FruiThe Brief

Frui Treatment is a new brand of natural hair care products. The brief was to create a brand identity and packaging that would stand out from the current market. The brand is a high end boutique product which will have a small boutique shop based in The Corn Exchange, Leeds.

The Concept

The concept is based on fruit and all of it’s natural goodness. The products are hand made and use only the best fruit and natural ingredients to leave hair naturally nourished. The products are exclusive from the Frui shop so the execution of the concept must reflect on its exclusivity.

The Design

The logo uses a typeface called Ever After, which is a very elegant font. The detail of the illustrated fruit has been kept to a minimal to reflect on the ingredients of the products. The colours of the fruit compliment the grey of the logo to give a perfect balance on the packaging of the products.

FruiThe product range consists of a volumising Apple shampoo and conditioner, a moisturising Coconut shampoo and conditioner, a Lemon detox spritzer and an Avocado ultimate treatment.

I wanted to keep the designs of the packaging very simple but I wanted them to have a high impact. I have used the fruit illustration and the logo to communicate what the product is and underneath is the product description.

On the back of the packaging I have added the ingredients, a ‘how to use’, a barcode, the website, the use by date and the recycling logo for the bottle. This information is what I found on other bottles for hair products whilst conducting research.

FruiI have designed a shopping bag for the Frui Treatment shop which is what customers would take their purchased products away in. I have kept the design simple by using just the logo to brand it. I have used organza string for the handles to further communicate the natural concept of the brand.

As Frui is a boutique shop I decided to design a receipt holder. The receipt would be stapled inside for the customer so it would be easily recognisable. I also thought it added a high end touch. I have used the fruit illustrations for the inside of the holder to brighten it up. The receipt in the holder has also been designed to show how an actual receipt would look from the shop.

FruiTo promote the new brand and boutique shop I have designed a promotional hand out. I have used the same concept as the bottle tags, using acetate and white card patterned with the fruit illustrations. One side of the hand out has the Frui Treatment logo on it, whilst the other side has a written statement from Frui which explains their ethos. I have attached the three elements together using the organza string, to keep the materials consistent with the bag.

Frui will also have discount vouchers available to hand out to new customers. The idea is that when a customer purchases a product they would recieve a 25% discount voucher to spend next time, therefore encouraging more sales. The voucher is long and thin and uses the same fruit pattern as the hand out to keep everything consistent.

FruiThe design of the product range looks consistent and my approach towards a high end, boutique product has turned out well. I could see this as a real brand, selling well in a high end boutique environment.
