5th General meeting and 42nd Charter Night Celebration
The occasion which every Leo awaits every year is the Birthday of the Club, Charter Night. This Charter night was special
as it was celebrated on the Cruise, Malwa Queen. The cruise sailing on the water at night with the dim lights from surrounding, in the starting of winter season, made the night amazing & cherish-able. The event was named as Charter on Water.
With lovely decoration and arrangements the night started off at 8 pm when members started coming on and were enjoying the venue. They were welcomed with Soup and starters. Everyone started having a great time and pictures/selfies were getting clicked all over the cruise. With all the guests and members on board we started sailing at 9pm.
It was the time for the General Meeting. The 5th General Meeting along with 42nd Charter Night began on the upper deck of cruise. Leo Harsh Nagori (Past President) welcomed Charter President (Lion Atul Mittal) with a rose bud. Our President, Leo Vaibhav Khandelwal was the Captain of our Cruise sailing on water and he welcomed our Leo members, and Vanguards, and he announced that the Leo Club Of Indore is going to host the 2nd Multiple Council meet in Jan 2015, listening to this everyone was proud and excited. Leo Vikas Behani, Hon. Secretary of the Club took over for his secretarial report for the year 14-15.
Post the report, Lion Atul Mittal was invited to share his Words of Wisdom. His words were mesmerizing for all the members and guests present there. Everyone was completely attentive to what the 1st President of Leo Club of Indore was saying. With his warm wishes & his dream to see 50th Charter Night, he signed off. Other Charters & Vanguards shared their thoughts and ideas for the Club and gave their wishes for the club.
Now was the time for twisting the tales of Leo Members by Tail Twister Leo Vatsal Parikh. He wished all the members who had their Birthday or Anniversary in the Month of November. Leo Vaibhav Khandelwal asked member to share their Dream Believe and Achieve moments with the club. Interesting idea by our President made the time more enjoyable due to the amazing stories and experiences members shared with the club. The meeting ended with a cake cutting celebration. All the Charters and Vanguards were invited for the cake cutting ceremony. The meeting lasted for more than an hour and everyone was filled with enthusiasm and energy to get the club to the new heights in the coming years.
Everyone wished each other for the 42nd Birthday of the club and there was happiness all around. Every member and the guest enjoyed the venue. Now was the time for dinner for which everyone proceeded to the lower deck. The food was amazingly delicious which made the party remarkable. After the dinner, members went to the upper deck for group photographs and started singing songs and enjoying. Meanwhile the Leos lit Chinese Lanterns which made the surroundings look more gorgeous. Members left the cruise with cherish-able moments and hope to meet again with Dreams in which they Believe to Achieve.
Farewell to the Charter Night.Awaiting next Birthday.

Greetings fellow Leos
Its been 42 years since we received the char-ter from Lions Internation-al. It was a proud moment for Leo Club of Indore; it fills our heart with joy and pride when we say we are from Leo Club of Indore - The Oldest Running Club in South East Asia. With every passing year we have attained new heights, it feels like the pinnacle has been achieved but with the coming of a New President, New Tenure, New Ideas, New Thoughts, the defini-tion of the Pinnacle chang-es. We have achieved this only because of the efforts of our Charter members, Vanguards, Legends, senior

members and fel-low members.
This years Charter celebration was on Cruise, yet another incredible idea, the
weather being apt made the sail a beautiful experience and also increased the joy of cel-ebration. The king of seasons has come, the time of camp-fires, barbeque, cold breeze
and a perfect season to party.
Post festivities, its time for Vacations, Weddings, Christmas and New year.
in all Party Time. Sunburn Goa 2014 will be a great way to end the year with all day party, in-ternational DJs and the best of dance music.
We wish you a very Happy Christmas & A very Awesomely Prosperous New Year.
See you next Year

Knowledge can take you from A to B. Imagination can take you everywhere. An awesome ride to Choral Dam with cameras fully loaded like Machine Guns. Ride Begins from Shekhar Central to Choral but if you are a true Indori you cannot imagine to start your day without POHA & JALEBI.
Cars turned to Chappan Shop. We controlled our feelings and ate just
one plate of Poha because our imagination had taken us to RAU ki Kachori with KULFI, which we could not risk to miss.
What a scene it was, more than 12000 smiling children seen at a single platform. The beautiful morning of 11th November witnessed the biggest drawing competition ever. It was the annual
peace poster making competition conducted by the Lions Club of Indore. The grandeur of the event was such that, nearly all schools of Indore took part in the competition. The
venue, Sri Gujrati Samaj School ground was completely filled
with kids with different age groups; the occasion saw the best of
the diver- sity possible in the city. We Leos got the responsibility of
doing the registration of all the children.
The outcome of the event was that Lions Club applied for the Guinness Book of World Records, and surely the name would be registered in
the history as the previous record was for just 4000 students.
Nearly 10 members of our club attended the event. It was also an intra- district twining activ-ity as all other clubs of the dis-
trict were also a part of the event. We are very thankful to Lions club for giving us the opportunity to be a part of this event which taught us how to conduct this level of event. Im sure this experience would prove handy in future when
we have to conduct any event of similar scale.

