About ProjectSpecifications

DC Publication - Working Title Chapter break down

Working Title is broken down in to four chapters, these chapters mark different influences that have impacted me and my design style. I feel these chapters best represent my day to day inspiration in graphic design. For me this is the sort of work I want to be producing and this is where I see myself going as I grow as a designer.

Chapter One looks at format and Function and the relationship it has with typography and layout, Chapter two looks at graphic design for sectors such as the culture sector or the fashion sector and how there’s a change in trends within these sectors. Chapter three is about Locations and is a showcase of work from around the world. Finally, none of the work showcased in this publication would be anything without the typography used so the final fourth chapter is dedicated to typography.

Content Includes self directed interview with Jore Gilmore (Qu-bik) and Rosario Florio and Larissa Kasper, These designers have influenced my practice greatly particularly Rosario Florio so the fact that he agreed to answer some questions and take some time out to help me with content I hugly happy with and the answers he gave even inspired the sub title of the publication... ‘Thinking, Do-ing, Rethinking.)

DC Publication - Working Title Content & Interviews

When I originally started this project I didn’t want the publication to be purely image based I wanted copy in the publication which was really thought provoking as well as conducting my own inter-view I have sourced various other copy and interview which I feel is appropriate and completely relevant and insightful to my own practice and influence.

Overview

DC Publication - Working Title Selected Spreads

Generally I am really pleased with how this project has turned out not just in terms of the final physical product but also the progress made throughout the making of this brief. Its been steady and very enjoyable. How could I not love putting my ideal design publication together? I hope to reference this publication later on in my design career to see how I have developed as a designer from a student to a working professional.

This publication was printed with Lulu generally I’m really happy with how it has come out, image quality is good (enough) and its been bound, trimmed and in full colour so for what I paid I am very satisfied with how it has come out.
