EDUCATING RITA - UPDATED INFORMATION Sunday 5th May 2013, 7.30pm. Caistor Town Hall professional theatre company Hambledon Productions is bringing its latest show Educating Rita to the area, visiting Caistor Town Hall on Sunday 5th May. We've been established in the area for six years promoting local arts through new writing and classics. Last year we had our most successful show - Hancock's Half Hour: The Lost Episodes - which transferred for a sell-out weeks run in London over the festive period. To add to that, we performed our own sell-out show STOP!... You're Killing Me at the Soho Theatre in London last year, and gained a 4* review from Whatsonstage.Rachael Hewer began her drama career with CATS and she is very proud and pleased to be returning to Caistor with her professional production of Willy Russell's well-loved play "Educating Rita".Rachael, together with her brother John, run the locally based theatre company, Hambledon Productions which has been granted an exclusive licence to tour with the play. EDUCATING RITA is a comedy by award-winning Liverpudlian playwright, Willy Russell.Susan (who initially calls herself Rita), dissatisfied with the routine of her work and social life, seeks inner

growth by signing up for an Open University course in English Literature. Rita's tutor, Frank, is a middle-aged, alcoholic academic who has taken on the tutorship to pay for his drink. The two have an immediate and profound effect on one another; and the play tells the story of Rita's development and growth as she is "educated" and the effect that the process has on Frank and his attitude to education and his own life and career. EDUCATING RITA is presented by HAMBLEDON PRODUCTIONS and is directed by Daniel Slater with original music by Mark-Anthony Turnage.
