asked media to expand their "sole craving for

political issues" and focus more on highlighting

educational and health issues.

Media Urged to Highlight Health Issues

Media managers have stressed the need for allocating more resources

by the owners and through various sponsors to highlight public

health issues in media and put this on the political agendas to make

healthcare available to everyone.

Columnist Babar Sattar said health issues can become political issues but anchorpersons do not give importance to them, as they themselves are

from the elite and such issues do not directly affect them.

The Nation Rameeza Majid Nizami questioning the timing of the debate said that media owners have to be told how they can allocate resources when they have limited resources and how they could

give importance to health issues when there are so many important issues emerging.

The media is an important tool of building

& generating opinion. The current era of

technology is converting the world into

global village. Pakistani Media has also

groomed well in last few years.

The use of media in education & health

promotion is widely used locally, regionally

and internationally. The outcomes of such

media campaigns are yet to be realized

and to be proven as truly successful.