lipkart, which is regarded as one of the most popular and successful e-commerce ventures in India, was started by Sachin Bansal in 2007, post his job at Amazon. Sachin Bansal shares his journey from Flipkarts inception to what it is today in the following interview.
WHEN AND HOW DID THE IDEA OF FLIPKART CAME INTO BEING?
SACHIN: It We started Flipkart in the latter half of 2007. When we started, the country was already witnessing quite a bit of interest in e-commerce in the form of booking of online tickets etc. Our first thought was to start a comparison shopping website that would cater to the growing Indian e-commerce market. However when we further probed the idea, our research revealed that companies in India had still not succeeded in creating a comprehensive e-commerce ecosystem that ensures convenience and security from the customers perspective. The entire category was plagued with issues like delayed deliveries; wrong product deliveries, improper product description etc. Sensing an opportunity, we decided to start an e-commerce company that would focus on providing a great shopping experience to its customers.
WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST CHALLENGES YOU FACED AT THE TIME OF STARTING FLIPKART AND WHAT ARE THE PRESENT CHALLENGES YOU FACE IN RUNNING IT?
SACHIN: The initial challenges we faced were teething troubles common to most start-ups. It was tough to generate supplier confidence in us and the inability to keep a large enough inventory posed an issue. Slowly however, we succeeded in building up both customer and supplier confidence. Traffic to the site started picking up through word-of-mouth publicity and from then on there has been no looking back.Today, the challenges are different. We have built our business on the premise of providing a great shopping experience to the customer and our biggest challenge is to maintain the same quality of service while we rapidly scale up the size of our operations. The other challenge is to think big; in terms of scales that are yet to be employed in online retail businesses (travel being an exception) in India.
WHAT WILL BE YOUR SUGGESTION FOR NEW START UPS OR STUDENTS PLANNING TO TAKE UP ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN ONLINE RETAIL?
SACHIN: Our suggestion for new start-ups in online retail will be to focus on keeping their customers happy. In online retail, repeat purchase plays a big role as getting a new customer to buy from your website is much tougher than getting an existing customer to repurchase. By putting the needs of their customer first and listening to what they have to say, companies can succeed in building up a loyal customer base.

Someone once said, I am in competition with no one. I have no desire to play the game of being better than any-one. I am simply trying to be better than the person I was yesterday. These are the words that have stayed with me and guided me through life. Such are the values I always
wanted to inculcate in my children.
Today, when I see my daughter, I feel I have been successful and Leo Club has been instrumental in this regard. The Club has given numerous opportunities to its members, includ-ing my daughter, to organize and participate in events of all sizes and scales. It has given them several chances to
make mistakes, learn from them, and grow as individuals. And most importantly, it has taught them to be better than
themselves and emerge as confident personalities.
I have been to some of the events of the Club and have always been impressed by the leadership displayed by
the youth of today. One way of working is to do after you learn. But the way adopted by youngsters today is to learn while you are doing, i.e, they learn by experimenting. I feel
this is a very positive attitude encouraged in the Club.
To sum up, I feel the Club is doing a commendable job. I would like to wish the Club as well as all its members all
the very best for their future endeavours!

Its a Discernable ottoman, which you can keep any corner of your house, to add some GLAMOUR to your usual monotonous house. Lets quickly start making it.
THINGS REQUIRED
Tyres - One or two, Depending on the height.Drilling machine
Nuts and bolt1/2 thick ply wood sheet
Rope (I have used 175 ft long,15 mm cotton rope)Glue gun
PROCESS
First of all thoroughly clean the tires, let them dry for a day. Keep both the tire one above the other, and mark the four places on the inner side of the top tire, to drill holes, which passes top
surface of the second tire and then fit nut and bolt. Now apply glue generously on the top of the tire to paste the plywood sheet. Make sure that it has proper support and it doesnt slip. Then
start gluing the rope on tires. Just take care that you paste the rope very closely. You need to be fast as glue cools up very quickly. I had a spare a 20 mm thick round cut glass at home, so thought
of placing it on ottoman and using it as a table. It is required to be fixed on the plywood sheet used. You can use different style and different colors to paste the rope. Use your creativity to make
a different ottoman and do post pictures.
Take care of your body. Its the only place, you have to live.
