Getting Started

This guide is meant to help you through the process of exporting files currently stored in Adobe

Connect. Before you start this process, there are a few things to keep in mind:

There is a separate guide for downloading meeting recordings.

Some media and PowerPoint files may have been shared through Connect as Adobe Presenter

files. A workaround for this is provided in this document.

Adobe Presenter files that were originally PowerPoint slides with voice narration cannot be

exported and used elsewhere. However, they can be recorded using software such as Camtasia

so that they can be shared elsewhere.

While exporting files may be a time consuming process, there are several positive outcomes:

A copy of your files will exist outside of the Adobe Connect server. This means you can retain

copies for your own archive.

It is suggested that you upload your exported video files to Purdue’s Kaltura media service.

Once you do this:

o Videos can be shared through Blackboard and externally depending how you want to

use the recording

o Captions can be added, making former Connect recordings more accessible

o Kaltura creates media that can be viewed on both personal computers and mobile

devices
