“The Chutzpah imperative: empowering Today’s Jews for a Life that Matters”

rAbbi eD FeiNSTeiN The Harold and Sybil Effron Memorial Lecture

TUESDAY, MARCH 22

7:30 P.M.

Why be Jewish? What does Judaism mean? What is its message? What does it do for us? These questions we ask

ourselves are driven and answered by chutzpah, the revolutionary conception of the human condition and our relationship to God and Jewish tradition. Throughout history, Jewish chutzpah has insisted on the significance of life, the possibilities of human goodness, and the depth of human responsibility.

Join Rabbi Ed Feinstein to explore the heart of Judaism and reconnect with what he calls “The Chutzpah Imperative.” Rabbi Feinstein has been addressing our most difficult questions about Judaism and Jewish life for more than twenty years as a congregational rabbi, Jewish educator, and author. Come meet him and hear his challenging message.

Thinking about the Jewish Future with Jewish Theological Seminary

ChANCeLLor ArNoLD eiSeN TUESDAY JANUARY 12 • 7:30 P.M.

Chancellor Arnold Eisen of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America returns to Chizuk Amuno to speak and meet with our community. Dr. Eisen will think with us about challenges present in

American Jewish life, considering responses and opportunities. Following his remarks, we’ll share in conversation together with Dr. Eisen. Over the past many years we have been privileged to meet in Dr. Eisen a dynamic and insightful teacher. We are delighted that he returns to us this January to further our discussion and relationship. We invite everyone to join with us in welcoming and learning with Chancellor Eisen.
