have inspired students, faculty and staff here at St. Edward's University. Martinez has an interdisciplinary doctorate from the University of Texas in Film, Performance Studies and Theatre, where she was awarded the prestigious Danforth fellowship. As an Associate Professor of Theatre, Martinez teaches performance and directing and has produced, directed and acted in numerous MMNT productions since arriving to Austin in 1982, including A RAISIN IN THE SUN, THE KENTUCKY CYCLE, HONKY TONK ANGELS, DEATH OF A SALESMAN, PLAYING FOR TIME, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, LEND ME A TENOR, PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE, TROJEN WOMEN, BEYOND THE HORIZON, GRAPES OF WRATH, IN GHERIT THE WIND and others. Melba would like to thank the AMADEUS ensemble, the equity guest artists and the MMNT production staff and faculty for the ennobling and joyful experience of working on Shaffer's AMADEUS!
SCOTT THOMPSON, Director, is one of the co-founders of Austin Musical Theatre and Broadway Texas. In association with Richard Byron, he has produced and directed seventeen major musicals in Austin since 1997 winning numerous B. Iden Payne and Austin Critics' Table awards for Direction and Choreography. Scott has directed regionally at the world famous Goodspeed Opera House and in Washington D.C. under commision from the Library of Congress.
Regionally he has won awards from the San Francsico Theatre Critics, The Connecticut Critics Association, and the Los Angeles Ovation Awaard for DAMES AT SEA, 42nd ST,ANYTHING GOES, PIRATES OF PENZANCE to name a few. Faviorite shows include, DAMN YANKEES, THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS, CINDERELLA, and BYE BYE BIRDIE. In Austin favorites include, OKLAHOMA!, THE MUSIC MAN, SWEET CHARITY, GYPSY, MY FAIR LADY and PETER PAN. Scott recently directed THE WIZARD OF OZ for Broadway Texas which played in Austin and San Antonio winning excellent reviews and delighting thousands of central Texas families. Scott will be moving to New York City following this project and looks forward to the road ahead.

He has appeared regionally in productions of SINGIN IN THE .RAIN, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, CINDERELLA, SUGAR, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, DROOD, HELLO DOLLY & many others.t Richardis last appearance locally was as the flamboyant crusader Melvin P. Thorpei in the AMT production of THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS. In addition to stage work, he has appeared on TV and in concert with AnnMargret, Ben Vereen,Juliet Prowse, Chita Rivera & Raquel Welch fi including a featured performance in Ms. Welchis live HBO special and World Tour.t Alongside Scott Thompson, Richard co-directed the critically acclaimed St. Edward's University production of GREASE in 1997 and is proud to be a part of Amadeus, the last production this creative team will mount in Austin before moving to New York City in April.

TIM McGEEVER, Wo!fgang Amadeus Mozart, lS pleased to make his Texas debut with the cast and crew of Amadeus. Off Broadway Tim has appeared in CHAUCER IN ROME by John
Guare at Lincoln Center, THE WHITE DEVIL at The Brooklyn Academy of Music, the fully improvised LIFEGAME, The one-man show FULLY COMMITTED directed by Nicholas Martin, and TARTUFFE at the Public Theater. Regionally, Tim . has worked at the Guthrie Theater, Pioneer Theater, Studio Arena Theater, Portland Stage Company, as well as a tour of Southern Florida with FULLY COMMITTED. He has worked with the internationally known Cheek-by-Jowl l(UK), Improbable (UK), and Sydney (Aus.) Theatre companies. Tim lived and worked in Chicago for a few years before moving to New York City to study at the Juilliard School. Tim worked with many distinguished directors and teachers, notably Michael Kahn, Pierre Lefevre, Garland Wright, Derek Anson Jones, Brian Mertes, Chris Bayes, Moni Yakim, Daniel Fish and many others. The best teachers and most loyal supporters he has ever had are his parents, Pat & Rachel..
