With the support of all our members we started to gear up for the event and started working on the detailing of the quiz, from designing of oral rounds to the designing of creative rounds, from physical arrangements to the PPT from designing posters, flexes, certificates etc. to the promotion of the event everything was done according

to the theme of the quiz and was observed carefully by the senior members. iLEOthon 14-15 ensured a very aggressive promotion of the quiz on Facebook and Whatsapp by sharing those amazing mind boggling teasers and posters that were designed by our design team consisting of Leo Kritika Thakuria, Leo Sanchita Sethi and Leo Chandan Agrawal.

On 15th Aug 2014 we had a dry run for iLEOthon at The Daly College, all the teams gathered at Dhirubhai Ambani Auditorium by 2:00 pm and went under a demo run of the quiz that was to be hosted next day. Physical team consisting of Leo Akshay Kothari and Leo Aditya Jain mentored by Leo Sachin Nagdev made sure that all the arrangements at the venue are perfect. The PPT Team of Leo Mohit Agrawal and Leo Luv Doshi made beautiful PPTs for the quiz that complemented the Theme of our quiz. With everything ready and placed as per our requirement we finished with the dry run

of the event by 5:00 pm. Now we all were

waiting for the next day.

t was Aug 16th 2014 D DAY for iLEOthon 14-15, morning 7:00 am all the project in charges gathered at the venue, at the registration desk was Leo Luv Maheshwari and Leo Neha Maheshwari registered all the 16 schools, now this was again the first time we had 16 schools participating for

the quiz. As the registration process completed, our MOCs Leo Ritika Patel and Leo Malika Doshi gave a kick start to the show welcomed all the dignitaries, schools, guests and fellow Leos to the event.

Further they requested our guest of honor Mr. Utkarsh

Bhargava from Amity, Mr. Chako from BNP Paribas and Mrs &

Mr. Amit Modi from VIEC along with the President and Secretary

of the club to light the lamp.

iLEOthon 14-15 was divided in two parts of quizzing i.e. core and Creative, 8 students from each school were escorted to CTDC hall by the Creative team to carry forward the semifinals whereas two remained in the

t all started two months back when the team of LEO VISHESH KASLIWAL, LEO VATSAL PARIKH AND LEO NIKHIL CHANDNANI took the charge for one of the most prestigious

event of our club i.e. iLEOthon. They dreamed to raise the bar of this event and set a benchmark by taking this event to the next level.The objective was to win it all with the team of around 32 Leos mentored by Leo Mohit Nagori. It was a lifetime experience to be a part of iLEOthon (the quiz) in the making.

For the first time in these 42 years we had a theme

for iLEOthon which was MY COUNRY INDIA With

the belief of adding extra to iLEOthon this year, the team started with the school invitation and calling as THE SCHOOLS is the most important part of the

quiz.Written test was conducted in top 27 schools

of the city from 5th 8th Aug 2014. Conducting written test at schools gives our fellow Leos a treat as they get a chance to relive all the memories from their school life. The students were informed about the e-quiz as well, which was very brilliantly made by Leo Parth Nyati and was to be conducted from 8th Aug-2014 to 14th Aug 2014. Adding some more to the written round this year we also conducted French Written Test for which all the students showed a great enthusiasm.

e witnessed highest number of written test participation ever in the history of iLEOthon, more than 11000 students appeared for the core written test, which is a milestone for our club, and around 2700 students for the French Quiz.

among us must be against this. But is

it really that bad? Is all modernisa-tion harmful for our health? Or can we change our perspective and have a second look at it? Rakhi symbolizes the sisters love and prayers for her brothers well-being, and the brothers lifelong vow to protect her. Isnt the spirit of Rakhi

same, even today? As Indians, most of us love these traditions and fes-tivities. We take time off from our more-busy-than-ever schedules to

We Speak.connect to our loved ones, both online and offline. We have just become a little loud in our expres-sions of love! Friendships are no differ-ent. Wasnt it fun to get together with Leo friends

and play games at Mister Chef? Some-times, these particular days sound child-ish and stupid. On second thoughts, they play an important role to remind us to value our dear ones, at least once a year. We are in such a rush these days, we re-ally need things like these to coax us to

to stay connected. Yes of course, theres a bombardment of media for this and sometimes we want to stay away. But this is where we have tried

has surprised us each time. Leo Lilliput responses are faster than the speed of light! Even parents are not far behind in Aashirvachan. Event reports are punctu-al and descriptive. We are overwhelmed

he 2nd General Meeting and Friendships Day Celebration took place at Mister Chef and the theme for the event was YELLOW which perfectly matched with the name of the event JOY.

As it was celebration of friendship, playing games was mandatory. At the entrance itself first game Stickerss began which continued till everybody completed their dinner. It was fun game, to mesmerize the childhood memories when we used to stick strange things on our friends back. In this game every member was given bunch of stickers, whosoever finished first was the winner. But due to some mischievous elements we could not conclude about the winner.

It was followed by the second general meeting, which was attended by 36 members. The club president

ready to be hosted. All the teachers and the students were well prepared to start the celebration. Those kids were so sweetly dressed with prop-er dress codes, jewelry and make-up

for their dance performances which clearly proves their hard work of at least a week.As the program started Leo

Vaibhav, Leo Vikas and the principal lighted the lamps and moved ahead with the flag hosting ceremony which was followed by a small cul-tural program by students, which was amazing.

