St. Therese News Dear Families,

It may not seem like a milestone occasion to you, but we had 100% participation for conferences with our Young Fives through 5th grade families. I know of many schools who would be happy with a fraction of that. It is a testament to you, the parents of our beloved students and to the culture of commitment to the very best for our school. So I say, thank you. To our preschool families, I will look forward to seeing in the near future!

As our Month of the Holy Rosary comes to end, we look forward to November kicking off with All Saints Day and All Souls Day. All Saints Day is a Holy Day of Obligation and we will have Mass at 9:30 on Friday morning. Please join us if you are available. All Souls Day, while not a Holy Day of Obligation, has some traditions which are rooted deep in the history of the Church. All Souls Day is when we remember our family members who have proceeded us to our heavenly home and we pray for all the souls in purgatory. In order to honor our family members, a display will be set up in the upper hallway starting next week. Please feel free to bring a picture of a friend, family member, or loved one who has passed. On Friday, November 8, we will have a short prayer service to pray for them all.

(cont.) The seasons are changing quickly and our calendar for the next couple of months is brimming over with special events. If you have any questions, ideas, or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. St. Therese of Lisieux, pray for us!

Yours in Christ,

Sheryl:)

School Coffee - Sunday, October 20 after 10:00am Mass, the school will be sponsoring coffee and donuts. Thank you to Katie Hahnenberg and Stephanie Gibson for donating their time!

Bake Sale - Thank you everyone for your amazing support! With your help, our 5th grade class raised $161.24 for their science camp fund! This amount includes a generous donation towards their goal. Job well done 5th graders!

Conferences - Thank you to everyone for a smooth conference evening and for making sure we had 100% participation! Your support and dedication is always appreciated.

Henika Library Fridays - There aren't many schools that have such an amazing resource only 2 blocks away and so we are planning on taking full advantage of Henika Library this year. Mrs. Miller will be taking the classes to Henika for a mini-lesson and book check out about every 2 weeks. (It doesn't work out perfectly that way, but that's the goal.) Teachers may decide to take kids to the library in between times. For kindergarten-third grade, students will be checking out books using a school library card and those books will be kept at school for use during silent reading and other appropriate times. Fourth and Fifth grade will have their own library card and will be able to take their books home so they may use them for their reading logs. The next dates for book check with Mrs. Miller are November 8, November 22 and December 6. Of course, we encourage you as a family to use Henika Library for other books to read and enjoy together at home. As always, if you have any questions, please reach out. Happy Reading!

Y5-5 Halloween Classroom Parties - Students will be changing into their costumes at 2:45. Parties will begin immediately following. Teachers and/or Classroom Moms should begin communicating any party needs shortly. Please keep costumes school appropriate, no weapons or overly scary costumes. Also - please keep in mind that we do have severe peanut allergies when sending in treats. Thank you!.
