STRENGTHENING the MOGSC EXCO

Recent appointments in line with efforts to

strengthen stewardship of Council

The Council recently saw the appointment of 4 EXCO members

and an advisor to strengthen and enhance stewardship to

champion MOGSC’s members ideas and viewpoints.

The appointed EXCO members and Advisor are:

1. En. Jamal A. Ainul from Schlumberger Group of Companies, Asia

as an Advisor effective 1st December 2016

2. En. Anas Alam Faizli from Eversendai Corporation Berhad

as the Assistant Honorary Secretary effective 1st December 2016

3. En. Mohamed Siraj Abdul Razack from MIR VALVE Sdn Bhd

as an Executive Committee Member effective 1st October 2016

Creating inroads to PENGERANG Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) site visit

The site visit to the Pengerang Integrated Complex on Tuesday, 22nd November

2016 was attended by 108 participants from 50 member companies.

PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation (PRPC) brought the

participants to visit the Material Offloading Facility (MOLF) Ramunia, Small

Package Camp, Temporary Camp Facility, RAPID Temporary Executive Village,

RAPID Temporary Management Office, MOLF Tg Stapa, Concrete Batching Plant,

PETRONAS Chemicals Area, Steam Cracker Complex, Refinery Complex,

Pengerang Cogeneration Plant, Raw Water Treatment Plant and Tank Farm.

In the afternoon, the participants visited the Pengerang Deepwater Terminal and the

Pengerang Marine Operations control tower. In November 2016, they received their

800th vessel at the jetty.

MOGSC would like to thank PRPC, Pengerang Deepwater Terminal and all

participants that was part of the site-visit.

Industry Lead Body – My PPT Program

MOGSC Facilitates Introduction to

Big Data, IoT and Cloud for Members

MOGSC together with MATRADE and Malaysia Digital Chamber of Commerce

(MDCC), organized a seminar on Big Data, IoT and Cloud: Game Changers in

the Oil & Gas Industry. The event was held on Wednesday, 14th December 2016

at Perdana Hall, Level 6, West Wing, Menara MATRADE. YBhg. Dato’ Dzulkifli

Mahmud, CEO of MATRADE gave the welcoming remarks. Speakers consisted

of representatives from PETRONAS, McKinsey & Company, Teradata

Corporation, Emerio (M) Sdn Bhd and International Data Corporation.

As an Industry Lead Body, MOGSC hosted

the My PPT program on Wednesday, 26th

October 2016 at UTM Space. PPT stands for

“Pengiktirafan Pencapaian Terdahulu” or

Recognition of Prior Achievement. It is a

method to give recognition to any individual

who can demonstrate skills outlined in the

National Occupational Skills Standards

(NOSS) based on prior experience and

achievements.

During the session, there were over 30

attendees applying for over 100 skill

certificates. MOGSC will continue to promote

PETRONAS GAS at

MOGSC Meet-the-Members

On Wednesday, 16th November 2016, En. Yusa’ Hassan, CEO of

PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB) presented to MOGSC members

on their corporate briefing and current focus. PGB’s core business

is Gas Processing, Gas Transportation, Supply of Utility and

Industrial Gases and Regasification. PGB is leading the

development of the Air Separation Unit and Regasification Terminal

in Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC).

PETRONAS Project Delivery & Technology

(PD&T) Engagement with the Industry

On Wednesday, 26th October 2016, the PETRONAS Project Delivery & Technology

(PD&T) team presented on their structure and introduced the team to MOGSC

members. MOGSC have been engaging with PD&T following this session to

address the concerns brought forward by the members.

MOGSC Meet-the-Members in Johor

On Monday, 21st November 2016, a day before the site-visit to Pengerang

Integrated Complex, MOGSC hosted a Meet-the-Members event in Johor.

Representatives from RAPID MOLF department and Angkasa Negeri Johor

presented at the event.

Dynamic Positioning Workshop

Satumarin organized a Dynamic Positioning Workshop on Tuesday, 29th November 2016 at

UTM Space. The workshop’s objective is to understand the principle of Dynamic Positioning, to

safely manage Dynamic Positioning vessels and Dynamic Positioning related operations.
