ACTION
Community Survey (On-line)
In addition to the Teaching and Learning Review distributed at the end of Term 3, the BOT are conducting an online
Community Survey. A school survey has been sent out to email addresses provided by families at the end of last
term, through a programme called Survey Monkey. The link simply requires you to follow the instructions provided
to complete the survey. The results of the survey will give valuable strategic information for the BOT 2010 Annual
Plan. Please complete the survey as soon as possible. Thank you.
Immunisation Letter:
Thank you to parents who returned updated immunisation forms. While a number of you indicated your child was
fully immunised, many forms, however, lacked specific medical verification of your childs immunisation status.
Therefore, a second notice will be going out to those families from whom we require medical certificates from your
family doctor. Please return these forms with medical verification to the school office. Thank you.
Sunhats: The sun is becoming quite intense on sunny days and can easily burn faces/arms, and any exposed skin. Please make sure your child has a sunhat each day for school. Thank you.
Vegie Plant Donation: We are asking the children to bring a vegetable seedling to plant in the school garden. See
attached notice.

Coprincipals Update: Teaching and Learning Review Summary (see attached)
The C.T.M.S. School Review is an essential form of communication that gives the staff and Board of Trustees valuable
information on aspects of the school programme, community liaison and particular focus areas for future planning. This
information is feed into curriculum programme developments at school. Last term 31 families responded to the School
Teaching and Learning Review distributed through the Events Newsletter. This information has been collated and the following
report written. It is interesting to note that there was an overwhelming positive response from our parent community as to the
quality teaching and learning programmes provided at CTMS and the sound academic and social progress many parents feel
their child/ren are making in their learning. Parent response also identified that the community ethos experienced within the
school is highly valued at CTMS.

Surf Life saving Day: (Tuesday 15th December) Thank you to all parents who have volunteered to support our surf
life saving day. We now have enough adults for the minimum parent/child ratio required for water activities. Those
who have volunteered should have received a briefing letter sent out on yesterday (Thursday). Our Surf life saving
Day can now go ahead. If you have not volunteered and would like to do so, we would welcome extra pairs of eyes and
hands for the day! Please contact Raewyn in the school office
Kahikatea Camp Photos: We have included photos of Kahikateas camp at Forest Lakes. Many children seem to have
made a full energy recovery and are looking much brighter after a well earned rest!
