Foundation Home

Make-over Project

A NEW HOME FOR

ELVIS, JULIA AND

FAMILY

March 2014-January 2015

Dominican Starfish Foundation Director, Louise ZoBell met

Elvis and Julia in March of 2014. She was walking through

the communities with Dominican Director, Amarilis Urena

taking pictures of families with great need. Elvis and Julia

certainly met that description.

Elvis is a carpenter. He builds the doors and windows for

homes in our foundation. This way he ekes out an

existence for his wife, two brothers-in-law and his small

son.

The very look on the faces reflects their dire need.

Julia is pictured here with her brother

Roberto who lost

his site in a construction accident.

In January 2014, Toni ZoBell visited the Dominican Republic

and participated in many humanitarian activities. Here she

is picture sorting clothes for the distribution center. After her

experience she went back to Lethbridge, Alberta. She then

went to Nicaragua and sold her retirement property and

donated the money to build a home for a family in the

Dominican Republic. Elvis and Julia were chosen to be

recipients of this wonderful blessing in their lives.

They were overcome with emotion

when they heard that they had a

sponsor so that they would have a

new home.