EV LUNNING, JR. Orisini Rosenberg, has been associated with MMNT since 1990 when he first appeared as an Equity guest artist. Soon after that he joined the SEU faculty as an adjunct, teaching classes in
Acting and Voice and Diction. A member of AEA since 1968, Ev has appeared
in most of Austin's professional venues, from Palmer Auditorim to The State Theatre to the Off Center. Most recently, he appeared in last season's production of THE KENTUCKY CYCLE. He has directed over 50 productions for professional, community, and school groups, including The State Theatre Company and The Austin Shakespeare Festival. Ev also teaches classes in voice for The State Theatre Company School of Acting, and he has coached dialects for productions of DARK OF THE MOON, BINGO!, and DESDEMONA, A PLAY ABOUT A HANDKERCHIEF. A volunteer narrator for the Texas State Library's "Talking Book" Program for the past ten years, Ev's recordings of O.Henry's Austin Stories can be purchased at the 0. Henry Museum.
PAUL NORTON, Joseph II, trained at the Webber Douglas Acadamy of Dramatic Arts in London, England. He has recently completed a succesful run in the world premiere production of THE ROAD TO WIGAN PIER, by Robi Polgar, playing the M.C. and Margaret Thatcher. In November, he appeared in The Woman In Black at The State THeatere. Some of his other favorite Austin roles include Lear in KING LEAR (Public Domain), Larry in CLOSER (Zachary Scott), Fox and others in THE LITTLE PRINCE, Sir George Crofts in MRS. WARREN'S PROFESsION, Jim Curran in THE WEIR adnd Banquo in A MACBETH (all atThe State), Pistol in HENRY V and The Poet in LA RONDE (Austin Shakepeare Festicval. This is Paul's first appearance in a SEU project and he would like to extend his gratitude to Melba Martinez, Scott Thompson and the entire cast and crew for attempting to deal with his English quirkiness. An extra-special thanks, as always, to his lovely wife Pamela for all her sage advise and encouragement.
PAUL BLACK, Scenic & Lighting Designer, is excited to be able to work again with his long time friend Scott Thompson. Previously Paul designed CINDERELLA with Scott at Southern Arizona Light Opera Company, and most recently last year's locally acclaimed production of THE WIZARD OF OZ. When
not on the road Paul works as a freelance designer living in Phoenix, where he has designed for Arizona Theater Co., Actors Theater of Phoenix, Phoenix Theater, and Childsplay Inc. Other theaters outside of Phoenix that Paul has designed for include Music Theater of Santa Barbara, American Stage in Florida, 10th Street Dance Works, Orts Dance and the national tour of Veggie Tales. Working as a guest artist Paul has lectured at Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Corne! College, Viterbo University and Wichita State University. When not working as a designer Paul is the Artistic Associate at Actors Theater of Phoenix and he spends his summers as the Production Manager and sound designer of Music Theater of Wichita. Paul would like to thank his wife Erica for all her support.
SUSAN BRANCH, Costume Designer, has recently moved from New York City back to her hometown of Austin. Local credits include ALWAYS PATSY CLINE, WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?, LOVE! VALOUR! COMPASSION!, SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE, THE LARAMIE PROJECT, and JELLY'S LAST JAM at Zach Scott, CRAZY FOR YOU andJOSEPH'SDREAMCOATfor Zilker Theatre Productions, THE LITTLE PRINCE and THE DINOSAUR WITHIN at the State Theatre and OKLAHOMA! for Austin Musical Theatre. In New York, Susan designed GRIFFELKIN for New York City Opera and numerous Off Broadway productions. Favorite regional engagements include TROILUS AND CRESSIDA, TWELFTH NIGHT, and THE WINTER'S TALE for Utah Shakespearean Festival, THE TAMING OF THE SHREW for New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, THE BEAUTY PART for Yale Rep, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM for Virginia Stage Company, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, SWEENEY TODD, and FORUM for Milwaukee's Skylight Opera Theatre, and Harvard University's 150th ANNUAL HASTY PUDDING SHOW. Susan is a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University and Yale School of Drama, and is a member of United Scenic Artists, Local 829.

