Psalm 86:11-17 says:

• 11. Tell me where You want me to go and I

will go there. May every fiber of my being

unite in reverence to Your name.

• 12. With all my heart I will praise You. I will

give glory to Your name forever,

• 13. for You love me so much! You are

constantly so kind! You have rescued me

from deepest hell.



Psalm 86:11-17 says:

• 14. O God, proud and insolent men defy me; violent, godless men are trying to kill me.

• 15. But You are merciful and gentle, Lord,

slow in getting angry, full of constant lovingkindness and of truth;

• 16. so look down in pity and grant strength

to Your servant and save me. • 17. Send me a sign of Your favor. When

those who hate me see it they will lose face

because You help and comfort me.



A Great Example...

• What can we learn for us today from what we just read?

• We can see how the author of this psalm

was totally wrapped up in his prayer life with the Lord.

• Verse 11 said,

• “Tell me where You want me to go and I will go there. May every fiber of my being unite

in reverence to Your name.”



A Great Example...

• That is a good prayer for us today!

• The psalmist is saying, “Here am I, Lord,

what do You want from me? What can I do

for You because You and only You are God!Only You are worthy to be worshipped!

• Wouldn’t it be great if we could approach

God in this manner, displaying suchreverence, devotion and humility?



A Great Example...

• We also see an open mind.

• "Tell me where You want me to go…I will go

Your way...I will walk in Your truth."

• Is your mind open to God's truth?

• Do you really want Him to teach you His

way?

• He revealed His ways to Moses and to the

Israelites.



A Great Example...

• He will do the same for you also.

• We need people today who will say, "Lord, I

have an open mind. I want You to show me

Your way and truth.”

• But that's not enough. We need to have an

obedient will.

• The psalmist makes a promise in verse 11:

"Lord, if You show me Your way, I will obey

it."



A Great Example...

• Jesus said, "If anyone wants to do His will,he shall know concerning the doctrine,

whether it is from God or whether I speak

on My own authority" (John 7:17).• Finally, we see a united heart. "Unite my

heart to fear Your name."

• A united heart is wholly fixed upon the Lord.

• A divided heart is dangerous.



A Great Example...

• Jesus said, "No one can serve two masters;for either he will hate the one and love the

other, or else he will be loyal to the one and

despise the other. You cannot serve Godand mammon" (Matthew 6:24).

• James 1:8 says a double-minded man is

unstable in all of his ways.



A Great Example...

• If you want God to guide and bless youtoday, follow the example of this prayer.

• Give to Him an open mind and say, "Teach

me."• Give to Him an obedient will and say, "I will

do what you want me to do."

• And give to Him a united heart.• Fear His name, and you'll end up praising

Him, glorifying Him and enjoying His

blessings.



A Great Example...

• Is your mind open to the truth of God'sWord?

• Does your will respond to truth and obey it?

• Is your heart undivided, fixed upon theLord?

• Today, dedicate your mind, heart and will to

God.
