Quality Turbocharger

Quality Turbocharger has the reliability and experience to meet your turbocharger requirements. With more

than 25 years in business supplying new and remanufactured turbochargers, Quality Turbocharger is one of

the most recognized names in the industry. In addition to our remanufactured turbochargers, we recently

introduced our own new turbochargers for the EMD™645 engine series and we are currently developing a

turbocharger for the 710 model.

Customer satisfaction is the number one goal of Quality Turbocharger. We take great pride in the fact that our

success is truly dependent on not only supplying new and remanufactured turbochargers but also working

with our customers as partners to further develop our knowledge base to meet the ever changing market.

It is through these partnerships that we have come to understand that the needs of our customers can vary

greatly. Those variations in customer needs and requirements have led us to offer a variety of options for our

customers regarding our new and remanufactured turbochargers.

Because of our dedicated employees and our continuing improvements to work processes and programs, we

are able to tailor our turbocharger builds to the needs of our customers.

Quality Turbocharger also takes great pride in being able to respond to our customer needs quickly. Our

experienced sales and shop personnel understand having what the customer needs when it’s needed.

While our immediate response and flexible scheduling are important, product reliability is what keeps our

customers running. Our ISO-9001 based quality program which currently holds an Association of American

Railroads M-1003 certificate and an EPA Non-OEM Component Certification gives our customers the

confidence in Quality Turbochargers is committed to providing only the highest quality products.

In addition to new and remanufactured turbochargers Quality Turbochargers also offers turbocharger

installation and provides technical field service worldwide. Quality Turbocharger originally created a complete

in house machine shop to service our own internal needs during the turbocharger rebuilding process, but

through our continued efforts to better serve our customers we have now made available our machine shop

services for R&D to complete production runs.

We take pride in providing turbochargers to meet our customer needs and our shop facilities, we welcome

Remanufactured Turbochargers

We have implemented our renowned standards of precision work with small turbochargers into the large

medium speed engine turbochargers we remanufacture. The most demanding user can be assured of

continued high performance and longevity with attractive cost savings.

Our remanufactured turbochargers are built to OEM specifications and meet or exceed OEM standards. All

older turbochargers are upgraded to present technological improvements and as a result perform as well or

better than when they were new.

All remanufactured turbochargers are covered by Quality Turbochargers standard warranty, but an option for

extended warranties is available to meet the customer’s requirements.

Our turbocharger technicians and shop personnel have more than 60 years combined experience in the

disassembly, qualification and precision assembly of medium speed engine turbochargers.

All incoming parts are inspected to O.E.M. dimensions.

Calibrated precision measuring instrumentation is used to check all new and re-

qualified component parts.



A precision table is used to dowel all main casings and component parts. Every turbocharger we build

is processed across the table to make sure all casings are properly aligned. Special trunnions are used

during tear down and assembly of turbochargers.


All rotors are precision balanced on a Schenck balancer which is

capable of handling 35 to 500 lbs.

Remanufactured rotors are balanced to meet or exceed O.E.M.

specifications

Through our certified quality assurance program we perform and log multiple quality checks throughout the

turbocharger rebuilding process.

At Quality Turbocharger we provide service for a variety of turbocharger manufactures including EMD™,

GE™, ALCO™, CAT™, Cooper Bessemer™ and Brown Boveri™.


Additional Services

Quality Turbocharger was established with the philosophy of any job worth doing was worth doing right. Based

on that philosophy Quality Turbocharger continues to find ways to better serve the needs of our customers and

maximize the usage of our equipment and knowledgeable staff.

That thinking has led to Quality Turbocharger offering our machine shop services for everything from single item

custom machine work through complete production runs. Our capabilities include reverse engineering, solid

modeling, machine programming and finish machining. Quality Turbocharger can also serve as the warehouse

for our customers allowing releases to meet the requirements of just in time inventory.

Because of our own internal quality control processes used during the assembly and repair of our turbochargers

we can offer these same services to our customers and serve as an off site quality control inspection center

checking critical dimensions against engineered drawings using an assortment of instruments from our CMM

machine to variety of calibrated precision measuring instruments as well as hardness and surface finish testers.

Along with our machine shop capabilities Quality Turbocharger also offers custom fabrication work including

welding, bending and cutting, on steel, aluminum and many other metals.

In addition to our machine shop and quality inspection capabilities Quality Turbocharger offers generator and

electric motor remanufacturing. All units are cleaned, baked, rewound, rewired, repaired, dipped and run tested.
