New Business through AUSTMINE – The Australian Mining Equipment and Services Export Association Austmine is a self funded association of companies that areactive in all sections of the Australian mining and mineralprocessing goods and services industry. It currently hasapproximately 100 Members. It works closely with Austradeand other Australian and State Government organisationsto promote the expertise of its Members to theinternational mining community. Austmine membercompanies currently export over $4 billion worth ofequipment and services each year.

Austmine encourages its Members to participate in awide range of international mining-oriented trade fairssuch as - Expomin, MINExpo, IMME, INDABA, China Coal,etc. Austmine has arranged trade missions to Chile, Brazil,China, the Philippines, Peru, Mexico, New Caledonia, India,Southern Africa involving company site visits, seminars,conferences, networking meetings, market studies,presentations and reports, publicity, advertising, etc.

Benefits from these activities have flowed directly to theMembership via an improved and sustained Australianprofile and credibility in key overseas markets, providingmore cost effective market penetration, greater marketawareness, better project identification and shared markedexperiences and costs, and market research assistance.Benefits also include networking and improved supportwith other Members and with Government representatives.

We quarterly publish the Austmine Newsletter that istargeted at overseas companies; it promotes awareness ofthe world’s best innovation and technologies available fromAustmine Members.

In February 2007, Austmine held its second Conferenceand Exhibition in Perth. It was attended by more than 300delegates, with more than 40 percent from overseas, from atotal of 18 countries. The Austmine 2009 Conference andExhibition will be held in Adelaide, South Australia on 10-11November 2009. It will again showcase Australianexcellence in mining technologies and services, and has asits theme ‘The Techonolgy Age of Mining’.

Company Overview. Haulmax, an Australian manufacturer, designs and

builds haulage trucks for the mining industry.

Haulmax has developed an ‘off highway’ (OTH) hauler

capable of meeting the requirements of extended

distance haulage of materials.

The dump truck version offers rear and side dump

bodies with capacities of 80-85 tonnes, while the trailer

version has a 130-135 tonne capacity.

The prime mover is also ideal for mounting special-

purpose lube trucks, fuel tankers and water tankers, or

A low maintenance, robust andsimple design, the system is readily adapted to fit any makeand model of jumbo drill without compromising its drillingcapabilities. With a dual boom development jumbo the bolthole can be drilled with one boom while the other boominserts the resin capsules and the bolt. Significant reductions inbolting cycle times have been recorded.The Trajectaflex Resin Firing System will reduce operatorfatigue and chance of injury by minimising time spent off thework platform. The need for a jumbo operators offsider is alsosignificantly reduced.
