MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Welcome to the Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Council (MOGSC)

2010 Directory.

MOGSC had a very busy and successful 2009, with a crowded

calendar of activities ranging from forums, talks and meetings to

dialogues, brainstorming sessions, industry dinners, working group

activities and sports events. Participation in all the activities organised

was excellent, each attracting a high attendance of members. In some

cases, MOGSC even had to limit the number of attendees due to

limitations in the venue.

MOGSC is especially proud that the working groups have gained recognition for their positive

contribution to the industry. These working groups demonstrate that MOGSC members are keen

to play a direct role in promoting the industry for the benefit of all concerned. MOGSC has also

established various platforms to collaborate and engage more actively with PETRONAS, the

Government, operating oil & gas companies and industry stakeholders.

MOGSC would like to thank our members for their tremendous support and contribution which

have ensured a successful 2009, and we wish all MOGSC members every success in the

future.

The Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Council, or MOGSC, was formed on December 1, 2003.

It was established to promote the interests of Malaysian oil & gas service providers and make Malaysia a principal player for products, services and resources for the global oil & gas industry.

MOGSC contributes to the development of the Malaysian oil & gas industry by working positively in collaboration with PETRONAS, the Government, operating oil & gas companies, industry players and industry stakeholders.

With a growing membership portfolio comprising major oil & gas players and smaller specialist service providers, MOGSC is the largest and most active association in the Malaysian oil & gas industry today.

MOGSC WORKING GROUPS

The Deepwater Working Group is involved in the very challenging deepwater sector, promoting greater Malaysian involvement in support of PETRONAS’ initiative to transform Malaysia into a regional centre of excellence for deepwater services and resources. The working group meets monthly and organises forums, talks and brainstorming sessions. It is regularly invited to participate in deepwater events organised by industry stakeholders.

The Integrated Operations Working Group’s mission is to collaborate with and support PETRONAS in promoting an Integrated Operations environment in the Malaysian oil & gas industry. PINTAR, which stands for PETRONAS Integrated and Real-time Operations, is expected to be fully implemented by 2015. The working group meets monthly and organises forums, talks and brainstorming sessions. It supports and participates in local and international events to promote world-class technology in the Malaysian oil & gas industry.

The Decommissioning Working Group’s mission is to establish Malaysia as a centre of excellence in decommissioning services for the oil & gas and petrochemical industry in the Asia Pacifi c region. The working group has regular meetings and organises talks, forums and industry engagements.

The Training & Technology Working Group actively supports PETRONAS’ aspiration to develop and improve the safety and competence of personnel working in the oil & gas industry in Malaysia, and establish Malaysia as a regional industry leader in workforce competence.

The Industry Collaboration Committee engages and collaborates with PETRONAS, operating oil & gas companies, Government and industry stakeholders to address any issues of interest. The committee organises, and is invited to attend, meetings to discuss, dialogue, brainstorm and seek opinions on a regular basis.

APS offers a PETRONAS-licensed technology to effectively treat and separate oil in produced water in the hydrocarbon processing cycle. Its Epcon Compact Flotation Unit (CFU) was selected for the PCSB Kumang Cluster Development project and delivered in August 2009 to Sime Darby Engineering S/B. This system treats produced water to a normal quality of 15 ppmv free oil content with an allowable maximum of 25 ppmv. Produced water normally contains 1,000 ppmv of oil with an upset peak of 3,000 ppmv. The initial produced water flow rate is 1,900 bopd with a provision for a maximum flow rate of 10,000 bopd.
