Continues through Sept. 5 LYONIA GALLERY: Florida Vernacular Rick Lang is a documentary photographer and educator whose photographic work reflects his interest in the history and culture of the American South. This exhibition presents a grouping of images of vernacular and often simple signs and buildings from many different parts of Florida. These images demonstrate Lang's commitment to documenting the signs and symbols used by everyday citizens to make their voice and opinions public. The Southeast Museum of Photography's new Lyonia Gallery presents exhibitions and programs related to the environment, land-use, local history and regional culture in an exhibition space in Volusia County Government's new LYONIA ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER. The museum gallery occupies display space immediately adjacent to the environmental exhibits area of the Center. Open during Lyonia Environmental Center's hours of operation: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Wednesday; 9 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1 – 5 p.m. Sunday. Florida 12-Hour Advanced Driver Improvement Course (ADI) This 12-Hour advanced driver improvement course helps individuals looking to get their license back after a suspension or revocation. The state approved self-paced class is offered completely online, allowing students 90 days to complete the material and have their license reinstated without traveling to a classroom or purchasing additional workbooks. Florida Boating Safety Course Boating courses provide online instruction on how to safely operate a marine craft and get a boating license. If you are under 21 and operating a boat that has 10 hp or more, you are required to take a safe boating course. This curriculum meets state requirements for basic boater education and includes a final exam approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and recognized by the United States Coast Guard. Head Coach of the College’s Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving program for both men and women, Steve Lochte will serve as Camp Director and will be assisted by Kristen Lochte, a six-time All-American for the National Champions. Campers, aged nine to 16, will learn the foundation techniques that are essential to stronger, faster, and more efficient competitive swimming. All four strokes will be broken down with the identical tips that Ryan Lochte, learned and continues to practice. There will be two water workouts and two lectures per day. Lecture topics include dry-land training tips, race strategy, nutrition, seasonal planning, biomechanical improvements, meet preparation, and other topics pertinent to competitive swimming.
