About MeGrowing up in rural Ohio, I've constantly been exposed to nature, and it will always influence the way I think, design, and work. I try to be as adaptable as the changing seasons while remaining true to my roots. I find enjoyment in all walks of life. I can commit myself to any project. I'm constantly cultivating new ideas and stretching my mind. I love harvesting knowledge from others and giving back more than I get.

McAlpin Loft Winter 2010

A residential Design for the McAlpin building in downtown Cincinnati . The design was based around a separated grid pattern incorporated from

floor to ceil ing.

Media: Revit, Photoshop.

Designer's Choice Award Winner.

Page 13: Portfolio spring 2013

The design for the loft space started out as a solution for getting daylight from the ends of the space toward the middle. A series of angled panels, reflective on the top, would push light deeper into the resi-dence. The shaping of the panels, and the angles of the walls, were formed through a grid created by existing columns. The residence has two bedrooms, one and a half baths, and a built in patio.

Lego Inc.

Summer 2011

A Hypothetical design for Lego's cooperate headquarters in California. The office layout was based around the proportions of standard lego modules.

Media: Photoshop, Revit.

Page 15: Portfolio spring 2013

Lego Inc’s Design originated from, of course, the form of a lego. The main influence rests in the 12 floating “rings” which become intersection markers on the floor, and cove light fixtures above. The lego proportion can be found throughout the office, from planning to fixtures. The space was designed to be open and playful, good qualities for collaboration work.

Mani ResortWinter 2011

An Eco Resort/Cul-tural Center in Leh, India. The building form was based off of the 8-pointed lotus, representing harmony in culture and spatial layout.

Media: Photoshop, Revit, Google sketch-up.

Page 17: Portfolio spring 2013

Mani’s design was based around the 8 pointed lotus. This created one octagonal common area in the center, 8 “themed” Rooms, and 16 living spaces. The themed rooms revolved around the senses (Touch, taste, sound,) and some of the local traditions (history, religion) and gave guests the chance to experience and learn about different parts of the culture before traveling into the city.

OXO KitchenSpring 2012

Based off of the design concepts from OXO Brands, this kitchen was designed with aging in place design in mind.

Media: Google Sketch-up, Photoshop.

Page 19: Portfolio spring 2013

The kitchen design was based off of the concepts of push/pull, twist, and grip, which are some of OXO’s main design concerns. The focal point of the kitchen was a series of retractable lower cabinets, that could be used as step stools (with grab bars), regular cabinets, or be pushed inward for ADA Wheelchair access without losing counter space.

BONOBO’S Pixel PopFall 2012

Designed as a pop-up store for BONOBO”S, Pixel Pop was based off of the use of the QR Code.

Media: Google Sketch-up, Photoshop.

Page 21: Portfolio spring 2013

Pixel Pop was based around the QR Code and all of the benefits it could provide to a store. Consumers could order online for pick up, or start their own BONOBO’S account right in the store. With several interactive terminals, and direct access to the website, the store was built to cater to the technological customer. The ceiling grid was a system of 2x2 panels, with the according pieces removed to resemble the QR code for the stores website.
