St. Therese News Happy All Saints Day!

Today is the day we gather as a church family to celebrate those who have already arrived in heaven, also known as the Church Triumphant. They are the Saints who preceded us and are already interceding for us at the throne of God. We can learn much from their lives, and I mean their real lives! Many of the Saints lived gritty, hard lives who show us by example that God comes to redeem not just the already saintly minded, but all of us who get caught up in day to day life and need help loving God by loving our neighbor.

Tomorrow is All Souls Day where we remember the souls of those who are destined for heaven but are undergoing a period of purification first. We rejoice for these souls because they are on their way to heaven, but we can also pray for them as they are in purgatory. We call these souls the Church Suffering. Next Friday, November 8, we will be coming together to pray for all our loved ones who have gone before us. Please feel free to add a photograph of your family members or friends to our display in the hallway so that we can remember them, not just on the 8th, but all month long.

St. Therese, pray for us!

Sheryl

Bearing present difficulties calmly

Prayer Dear God, Help me to wait without complaining, to see You in my neighbor, and to let Your grace

enter this moment so that I may not lose my patience.

Ways to CultivateAges 6 and up: Wait your turn; do not get upset if things do not go your way: "I will not complain."

Ages 10 and up: Be a good listener and don't interrupt; wait your turn.

Ages 12 and up: Listen to others; wait for your turn; tolerate inconveniences and annoyances.
