These Bootcamps are a quick and practicalroute to help you get ahead and secure abetter job. They are delivered with localemployers across Lancashire, so you’ll havea job interview when you’ve completed thecourse.

Skills Bootcamps are designed to beflexible and suitable for a wide range ofadults, so you can fit your learning aroundyour lifestyle.

What is a DigitalBootcamp?

The courses are open to adults aged 19 andover who are either in work, self-employed, recently unemployed orreturning to work after a break.

Some Bootcamps may have additionalentry requirements – check the coursedetails for more information.

Digital skills are not just for digitaljobs. These skills are becoming

increasingly essential across a vastarray of jobs and sectors in the

modern workforce–82% of all jobopenings online request digital skills.

In this brochure, you’ll find lots of digitalBootcamps offered by a range of skillsproviders. The National Careers Service canhelp you figure out which is right for you. National CareersService: Supporting Youon Your Digital Journey

While digital skills are importantfor every job, they could alsohelp you secure a digital role.

Salaries for digital roles tend tobe 36% higher than average.

You can also study for your English and/ormaths GCSE or a Functional Skills qualificationfor free if you don’t already have them. If youhave no or low digital skills, you can takeEssential Digital Skills qualifications for free.

Need help with Englishand Maths?

Under the Lifetime Skills Guarantee, adults inEngland who are 24 and over and do not yethave A-levels, an advanced technical diploma orequivalent or higher qualification, can now taketheir first Level 3 qualification for free. You can choose from almost 400 free coursesto gain new skills that will help you accessopportunities and get a better job. ‘Cloud computing’ refers to computingservices such as servers, storage, databasesand software that are delivered over theinternet (‘the cloud’) rather than by traditionalhardware. A cloud engineer is responsible forany technological duties associated with cloudcomputing, including design, planning,management, maintenance and support.

Cyber security involves gathering informationabout where threats to IT systems come fromand how they work, as well as putting systemsin place to prevent attacks. Protecting personaland customer data is increasingly important formany companies as we carry out more of ourlives online.

The IT sector in Lancashire isconsistently within the top 10

recruiting sectors, with around 1,000job openings in August 2021. This

number is expected to increase as theeconomy continues to recover.

Data analysis has many different applications,but generally involves collecting numericalinformation to identify trends, create modelsand present results. It can be used to predictdemand for products and services, analyserisk, and help organisations and governmentmake policy decisions.

Data analytics

Digital marketing promotes brands, productsand services through social media, websitesand apps. You might work with clients to createdigital content and campaigns, producingregular analytics reports on their performance,and manage social platforms.
