A powerful hybrid styles of Janis Joplin and Tina Turner, Mike was so knocked out with Sari that he offered to come out of retirement and produce an album with her. Already a consummate songwriter, with tracks on major labels, Sari has written or co-written most of the songs on the new album, “A Force of Nature” New Yorker, Sari, has had several years of touring the USA & Europe with Joe Louis Walker and Poppa Chubby which brought Sari to greater prominence in the blues world to the extent that she was recently inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame. Sari has now put together her own band – THE ENGINE ROOM, featuring British guitarist Innes Sibun, formerly with Robert Plant. Together they are now on a US and European wide tour to celebrate the release of Sari’s debut album on Manhaton Records. The Band kicked off her groundbreaking tour in Feb this year at Carnegie Hall in NY performing with Buddy Guy, Walter Trout, Eric Burdon, Edgar Winter, Dana Fuchs, Kenny Wayne Shepherd & Laurence Jones on the Lead Belly Fest. Supported by THE ENGINE ROOM who came together in the UK to undertake the UK and European Records. The Engine Room is fueled by the fiery guitar work of Innes Sibun and the exceptional musicianship of the highly accomplished rhythm section. This is a rare opportunity to see one of New Yorks finest up close and should prove to be he year’s highlight of the Tavern’s Blues Sessions. GRANNY’S, PUPPETS AND PYROTECHNICS – IT’S ALL COMING TO CAISTOR

SUNDAY OCTOBER 2nd On 2 October the streets of Caistor will come to life with music, street theatre, live performances and pyrotechnics from local and national artists. There will be something for everyone and best of all, it is totally free.

The Wolds Arts Festival will bring some of the most talented performers from around the country to West Lindsey.

Giganti, a large scale puppet inspired by local legend, will be led through the streets of Caistor by pupils from Caistor Primary School.

No pavement will be safe when Doris and Marge arrive on their souped-up shopping trolleys. Listen out for the screech of burning rubber and their pumping tunes. There are also opportunities to learn to juggle and listen to live music from local artists.

The grand finale see’s the performance of New Fantasia – a mesmerizing combination of live music, projections and a pyrotechnic display- all taking place on the Cabinet of Curiosity, an inflatable purple stage!

Cllr Owen Bierley, ward member for Caistor at WLDC said: “The Wolds Arts Festival is a first for West Lindsey. We hope it will showcase what these two towns have to offer and provide a major boost to the local economy.“It’s not every day that you get to enjoy live theatre and music for free in the open air. Caistor will provide the most beautiful backdrop for the festival’s second day and I would urge people to come along, get involved and enjoy.“It is a lovely opportunity to mix big entertainers with local artists and also to get the schools involved.”

WLDC is delighted to also be working in partnership with Caistor Goes Events Committee and volunteers. They are providing support with sound, stage, road closures and diversions, helping to make this event a real community effort.

Cllr Carol MacKenzie, Mayor of Caistor said: “Caistor is well known for its vibrant community and thanks to its hard working volunteers on the Events Committee is able to enjoy several entertaining events throughout each year. “However we are delighted that West Lindsey District Council have secured funding for this event which will bring immense enjoyment to the people of Caistor and the surrounding area."

The free festival will showcase excellent local acts alongside some of the most talented performers from around the country.

The fun starts in Caistor at 5pm on Sunday 2 October, giving people the opportunity to explore this beautiful town beforehand.

Magna Vitae are experienced in delivering popular family outdoor entertainment and have pulled a varied programme together for the two day events.

The festival starts in Market Rasen on Lincolnshire Day which is celebrated every year on 1 October. It marks the anniversary of the Lincolnshire Rising, a revolt by Catholics against the establishment of the Church of England by Henry VIII in 1536. So get your Lincolnshire flags out & flying
