Our Organization

Our collection of seasoned executive consultants is available on an as-required basis

in the appropriate combination to suit client requirements. Each is a sole

practitioner but is committed to be available for company projects for a minimum

amount of time annually and will not act in competition with the company on a

project or client basis.

Phil Richardson is the Team Leader, as the Chief Executive Officer and each senior

team member leads a functional category of work as a Managing Director. Each is

also a member of the Advisory Board of the Company.

The professional fees paid to all colleagues is uniform by level, with the added

incentive of a share of project incentive payments earned by the company, assessed

proportional to the time investment of each executive in a given project.

We are all well-seasoned international business executives, experienced with

producing world class retail and mixed use projects in many countries of the world.

We work directly with the senior executives of our clients in order to provide the

best in class support possible for their efforts.

We work on site, or from our local offices, as required, in order to maintain the most

Professor Phil Richardson, CD, BA, SCSM

Executive Managing Director, Greater China

With over three decades of international commercial real estate experience, Phil Richardson‘s

extensive professional career includes the successful development of large-scale commercial,

residential and mixed-use real estate properties

His role is to provide powerful strategic thinking to the master planning and feasibility evaluation

of major retail and mixed use developments.

Career Synopsis

Regional General Manager, Toronto Properties, Campeau Corporation, one of Canada’s largest

public development companies, oversaw ten major retail projects.

CEO Richardson Group Inc, and Springbank Property Group Inc., successful property

management and development companies, the first operating specialty hospitality centres and

large regional malls for third parties and the second providing master planning, entitling, leasing,

project management for them as well. He also financed, built, owned and operated several high-

rise residential properties and hotels across Canada and the United States.

Senior Development Director, Retail & Leisure Projects for ALDAR Properties PJSC, Abu

Dhabi responsible for $12 Billion USD Commercial Projects including Ferrari World-Yas Island.

Managing Director, MENA & Asia, Chartwell Property Advisors, Abu Dhabi provided master

planning and feasibility studies for third party developers in the UAE, India and Mainland China.

Phil holds the most senior professional designation awarded by the International Council of

Shopping Centres. He is also Professor, International Development, Asia, for Canadore College,

Canada.

Ye Chen, BA

Managing Director, Marketing & Relationships, Greater China

With 17 Years of high profile experience in Guangdong as a front line senior international

journalist for Shenzhen’s largest Television Station, Ye Chen has worked with executive level

Property Developers, Retailers, and Government Officials in the economic development of the

Province.

As a highly experienced celebrity, he understands how to promote our clients and their projects

in highly creative and powerful ways. Another role is to work closely with the local., Provincial

and Central Government officials with whom he is very familiar, in order to promote the

interests of our clients.

Career Synopsis

After graduation from Wuhan University, one of the most prestigious in China, he joined

Shenzhen TV as a journalist., and quickly rose to become one of the best known in China.

His fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese and English has made it possible for him to

represent his company at such events as the World Cup in South Africa.

Thomas Hofer, MBA, CSM

Managing Director, Operations, Greater China

Thomas Hofer is an accomplished property professional with demonstrated achievement in senior

leadership level positions with over 20 years Australian & International property experience

specializing in shopping mall management and development of mixed use projects throughout

Australia, Asia, Middle East and Eastern Europe. He has added significant value to them through

leadership, intensive asset management and the implementation of sophisticated systems. His role is

to provide similar organizational set up, delivery and ongoing operational leadership for major

projects.

Jaap Kalma, BA, MBA

Managing Director, Europe and Brand Development, Greater China

With 20 years of brand building and marketing experience around the world, Jaap Kalma has

been worked as a lead advisor on several successful real estate developments, ranging from retail

to entertainment and hospitality. His role is to lead the development and application of potent

international branding and marketing to produce market dominance for major projects. His role

is to assist our clients to develop a world-class brand and market presence, and to expedite their

relationships with top quality international retailers.

Career Synopsis

After obtaining an MBA from Stanford University Business School in the USA in 1994, he joined

Unilever in the Netherlands as a brand manager. Over the years he worked for the Anglo-Dutch

multinational in various sales and marketing positions, in the Netherlands, the UK, the USA, and

in worldwide roles. His last position was as a Marketing Director of Italy.

He then joined Ferrari, an Italian manufacturer of luxury sports cars and an F1 team, where he

was the Strategic Marketing Director and carried responsibility with a board position for brand

management, marketing and commercial strategy. He also managed the licensing and

merchandising business as well as retail and sponsorship marketing. He has been closely involved

in the Ferrari World theme park in Abu Dhabi, in developing detailed plans for a Ferrari Hotel,

and in revising Ferrari dealership architecture, development and processes. He left Ferrari in 2010

to establish himself as an advisor and has since been involved in various international retail and

hospitality developments both in Italy and Mainland China, working closely with many Italian

luxury and fashion brands. He is also an independent director of Fullsix S.p.A., the leading

internet agency of Italy listed on the Milan stock exchange.

