US Airfare Trend Report

Week of April 6, 2015

FLYR Inc.fb.com/getflyr FLYRLabs.com @FLYR_Research

Data cohort: Flights departing April 11, 2015 – May 15, 2015 •  Observation period: 7 days ending April 4, 2015

Notes• Since our last report, when United hiked, then dropped, their fares by $0.40, American/US

followed suit, and Delta, as well. Here, you see that American/US in the midst of their reversal (explaining their excess of fare drops) while Delta began reversing their fare increases after the observation period has concluded.

Data cohort: Flights departing April 11, 2015 – May 15, 2015 •  Observation period: 7 days ending April 4, 2015

Notes• The semi-overlapping broad fare changes among different airlines paints a rather confusing picture

here. While Delta has a broad fare hike of <$1, Alaska, American/US, United, and JetBlue are seen here in the midst of scaling back previous changes.

Data cohort: Flights departing April 11, 2015 – May 15, 2015 •  Observation period: 7 days ending April 4, 2015

Notes• Not surprisingly, the “universal” fare hikes seen on the right are almost exclusively served

by Delta.

were quite volatile on major routes, with few flights experiencing completely stable fares.

• Substantially all fares on the ANC/SEA route (primarily served by Alaska) changed in price, but to a limited extent.