RACHEL ADAMS, Make-up Design, is proud tomake AMADEUS her first show for which she designs amke-up. She would like to thank Sara and T'Cie for giving her this opportunity. She would also like tothank her family and friends for their love and support. I love you Mama!
BILL McMILLIN, Production Stage Manager, was the first to receive a BA in Theatre Arts Management from St. Edward's University (79) and is a member of Actor's Equity Association (AEA) and The National Stage
Managers' Association (NSMA) . An Austin resident for 28 years, he has worked in every facet of theatrical production in practically every theatre in town. He served on the Board of Directors of The Austin Circle of Theatres (ACOT) for 8 years, serving 3 years as President. In 1993, he received an Austin Critics Table Award for "Best Stage Manager" and a B. Iden Payne "Special Recognition Award" for his outstanding contributions and dedication to Austin theatre. Bill, represented by CIAO TALENTS, may also be seen in recent commercials for Chevrolet, Tractor Supply and Gunn Automotive, as well as voice and print media and several films. Mr. McMillin serves on the National Council of Actor's Equity Association, is a Tony Award voter, and is an Adjunct Faculty member at St. Edward's University, teaching Arts Administration and Stage Management.
JERRY JOE BENSON III, Asst. Stage Mgr., is a freshman theatre major, acting emphasis. Jerry is very excited about being here and looks forward to starring in a play here someday.
COLIN BIGGS, Dancer/Ensemble, is a freshmen at St. Edwards University. He has appeared in A FLEA IN HER EAR. Equity Membership candidate.
HOPE IRISH BUCHANAN, Asst. Stage Mgr., is completing her Junior year here at SEU and has been involved in acting, designing and stitching on numerous
shows. Her most recent performance was in A FLEA IN HER EAR, as Lucienne; she constructed the hats as well. Hope fancies the family, friends, and faculty who have helped her to get as far as she has gotten. She recommends visiting the website www.thebrothermachine.com .
KATHLEEN COBB, Katherina, is a junior transfer from Lon Morris College. Previous shows include: BLITHE SPIRIT, IPHEGHNIA AT AULIS and OUR TOWN among others. She's really excited to get to do a period piece, and to do it with so many great people. It's been et!}qyable and surprising coming into a department that is so welcoming and where every person is so involved Equity Membership Candidate.
KRISTEN DIETRICH, Asst. Stage Mgr. is a sophomore. She last worked as ensemble and crew in A RAISIN IN THE SUN. She would like to thank her mother, step-father, Danielle and the girls for everything they do. Equity Membership Candidate.
DOUGLAS FINER, Cook/Ensemble, began performing dance in 1967, when he was 14 years old. He has received multiple trainings and certifications in nutrition, macrobiotics, movement therapy, yoga, personal fitness training, massage therapy, body reading and more. His formal dance training began in 1976 in classical ballet, modern and improvisational dance. Theatrical training and performance began in 1986. His most favorite experience of improvisational performance was his 3 1 / 2 year tour with The Living Tarot Performance Company.
ANGELA FLOWERS, Teresa Salieri, is proud to be working with so many talented artists. Angela is a junior at St. Edward's and was last seen on the MMNT stage in HONKY TONK ANGELS and THE KENTUCKY CYCLE. She would like to thank Melba and Scott for this wonderful opportunity and her family and friends for all the love, encouragement, and beauty. Equity Membership Candidate.
ADAM GREEN, Ventecello 3, is making his MMNT debut with AMADEUS. He recently appeared on stage in San Antonio as Billy in TORCH, Murphy in Laurence · Fishburne's RIFF RAFF. He would truly like to thank God and his loved ones for
always being there to provide support and comfort. He would also like to thank Scott for letting him know when something he did sucked. As Scott always said, "It's better to hear it from me than to hear it from the Statesman." Good point.