Our president Leo Vaibhav Khan-delwal inspired the students by his motivational speech and also gave club pin to active students. This was

followed by National Anthem.Our club and members donated a sum for betterment of school and students.Every celebration is incomplete without POHA, so all the members

moved to Gujarat Sweets to have de-licious breakfast.Celebrations end with a patriotic note BHARAT MAATA KI JAI

iLeothon14 ...Contd. from Page 1 Leo Chavi Jain gave a kick-start to the semi finals 1 as a quizmaster followed by Leo Karn Thakuria for Semi Finals 2; Leo Ashwin Palshikar hosted the finals and gave audience an experience of quiz with his awesome quizzing skills.Parallel to the core was the creative quiz - Leo Sonal Khandelwal, Leo Ankita Ruthia, Leo Prachi Bobra, Leo Sonu Kothari, Leo Shanu Kataria, Leo Neha Baxi, Leo Shruti Ajmera, Leo Deepika Shah, Leo Deepak Patel, Leo Aatur

Khandelwal, Leo Naman Nema, Leo Raghav Bangar along with the Creative Team In charge Leo Nikhil Chandnani had a great show with the kids on the creative grounds.

The students were supposed to make a News Paper of 15th Aug 2020 for the semi

finals 1, music video of 90 seconds on the theme my country India for the second

semi finals and a skit performance on a famous Indian personality for the final

round.

As the Semi Finals 1 and 2 were over for both core and creative, all the students guest and fellow Leo members were served delicious snacks besides the lake to keep them energized for the finals. All the food arrangements and the Venue coordination were well managed by Leo Yugansh Soni.After the refreshing snacks session, the stage was all set for the Finals but before that our Prime Sponsor Amity Indore had the privilege to address the students.Finals were conducted for both core and the creative rounds, Winners of the core round were Bhartiya Vidya Bhavans School who were awarded Lenovo Tablets,

runner up were Choithram School and they were awarded HP Color Printers. Winners for the Creative Round were Queens College and were awarded Chauffer Pens, runner up were The Daly College and were awarded iBall Headphones. And

to add extra we gave memento,certificates to all the winners runner-ups. And for

all the participants we had participation certificates.

We had a wonderful support from BIG 92.7 FM throughout the show; they also

shared few live moments of the event on their channel.iLEOthon 14-15 would have been not the way it was if we did not had the guidance and support of our President Leo Vaibhav Khandelwal, Secretary Leo Vikas Behani and Treasurer Leo Tamanna Chandani without whom the event would not have been the way it was. We were fortunate enough to have the guidance and support of our Past Presidents Leo Harsh Nagori, Leo Harsh Ruthia and Leo Vishal Khasgiwala as well.To sum up we had a great show and everybody involved in the iLEOthon 14-15 has a story and an experience to share. In the end what matters is that we dreamed,

believed and achieved.

The meeting was followed by second game Sathi saath nibhana. It was an amazing group relay game. Team of 6 members each was made and in a time limit of 5 minute they were supposed to do 6 tasks. First member was supposed to guzzle soda, second male member was to drape a saree third one to thread the needle and second task was consecutive to prior, to make garland of same thread. Then 5th task was to tie bands to each team member and last one was to

write the hindi alphabets. In all 4 teams played and team of Leo Sonal Khandelwal were the winners. All in all, the event ended with amazing friendship day celebration & members were

ome people are lost in their own misfortunes, but for some rare gems, misfortunes make them stronger and more compassionate. RITU BIYANI is one such person. Her own suffering with breast cancer made her take it up as her lifes mission to spread awareness among urban, rural and tribal reaches of India. Ritu is a Record

Holder Limca Book of Records India for being the First Woman to do a solo drive to the four tips of India & the First Mother-Daughter Duo expedition on cancer awareness across the country with many more laurels.

HOW DID THIS EXTRAORDINARY JOURNEY BY AN ORDINARY WOMAN BEGIN?

RITU: It was August 2000 and chemotherapy led me to go bald. A dental patient came in and asked whether I had a

tour to Tirupati. When I told her about my breast cancer treatment, she stood up and left the clinic thinking cancer is a

communicable disease. People are literate today but they still have misconceptions. So, in order to spread awareness, I

used my passion for travelling and began this mission.

WHAT WAS THE REACTION OF THE PEOPLE IN YOUR AWARENESS WORKSHOPS AND HOW MUCH ARE PEOPLE AWARE OF BREAST CANCER, WHICH IS CONSIDERED AS TABOO IN OUR COUNTRY?

RITU: Different reactions came. Initially people asked: Tumhara breast nikal diya gaya

kya? (Did they remove your breast?) Whether its urban or rural, 90% women are

unaware of breast cancer symptoms and 70-80% about cervical, oral and other

cancer in the country. People In the tribal areas were very receptive. In six months

journey, I held 140 workshops where 26,000 people attended, covering 30,220 Kms

in 177 days, including 26 states.

WHAT MESSAGE YOU WOULD LIKE TO GIVE TO YOUTH, TO COME AHEAD AND LEAD LIKE YOU?

execute a variety of tasks at the club as well as district level.

Leo club and similar organisations provide a platform for the young adults of our society to work in the social, cultural and educational fields as a team. It gives them an opportunity to step out of the professional rigour by creating an atmosphere which emphasizes and facilitates a greater understanding and interaction between diverse and unique members which leads to the overall development of individuals. This is quite evident form the fact that a lot of many successful entrepreneurs of Indore are either Leo members or Ex Leo members.

The club encourages the youngsters to take their decisions and responsi-bilities and ensure that the tasks taken up are completed with perfec-tion. The members of the club are also given an opportunity to think out of the box, to use their own innovation and creativity in the planning and organisation of various events throughout the year. Todays youth has lot of energy and skills which are channelized in a meaningful direc-tion by the platform provided by the club.

The club has a highly knowledgeable and helping group of people who can guide the other members of the club. Also, the fact that the members are from the same generations makes the acceptability of their ideas and prospective very high as compared to those of different generation.
