CAISTOR YARBOROUGH ACADEMY

GOVERNORS Do you have something to offer our Governing Body?

CYA’s Governing Body is made up of individuals from diverse backgrounds who bring a wide variety of skills and attributes to support the Academy’s continued progress and improvement.

A recent audit of these skills has identified gaps in certain key areas. We are therefore looking for people with experience and expertise in those areas, coupled with a desire to play a part in driving the Academy forward, to join our Governing Body. Particular areas identified are:

- an understanding and experience of governance and professional leadership;- financial oversight;- premises & facilities management;- links within the local & business communities;- engineering;- curriculum;- education.

This list is not exhaustive, and if you have an aptitude in another area that you feel would be equally beneficial, please let us know. We know there are a lot of talented people in our community – why not share those talents for the benefit of our students and the wider community?

If this is you, please contact me via the Clerk to Governors (Mrs D Worthington) for an informal chat as to what the role entails. Email: [email protected] or call 01472 855906.

CAISTOR ARTS & HERITAGE CENTRE MONTHLY EXHIBITIONJuly: Rosemary AbrahamMy paintings explore at least four subjects: floral, landscape, abstract and seascape. The landscapes are inspired particularly by North Yorkshire for its dramatic power and the simplicity of a largely uninhabited countryside. My abstract paintings are geometrically constructed and textural, working onto a plaster base; metal foils and varnishes are added occasionally to provide a further dimension.Saturday July 2nd Meet The Artist 1130-1330

TALK TALK SCAMCAISTOR RESIDENT Monday 26th June: I was called twice today by people purporting to be from Talk Talk. They alleged there was a fault with my router which required attention. On the first occasion I voiced my suspicion it was a scam and they hung up after giving me some verbal abuse. On the second occasion I allowed the conversation to run a little longer and it turned out they wanted to send an engineer around on Thursday to replace my router and secure my internet connection. Again, after further questioning from me they again hung up. I later reported the incidents to TalkTalk who logged them as scam attempts.
