For Global Citizen Team

If there's 1 memorable thing I got from Global Citizen: it's VIRUS :) My laptop had to be reformatted

because of the thousands of virus I got from Newton Grammar School when GC Team had a month-long

workshop with them. But thanks to the virus, I'm now have an effective anti-virus installed in my laptop

and what was then a Win7 Starter OS is now a Win7 Professional one :p

But there's another kind of VIRUS I got from Global Citizen: it's the CHANGE VIRUS. While we were

giving workshops to students for 2 months, I didn't realize that I was also opening myself to new things

and changing for the better. I was learning from the workshop content and from my interaction with my

fellow team members and the students as well. But just like any other virus in hunger for a new prey, you

gotta pass it on. Once you know you've changed, you got to pay it forward. And that's the advocacy of the

entire GC team which it wants to instill to the students: by awareness creation through the workshops, the

individual's desire to change and to create a positive impact to society should be formed. And basing with

the feedback and experience I had with the students, I think we've asserted that advocacy strong enough.

Infecting Lieu Giai High School, Newton Grammar School and FPT University with the CHANGE

VIRUS isn't enough. I believe we have to create an EPIDEMIC of CHANGE in all of Vietnam's youth.

We have to reach out to a greater mass of young people and let them know that if only everyone learns to

adopt a global citizen mindset, there's a big potential to transform the country and the world into a better

place. GC Team's there to provide the tools, you just gotta make good use of it and spread the virus :)

If you are a Brazilian, to come to Vietnam is truly to go to the opposite part of the globe. In my case, who was crossing the Atlantic Sea for the first time, the impact was total. Although we have almost the same natural sights, the way we deal with it is totally different. I really like the Vietnamese way of build the city

around the lakes, preserving the nature and constructing his own urbanism. About the AIESEC, thanks very much to make it possible to me. They are the exactly example of leadership, if that is what you want, enjoy it.

DIEGO FERRARI – Intern from Global Leadership Activating Day 2011

I am Charis from Germany. I was

really excited to come to Hanoi and

to get in touch with a totally new

culture and new people. The

welcoming was so warm and nice

and I can’t think about a better host

family. Hanoi is a buzzing city

with a lot of place to go to and to visit.

The streets are full of life and sometimes you don’t even know where to

look first.

It’s great to meet a country from inside and to find yourself in the

middle of a life changing experience.

Hello, guys! My name is Nastia, and I came here, to Hanoi, from Russia to contribute to the GLAD 2011. Now I can assure you that it’s the most impressive summer I had ever. The participation in this project is the opportunity for me not only to explore other culture, but to contribute to it. Great! People here are sooo nice, and everything is sooo wonderful. Im sure that our work will have its positive impact on all the society and well have great time together.

That’s why enjoy my work, guys there (by the way, most of them have perfect English, that’s why I have a great practice time here), and exploring the everyday life of people of other culture, their habits, traditions, mentality, way of thinking. Simply perfect!

Boeva Anastasia – Intern from Global Leadership Activating Day 2011

Wow! Ha Noi is a very

unique city with many

interesting things. The

people are so friendly, and

of course the foods are very

delicious! And GLAD itself

will be an event which will

create a big impact to the

youth. I believe that all of

GLAD participant will be the next agents of change & future leaders

who will create the better world. Together, yes we can!
