solemnity. This Day is being observed to

    remember the thirty-five thousand innocent

civilians martyred during terrorist attacksincluding women children and over three

fighting valiantly against the terrorists. The

day began with special prayers in mosques

after Fajr prayers for the eternal peace of the departed souls and a resolve to defeat the

terrorism and uproot it permanently. Wreath laying ceremonies are held at Yadgar-e-Shuhada

across the country to commemorate the sacrifices of Pakistan Army. The people will pay

tributes to Armed Forces and its agencies for sacrificing their lives in fighting the terrorism

with main ceremony being held at GHQ Rawalpindi tonight where Chief of Army Staff

General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani is the host. Pakistanis in Australia took the lead yesterday by

remembering the sacrifices and combining this event with ANZAC day. Two movies were

screened namely The Sounds of Silence and Life of a Siachen Soldier with tributes to both

    Australian and Pakistani troops.

Amina Syed in her speech Living a vision spoke at length about the vision of Quaide Azam

    with Fateha by Munir.
