SLPL is giving away free copies of a book to anyone in 6th grade and up (including adults). The book giveaway this Ɵme is "10 Things I Hate About Pinky" by Sandhya Menon, a (teen) romanƟc comedy featuring characters who don't like each other but are forced to get along one summer. Middleschool students can get a free copy of the book at any of the St. Louis Public Library branches. All they have to do is ask for it. No library card is required and the book is theirs to keep. The next Holy Name Society (Men’s Club) meeƟng is Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. Current school dads are encouraged to join and learn from veteran SSP dads and grandfathers about the important ministry of being a ChrisƟan role model for your children in today’s society. For more informaƟon, visit www.saintstephenstl.org/holynamesociety. CongratulaƟons to the newest SSP STAR Inductees: KaƟe West, who encouraged a classmate (who aƩempted to be invisible) to acƟvely play the ouƞield by saying, “I have faith in you!” Elise Goedeker, who came to the aid of a kindergartner who needed assistance in the girls bathroom. Bryce McMahon for helping big brother Brock as he adjusts to navigaƟng SSP with a cast and crutches. (Bryce was the beneciary of Brock’s brotherly love last year; it is great to seeing Bryce paying it forward!) Finally, Theresa Lueke for eshing out the Summer Reading program and to all the students who parƟcipated. While most of our students parƟcipated in the summer reading program, 108 read enough books (Ɵer 4) to earn a NUT Card and 100 of those (Ɵer 5) read and documented the required books to qualify for the epic water balloon ght this aŌernoon! The PTO will host SSP Movie Night on Friday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. on the Lower Lot. SSP students are narrowing down the feature lm from a group of 5 familyfriendly movies. (See page 2 of the Notes for specics.) Any 7th and 8th graders available to help this evening to sell concessions for service hours should contact Mr. Sturgill. Thank you to the PTO for its conƟnued support of our school community.