HUCK HUCKABY, Von Strack, landed in Austin in 1990 and has had the pleasure of working in theaters all over town. This, however, is his first time to hit the stage at St. Edward's. Around Austin, Huck has been seen in the Zilker Summer Musicals, State Theatre, Second Youth Family Theatre and with The Violet Crown Players.
AUSTIN JEPHSON, Asst. Scenic Designer, recently graduated from Texas State University where he received his BFA in Scene Design. He designed HONKY TONK ANGELS and A RAISIN IN THE SUN for MMNT, and will be designing THE HOUSE PROJECT later this spring. This summer he will work as Assistant Scenic Designer on TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA for Illinios Shakespeare Festival. He is very thankful for all the help and opportunities he has received from the faculty, staff and students here at MMNT.
BONNIE KING, Ensemble, would like to thank all of the wonderful staff here at SEU for all of their loving support. This is her third show here on the MMNT stage- she was last seen in THE KENTUCKY CYCLE and C/O THE GROVE. JOHN LOPEZ, Priest/Ensemble, is excited to be in his fourth MMNT production. You may have seen him before in A FLEA IN HER EAR, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, or PLAYING FOR TIME. BIANCA MALINOWSKI, Ensemble, has most recently appeared on the MMNT stage earlier this year in A RAISIN IN
THE SUN. As a freshman she is absolutely thrilled to take part in such an amazing production as AMADEUS. GERALD MULLER, Guiseppe Bonno, is a Holy Cross Brother who has been a member of the music faculty of St. Edward's for 26 years. A native of North Dakota and a Notre Dame graduate, he has been teaching for 53 years. He conducted musicals at SEU for thirteen years.This is his first stage appearance in the Mary Moody Northen Theatre.
RACHEL NEY, Constanze, is proud to be a part of this production. You may have seen her on the MMNT stage in productions such as THE KENTUCKY CYCLE, A FLEA IN HER EAR, THE GROVE, ALL MY SONS, and THE MEDEA STORIES. PHILLIP OWEN, Venticello 1, is glad to be working on his sixth show at MMNT. Previously he has worked with Blue Raincoat Theatre Company in Ireland in MACBETH, Samuel Beckett's PLAY, and THIS IS A PLAY While in Ireland he earned his Master's Degree at Trinity College, Dublin. SARAH ORLANDO, Ensemble, is a sophomore here at St.Edward's University. She was last seen as The Landin THE
KENTUCKY CYCLE and in the ensemble of C/O THE GROVE. She will also be seen in the upcoming production THE HOUSE PROJECT. She would like to give a special thanks to Melba Martinez for providing a way for her to participate in this semester's productions. DAVID PONTON, Venticello, was last seen in the Broadway Texas' THE WIZARD OF OZ. AMADEUS marks David's return to MMNT where he played Eugene in GREASE! David has performed in over a dozen award-winning regional productions including THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS, SWEET CHARITY, OKLAHOMA, and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. Other credits include television commercials for Fiesta Texas and Buttercrust Bread,JudyTenuta Live, and the ABC TV movie Two Mothers for Zachary. As alwqys, much love & thanks to Charles. JENNIFER PYBURN,Asst. Stage Mgr., is a freshman and has really enjoyed St. Ed's and all it has had to offer. She feels privileged to have worked on A FLEA IN HER EAR as a dresser and enjoyed performing in the Directing Scenes last semester. AMADEUS marks her first venture into stage management, and she has enjoyed this new aspect and challenge. She looks forward to more experiences in this department.

Last year Nicole was seen in the Austin based television pilot The Hyper Jackson Chamberand can be seen playing Lucy in the upcomimg motion picture The Wendell Baker Story starring Luke and Owen Wilson and Eddie Griffin.
