    FROM THE DESK

The first week of the new year has also marked the beginning

of new lunar moon and the holy month of Rabi-ul- Awwal. This

month has special significance as Muslims around the globe

celebrate the birth anniversary of our Prophet (Peace be Upon

    Him) on 12th

    day of the month.

For Pakistanis in Australia it was a very sad start of the year

with the tragic car crash near Mooney Mooney on Boxing Day.

This resulted in three youngsters injured and two young

Pakistanis losing their lives (Inna lillah ewainnah elahe rajeoon). While the funds were being raised by the community to send

the deceased back to their families, thanks to the efforts of

Pakistan High Commission and Consulate General in Sydney, all

the expenses were taken care of by the Government of

Pakistan. The last sunset of the year 2013 saw Mohsin Raza and

Azhar Iqbal travelling back home for their final journey.

Thank you very much for your votes to the Bankwest Happy

Communities Program. The group will receive $200 for the

sports equipment. We look forward to work with the

community in 2014 and for latest updates please follow us on

    AUSTRALIA DAY PROJECT UPDATE

The last day of year 2013 saw the residents of Ghulam Manjryo Goth and Luddo Manchore Goth in

the district of Thatta, Sindh benefitting from water pumps sponsored by one of our members as part of

Australia Day celebration. The two pumps were installed by the Child Health and Education

Foundationwww.chaef.org. It takes only PKR 30,000 Rs. equivalent to about 320 Australian dollars so

please consider giving the gift of clean water to underserved communities in Pakistan.
