The 13th Mallorca Ballet Season concludes with a 20th anniversary commemorative programme by this internationally renowned dance company that includes new chorography and past masterpieces.

Founded in 1988, with dancers trained in the Victor Ullate School, the company became known as the Ballet de la Comunidad de Madrid-Compañía Víctor Ullate in 1996. Today it is recognized for the virtuosity and technical rigor of its dancers, inspired by the incomparable Víctor Ullate. Dancer, choreographer, director and master - Ullate has inspired many with his passion, tenacity and pure love of his art.

Music includes works by Arvo Pärt, Luis Delgado, Manuel de Falla, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Hossam Ramzy, Mari Boine Persen, Dead Can Dance and Lisa Gerrard.

La XIII Temporada de Ballet de Mallorca finaliza con el Programa conmemorativo del XX Aniversario con la compañía de ballet internacionalmente conocida incluyendo una nueva coreografía y sus obras maestras.

Fundada en 1988, con bailarines formados en la escuela de Víctor Ullate, la compañía empezó a conocerse como el Ballet de la Comunidad de Madrid-Compañía de Víctor Ullate en 1996. ‘70s when punk’s speedy energy merged with pop’s tunefulness, and power pop was born. Even though they started as a band in the 90’s, The Muffs are of that moment. Performing with a larger-than-life sound that emphasizes their Ramones-like drumming and relentless rhythm guitars, they are led by Kim Shattuck and score big with the simple hooks and sassy attitude of songs. You’d have to reach all the way back to Blondie’s Plastic Letters to find punkish power pop this endearing.

Hubo un momento mágico a finales de los 70 cuando la pronta energía del punk se fusionó con las melodías del pop y nació el power pop. Aunque empezaron como grupo en los 90, The Muffs son de aquella época. They launched their self titled album last October which touches upon Velvet Underground, Swell Maps, and catchy pop of UK groups like the Zombies, while not really having any obvious precursors. Friends since childhood -2 of them brothers- the band has an intuitive rapport that seems to transcend speech from years of playing together. This talented foursome has produced a lo-fi masterpiece cloaked in layers of vibrato & guitar wash. A band for the future & a must see for the present!

Hay algo psicodélico de los ‘60 en esta joven banda canadiense. En octubre lanzaron su autotitulado álbum con toques de Velvet Underground, Swell Maps y del pop pegadizo de grupos ingleses como los Zombies. Amigos desde la infancia -2 de ellos son hermanos- el grupo tiene una compenetración tan intuitiva que parece que hace años que tocan juntos. Este cuarteto con gran talento ha producido obras maestras encubiertas con capas de vibrato y sonidos guitarrísticos.

One of Oliva Trencada’s interesting proposals is his project to put music to poems of some of the most relevant Majorcan and Catatalan authors.

Oliva Trencada conjuga la música tradicional mallorquina con elementos del folk-pop anglosajón. Aportan una perspectiva totalmente diferente de la música folk mallorquina, a la vez que se suman a la tradición de los trovadores y poetas.

Una de las vertientes interesantes de Oliva Trencada es su propuesta de musicar poemas de autores mallorquines y catalanes.

Oliva Trencada combines traditional Majorcan music with elements from Anglo-Saxon folk-pop; offering a totally different perspective of Majorcan folk music & joining the tradition of troubadours and poets at the same time.

One of Oliva Trencada’s interesting proposals is his project to put music to poems of some of the most relevant Majorcan and Catatalan authors.

Oliva Trencada conjuga la música tradicional mallorquina con elementos del folk-pop anglosajón. Aportan una perspectiva totalmente diferente de la música folk mallorquina, a la vez que se suman a la tradición de los trovadores y poetas.

Una de las vertientes interesantes de Oliva Trencada es su propuesta de musicar poemas de autores mallorquines y catalanes.
