Page 1: My Resume-Cover Letter (generic)

Dear possible future employer,

I was excited to see you have a position available, and I'm hoping I may be invited for an interview. I am a proud mother of two, but am unfortunately out of work at the moment. I am looking for a career that will allow me to support my family, satisfy my ambition and drive, while also allowing me to dedicate more of my time to my children. I believe by working for you, I will finally be able to achieve that desperately sought-after balance, while also making a great addition to your team!

My background includes working as a customer service associate within both call-center and office environments. Most recently, I was employed as a patient service representative for Confluence Health, where my responsibilities included handling an average of 58-70 patient phone calls for questions on insurance and billing, correcting billing errors and taking payments, helping patients apply for financial assistance, as well as maintaining multiple workques and processing paperwork. During a previous break in employment, I served as a temporary receptionist for both Mortgage Advisory Group and Cobb Poirier White Insurance.

Previously, I was employed as a legal assistant for Armada Corp. This was the most challenging position I have held thus far. I learned how to deal with difficult people and situations by mediating between their clients, debt collectors, debtors, and employers, as well as Armada's attorney and the district courts to collect debts owed. I created and submitted the legal documentation required by the courts, all while managing a daily WIP (work-in-progress) of 50-300 accounts all in different stages of the legal process, monitoring debtor's payment plans, and answering phone calls for legal questions and concerns.

In addition to this experience, I have gained considerable knowledge and marketing skills as a business owner. I manage Cherished Occasions Wedding & Event Planning during my free time. I do my own scheduling, accounting and bookkeeping as well as referrals. I also bring to the table strong computer proficiencies in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and QuickBooks, as well as Epic and Cerner hospital systems. Please see the accompanying resume for details of my experience and education.

I am confident that I can offer you the customer service, communication and problem-solving skills you are seeking. Feel free to call me at 509-630-8171 to arrange an interview. I look forward hearing from you and learning more about this opportunity. Please seriously consider me for the position you are offering. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Sincerely,

Kendra Jimenez
