ConclusionsConclusions
1) 2005 recommended varieties (FM 960 types, FM 989 types, DP 455BR) looked good again in 2006.
2) The only Flex varieties that looked good were AFD 5064F and AFD 5065B2F (tested at one site only with Verticillium wilt).
3) PM 2326RR was highly ranked in two tests. BCG 520R, AFD Raider 271, PG 440W, FM 832LL, and FM 988LLB2 were highly ranked at one site.
Thanks to the Cotton State Support Committee and Plains Cotton Improvement Programs for funding support.
Thanks to the producers for allowing us to test the varieties in their fields: Chris Bednarz (Slaton), Preston Turner (Levelland), Cooper Ellison (Petersburg), Walter King (Brownfield).
Thanks to the IPM and County agents that assisted in the sites: Kerry Siders (Levelland), Scott Russell (Brownfield), Emilio Nino (Earth), Warren Multer (Garden City) and Michael Dollie (Petersburg).
