Upgrade for Previous Generation NR & NA Type Turbochargers
The designer of the NR and NA type turbochargers, MAN Diesel & Turbo ("MDT"), has changed the turbocharger casing material design to a ‘Nodular Cast Iron’ for previous generation turbochargers which were originally designed and manufactured with grey cast iron casings. This includes the following turbocharger types: “NR12, NR15, NR17, NR20, NR24, NR26, NR29, NR34, NA34, NA40, NA48, NA57, NA70”.
Recently, MDT have finalized the ‘Nodular Cast Iron’ design concept for new components.
STX Marine Service and our global network companies can supply the materials and services for upgrading these STX built MAN turbochargers through cooperation with our sister company, the original manufacturer, STX Heavy Industries.