Professor Ian R. Mackie

Managing Director, Master Planning, Greater China

Ian Mackie is an international specialist with thirty years experience in site acquisition,

commercial appraisals, master planning, engagement and management of design consultants, and

contractual procurement for significant government and private sector projects. He is very

proficient in organisational management, leadership, strategic planning, business development,

communications, commercial acumen, and corporate governance

His role is to provide the sophisticated guidance needed to provide our clients with the best and

latest world class master planning concepts for their projects as well as the legal direction that

underpins any successful project.

Doug Edgelow, BA, MBA

Managing Director, North America

Doug Edgelow is a successful residential and mixed use developer who has built an impressive reputation in the

Southwestern USA over his thirty year career. A community and industry leader, he is highly regarded for his

contributions to the quality of the lifestyle of the region’s citizens. He is very active in the Urban Land Institute

and very knowledgeable about property developments of all kinds in North America.

Career Synopsis

• Douglas J. Edgelow started a landscaping and garden center business to finance his way through University in Calgary and Saskatoon, Canada. Ten years later the combined companies were employing over 300 and had locations in 25 centers across Canada.

• Phoenix, Arizona: Doug formed Equus Corporation, through which he has developed thousands of condominiums, including a 17 story high-rise condo project which won a prestigious “Pillar Award” for the best adaptive re-use project in the USA from the National Homebuilders Association. He also won a “Red” award for the development of his Hilton Garden Inn in Phoenix. Doug has developed commercial and residential projects in the metropolitan Phoenix area as well as Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (www.equuscorp.com) .

Bob Poline has built an impressive 30 year career serving the North American and International

Retail Development Community by sourcing new business opportunities and the senior executives

required to manage them. He has handled assignments for many of North America’s most notable

property development companies.

His business development roles have included establishing and operating entertainment, management

consulting and investment banking enterprises

Waldo R. Dueck, BA Hons., LLB

Managing Director, Legal and General Counsel

Waldo Dueck is an experienced international lawyer, admitted to practice in the Province of Alberta, Canada, the Law Society of Hong Kong and is on the role of Solicitors in England. He has extensive corporate litigation experience and has extensive exposure to the Mainland China business environment gained over his sixteen years of residency during which he has become proficient in Mandarin. He has provided executive level legal counsel for major foreign and domestic corporations such as CitiCorp, JamJoom, and Cube Energy Solutions as well as to governments such as Canada and Portugal. He will support our team from our Hong Kong and Shenzhen offices as our General Counsel and will focus on our domestic and foreign investments advisory and our educational initiatives.

1975 to 1993 Practiced law in Edmonton, Alberta representing individual and corporate clients’ interests including at all levels of court in Alberta. Reviewed numerous corporate proposed acquisitions and consulted corporations on various corporate investments and mergers.

1996 to 2001: Partner in one of Canada’s largest immigration consulting companies processing applications while leading the creation of a comprehensive e-commerce business service platform in China. Liaised with Canadian educational institutions to pursue joint ventures with counterpart Chinese educational institutions. Oversaw, in Hong Kong and China, the setting up of 25 offices, and office personnel of over 200 to service over 2,000 immigration applications to Canada

2002 to 2006: Created due diligence procedures for Chinese companies in establishing expansion plans to other countries. Created and administered financial training programs to Citibank (CitiCorp) employees in China to better service their Hong Kong customers.

2006 to Present: Director for Essential Research Company Limited providing legal advice on client business investments and programs, involving Canada, Hong Kong and Singapore. Provided legal and due diligence advice to many large businesses as part of their business qualification as Venture Capital Fund providers including Jamjoom Group of Saudi Arabia, and Cube Energy Solutions Pte Limited of Singapore. Helped establish, structure and qualify PEI Equity Alliance Co. Ltd. to be one of the exclusive approved financial intermediaries in the Prince Edward Island. Provided advice to the Portuguese government in setting up a business immigration investment programme.

Ric Rodermund, BS, Eng., BA, Languages

Managing Director, Education and Research

Ric Rodermund’s role is to design, implement and supervise all training and educational programs to international best standards. As well, he will be one of the key presenters of our management seminar programs, focusing on the areas of best international training and qualifications

He brings his extensive experience in management and training. spanning retail, wholesale, international distribution, and OEM, in the private sector, and as a military veteran, teacher and former mayor, in the public sector. His role is to apply his special talents in developing cooperation between the private and public sectors and in the design and application of educational programs, particularly for cross-skills training.
