How is Social Facilitation portrayed?
● The 3 students formed a group together knowing that they will perform better with each other’s presence.
● Outcome: They fulfilled the lecturer’s requirement by making a tree with the help of each other’s powers.

Definition:A persuasive message that attempts to arouse
fear in order to divert behavior through the threat of impending danger or harm.
How is Fear-Based Appeal portrayed?
● A monster appears● 2 of the boys are
ready to defeat it but the girl is hesitant due to her fears.
● 1 of the boys attempts to persuade her to fight.
● Outcome: Girl is successfully persuaded and agrees to fight the monster.
Self-Verification Theory
Self-Verification Theory
Definition:People want others to see them as they see
themselves.
How is Self-Verification Theory portrayed:
● The boy believe in himself that they can defeat the monster. But the girl is not confident with his belief.
● The guy kept persuading the girl that they can defeat the monster as what he believed.
● Outcome: The girl finally agreed to follow the other two guys to defeat the monster.

Definition:
Something meant to get you to do or believe something. If you’re not sure you want to go somewhere, your friend might
use persuasion to talk you into it.
How is Persuasion portrayed?
● The monster appear
● Character A decide to defeat the monster, but Character B can’t do it.
● Character A persuade character B by threaten her with her family.
● Character A is successfully persuaded Character B to fight the monster.

Definition:a widely held but fixed and oversimplified
image or idea of a particular type of person or thing.
How is Stereotype portrayed?
● A monster appear● The three characters
think that the monster is evil
● They successfully defeated the monster and bound it up
● They realised that the monster is not evil as they though and they released it.
Upward Counterfactual Thinking
Upward Counterfactual Thinking
Definition:The tendency to imagine better possible outcomes for events that have already
happened.
How is Upward Counterfactual Thinking portrayed?
● The moment they realized it was not an evil monster, they felt a sense of remorse for their actions.
● They thought “if only we did not do that, we would have been good friends” and that worsened their mood a little bit.
● Outcome: Monster does not feel offended and all four of them become good friends.

Definition:A process of reciprocal stimulation or response
between two or more people. It develops competition, interaction, influences social roles and status and people for social relationships.
How is Social Interaction portrayed?
● A battle with the monster that appeared.
● They won the war and successfully bound up the monster.
● The monster started to explain that he does not like hurting people, and that he is only travelling around.
● Therefore, they apologized and made friends with the monster.
